3rd row seat removal
*hybrid battery directly under 3rd row seat.
**Highly suggest building a platform or something to keep pressure off, and airflow around the battery and its filters
All trim models are the same

Awesome tutorial, and greatly appreciated! One question or point of concern- if the top of the HEV battery module is exposed like that, is it suitable to withstand any type of cargo load? i.e.- when the seats were in place above the module, they supported any/ all weight with no weight being imposed on to the battery module. Not trying to be a nay-sayer at all, just a point of concern/ curiosity. Again, fantastic video!
@@shmmebeat concern is always a must and definitely not a nay sayer. In the video I do believe I stated one would want to do this if building a platform of a sort. I’ve built a few of them out of different materials but yea, you want to leave space as to not damage the battery or its airflow to the hybrid cooling system. I spaced the platform 1” off the highest part of the battery. I’ve heard you can also remove the cushions, but not recommended cause the metal doesn’t have finish cuts in areas and can leave you bleeding for a while.
@@SLOWQUOIA good deal, apologies for missing the detail. I got caught up in putting more overland stuff in my amazon shopping cart! Lol
@@shmmebeat 🤣
THANK YOU!
@@jackfrost650 happy to help!
Great video - after removing 3rd row can you show me sketch or diagram of what your platform over the batter will look Iike - thanks
Excellent video. Thank You.
Thanks so much for such a thorough video. I needed this!
Did you end up building some sort of platform or just left it the way it sits?
@@Spiekoloos yup built a platform and storage, 2 storage areas in the base, 1 drawer and upper storage. Recent reel/short I posted has some pictures of it. In the final stages of the sleep system (full flat platform 2nd-3rd rows). I’ll be posting a video when it’s 100% done
Can you show a sketch or diagram of your platform over the battery
@@TonySilvestri-j9b next video will have what was built and some guidelines and such for people to build off of (pull screenshots)
Awesome ride nice to see it being taken off road too not just a pavement princess like most sequoia
Thank you!!!! I’m starting to want to build my 3rd gen pro out and I couldn’t find anything last year!
Happy to help. Great choice of vehicle!!
I found a 2003 sequoia is for sale $8000.00cdn with 277 000 km, all maintenance up to date. Great how to video, video thx.
Different generation but same concept
Does your Sequoia have power third row seats? Thank you for doing this video. I've wanted to remove my seats for additional capacity, and thanks to you, I will. My dealer told me it shouldn't be done due to sensors.
Yes it does. Power folds for closing and opening. It also has a second button while in 3rd row to recline a few inches once in the open position. The sensors are essentially just seat belt reminders. Once you unplug it there are no issues or codes.
