Song of the White-throated Honeyeater
كو سمها قاتل لكن طيور كله تعتبر جميل
Makan nya apa itu burung lur
can they sound like a frog?
Amazing
I love these spiders. They're so neat
I have these calling at Bonogin, Gold Coast.
We are just so lucky to hear such a beautiful song.
I was just thinking how lovely it was to hear the fig birds calling out the other day... and then a female hit my window and died... now I see her poor mate is looking for her... it's really sad... I hope they had no babies in the nest... she probably had eggs in her... life is sad... I hope he finds another mate... I haven't heard any of them calling out since she died... sad... ; (

Great video thanks for uploading
Just beautiful, Bernie!
Well, today we have about 4 of them turn up in the backyard trees feeding and not getting on well with the resident noisy miners.
Have had one in my yard in Newcastle for the past couple of weeks. Wouldn't have known what it was if it hadn't been for this clip and my son's keen ear and eye to be able to identify it aurally and visually. Thanks.
I'm pleased my little clip was helpful. It is a lovely song.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful song.
I'm glad my clip was helpful to you Jim. These birds do have the most amazing sounds in their call.
They do have the most amazing sounds as part of their song. It's great that you get to hear their fabulous song.

Saw one this morning in my yard south of the qld border and its call startled me. It was interspersed with sounds like a small dog yapping and cat meowing. I thought it might be some type of mimic as I don't usually have them in my yard. Thats why I searched the web and ended up here. Thanks
Thanks for posting - saw one in my garden very briefly this morning amongst the lillypillies. Hadn't seen one here before - coastal town mid north coast NSW.
I'm so glad this little video was of help to you, Cate. These Figbirds are very common up here in north Queensland. We see them on a daily basis, both the males and the females.
Thanks Bernie. Good to know they're widespread.
How many people were brought here by the Cleveland show
+Keith Tinnel Nobody apparently
I don't know which shows are made in Cleveland
it is a male olive-backed sunbird. fred s wbpp
Same species, different common names
I did reply on the other comment, B, but I'll add my reply here too. I think you're talking about the Peaceful Dove song that can be heard faintly in the background. It's definitely a common background song out here.
Ah, that's the Peaceful Dove song, B. It does sound a little bit like pigeon call.
It's in the background of this one as well :) Sounds a bit like a pigeon...
No worries, thanks. It's more the faint bird call in the background that's a repetitive call?
Most of the bird song in my video was Figbird song, B, although I have to admit I'm not an expert on different bird calls.
Anyone know what that bird is in the background at the start, commonly heard in areas of Townsville...
Back home after a break in Brisbane. I managed to fit in a visit to my favourite park, the Roma Street Parklands, while I was there, and I've put together a few shots as a slide show. #romastreetparklands #australiangarden #publicgardens
Great slideshow Bernie! It brightened my morning. Thanks for sharing :)
***** I'm so glad you enjoyed the photos. It is such a wonderful spot right in the middle of the city.
Thanks for the +1 David C Becker
We were there a few weeks ago. It is an oasis in the city.
Diane Bohlen I totally agree. It's definitely one of the inner city's best spots.
Here's a little of the antics I was watching today from my verandah. #australianwildlife #agilewallaby #drytropicsgarden
Diana Studer Yep, they have massive pins on them. Yet somehow they can fit everything in that pouch!
***** It's an absolute joy being able to watch these lovely creatures. I get to enjoy their antics almost every day.
Thanks David. I am very lucky to live in such a spot. I am surrounded by the sound of wildlife almost all day long.
Yes Glengarry there are definitely loads of little corners in these garden spaces. Our northern tropical winter is very very mild! I'm sure many wouldn't call it a winter at all.
Thanks Glengarry. So glad you enjoyed the wander!
Lots of interesting nooks and crannies in your garden with many surprises,..you have a mild start to winter.
Beautiful garden and very interesting flowers.
Very cute, love the young Wallaby!
This little one would be more manageable for those kittens of yours, lol! Fortunately there's a little distance between them all.
Cybagooseuk, we were all safe in the end. The fire didn't cross the creek bed and the rural fire brigade looked after the homes across the way. The bush here has now recovered totally as the native tree, the Melaleucas and Eucalypts withstand bushfires very well.
What a sad loss to the environment and wildlife, I hope you and your family were safe, wishing you all the best for the future my friend !
Josephchaim, it's a joy to hear this beautiful song in the mornings. We've been lucky enough to hear a pair of these birds for well over a month now.
Cybagooseuk, they forage flowers for nectar and pollen, but will also eat fruit and seeds.
Thanks very much, Cybagooseuk, you're most welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour.
Beautiful bird, what do they eat ?
What a beautiful selection of gorgeous flowers, thanks for sharing my friend !
It came within 100 metres or so . Our house is situated on a hillside directly opposite to the hill that was alight. Thankfully the flames didn't jump the dry creek bed in between and come up our hillside.
I hope it kept well away from your place.
Thanks MsFlowerpotlady. It's certainly been fun potting up the annuals and I'm looking forward to a lovely display in the coming weeks.
It's all part and parcel of living in the tropics I'm afraid, altthough it's always a frigtening experience.
They are great to see with their fabulous colours. We've had quite a few around here lately. You can't miss those squawks!
I enjoyed this video , Bernie! And it is neat to hear your birds singing and how cool to see the wallaby.
G'day Ian! Between the Cicadas during the day and the frogs at night, we become used to the background symphony! We rarely get to hear traffic noise or even human noise for that matter, so maybe it's not all that bad! Well, that's what I'm saying on days when I haven't been sent completely round the bend with the din!
Well hello there Ian! Yes you're absolutely right ... whilst I'm used to this level of cicada song I have to admit I go a little mad during the Summer. This noise is nothing compared to the din they make at the height of summer out here in the bush. I have to retreat inside, turn on the air-con and put on some very loud music or watch a movie with the volume on high.
