Maple Leaf Firearms Scout Cut
In this video, I discuss the Scout Cut for the Glock 17 from Maple Leaf Firearms.
I recently merged my current RUclips account with my brand account, causing all of my original comments to be lost. No clue how, why, etc. Either way, it's contrived and frustrating, but it is what it is. Enjoy the video!

The CZ P-01 is a compact alloy-framed hammer-fired double-action/single-action pistol chambered in 9mm. Nice video. Had a 1006. Had 2 1076. Sold one to a game warden here in Montana for bear protection. But it all started with a Colt Delta. Had 2 of them. 1 Bren Ten in SF model. A springfield Omega 6 inch ported. A couple LAR Grizzlies in 45 win mag/10mm. Several Glocks 20 & 29. And now more recently. The S&W 2.0 10mm 4inch. They all shot very well. And for the most part reliable. Except for the Springfield Omega. It was hit & miss with it.

    • @Its_Papa_John
      @Its_Papa_John 3 месяца назад

      Dang! And I thought I was a 10mm buff!... It's always been a personal dream of mine to own a Bren. Maybe someday, someone will bring them back into production! Springfield is totally hit or miss, to be honest. I would not give them any of my money. Not just because of their dubious quality, but their politics as well. Thank you for the comment, my friend!

    Hey Jon. Keep up the good content. Lived during the 80s so you brought back some 80s nostalgia. Would have been a good dude to hang around and talk 80s on the podcast all day. Hello, my friend! I'm so glad you appreciate my content, and my music taste! ;) I certainly don't think I was born in the wrong generation like a lot of people my age say, but you wouldn't hear any complaining out of me if I woke up tomorrow and it were 1985 again. The 80s really seemed like the best time to have been alive. And thank you for your service! I'd love to hear more about it. I see Air Force T-38s training every few days where I live, and I never get any less excited to see them ripping around the sky. The F-5/T-38 (and of course, the ill-fated F-20) is one of my favorite fighter aircraft series of all time... CZ pistols are great. I rarely carry my P-01 anymore because it just isn't my style at this point in my life, but my 75B Matte Stainless gets lots of love. I don't own any of their shotguns or rifles, but I'm sure the quality is next to none! I appreciate your kind words and encouragement, more than you know. Stay safe, and God bless!

      @@Its_Papa_John yes sir. T’s? My babies where I have been are the A-10s, B-52s, B-2, F-22, F-16s, F-15s, C-130s, B-2s, U-2s and some other. Some I have even seen that I have to keep on the hush hush. 🤫. Those 75Bs are great and practical because they have very defined lines. I have the 75D PCR and P-01 but sometimes depending on what I am wearing the 75D PCR gets dropped in my P-01 holster. My 75BD will drop in my SP-01 holster sometimes. Sometimes I just want those smooth lines. No lights. Classic nostalgia like your channel. I keep my options open. Sometimes I don’t want to carry any of those alloy framed CZs and take the polymers out. My P-09 and P-07 as a back up. Then if I really don’t want bulkiness and up to date I bring the P-10F and P-10C out. CZ is great. You have a new subscriber. Doesn’t have to be all CZ. Your content alone is interesting. Going to have to do a skit about some good A, B, C rated 80s songs. We can talk for days about 80s music. I’d hop right in that time capsule with you brother. 80s was a time. I was telling my family about the 80s. I remember when you could smoke on an airplane or in buildings such as stores or restaurants. I remember catching the greyhound from North-South, East Coast-West Coast. I remember when you could lay in the back of the window of your car in the 80s(no seat belt laws implemented yet), my family in GA rode around with shotguns on a shotgun rack in their trucks rear windows. I remember the music. How real musicians and entertainers had to out in work back then. How wonderful music was without hearing garbage related to twerking and raunchy sexual lyrics. Do you think switching from a 9mm to a 10mm for a home defense pistol is a good idea in today’s world? I know the 9mm let the FBI down in the 1986 Miami shootout but bullet technology has also come a long way. Today’s 9mm definitely performs better than it did in the 80’s. Just wanted some opinions seeing as I’ve been considering switching from 9mm to 10mm and have been looking into the S&W 1006, 1076, and Colt Delta Elite.

    • @Its_Papa_John
      @Its_Papa_John 8 месяцев назад

      I think you'll be just fine with either! I carry both and trust them both equally. You are right, bullet technology has come a very long way since the '80s. If it were 1986, I would not trust 9mm as an adequate self-defense cartridge. But I trust both for almost any purpose nowadays! However, 10mm still remains to be my favorite cartridge of all time.

I am usued at Beretta 98,9 mm, the 1006 is more similar than you can think.two safety levers on the slide,active on the hammer,frame does overtake the ammunition, stronger than Colt delta elite,and a nice double action. A lot of steel,but flat and easy carryed with a good holster.A modern, improved "version" of old 1911...

      Very good question! Crockett did carry the 4506-0, which is very aesthetically similar to the 1006. He also carried the Bren Ten. His was technically a .45, since it was a blank gun. But because of the Bren's original 10mm chambering, a lot of people like to think of the 1006 as the next pistol Crockett would have carried, had he not retired in 1990.

    It's risky to have a non-lethal gun in black, at least during the day when orange or yellow would tell an attacker they don't have to shoot back with a firearm (if they're at all fair). I favor pepper gel in a serious distance model, like Sabre Crossfire. It lacks the high velocity but that can be an advantage up close when you might blast someone's eye out with the JPX. The JPX also has a relatively narrow hit window, but spray gel lets you keep tracking the face as someone moves. Thugs aren't going to just stand still like in demos, more likely they'll duck and charge if they're close enough.

    • @Its_Papa_John

      Agreed! Probably not the smartest to have a non-lethal that's colored and shaped like a gun. I've since upgraded to the real deal, to get rid of any confusion. ;)

    • @Its_Papa_John
      @Its_Papa_John Год назад

      The plastic guide rod probably isn't of much importance, since the gun has a full-length dust cover. If it were something like a Beretta, then I'd have to replace it. As far as sights go, I really recommend the TFX Pros from Truglo! I don't have any extended experience with CGW, but I'm sure their work is amazing. I've wanted to Cajunize my CZs for quite some time now. Currently, I keep a Streamlight TLR-7 on my P-01. But I haven't carried it in years, since it isn't really my style anymore. I much prefer older designs with no light rail, like the classic-style CZ 75, 1911, Hi Power, Beretta 92, etc. They're just a lot more sleek in my opinion, and I wouldn't feel right carrying one of my guns in a shoulder rig or other leather holster if it had a WML attached to it. That would just feel... dirty. And not the good kind of dirty.

    I have the PCR and a full size 75 decocker model. I love them but I use my p229 as ccw because of the issues with pins breaking and stuff. Great guns but it will be the worst moment when one of those things goes wrong I feel! Totally trust them as back up guns though and the full size is the epitome of 9mm shooting experience imo Anyway great review.

      Thank you! I don't blame you a bit for being apprehensive... Murphy's Law is an ugly thing. ;) To be honest, I would (and do) trust CZ 75s completely as a primary defensive handgun. The only issues I've encountered are with the firing pin retainer pin, and the decocker return spring. And after replacing them a few years ago, I've had no issues since. My CZ 75 Matte Stainless has encountered no issues whatsoever, but I went ahead and replaced that pin just to be on the safe side. I'm glad you enjoyed the review! Feel free to stick around, I have some interesting stuff in the works!
