For the repair it was necessary to change all the capacitors about 100 smd capacitors including 5 throughole on the power supply and two more on the sound board. Also one more repair was done on the cassette deck, where a switch from the back side of the deck needed to be cleaned, from the central side where the cassette enters the moving mechanism had to be cleaned all over and re-lubricated, ...

mine does not close. Any idea?
@@MGoudsmits yes there are about 90 capacitors inside the boards of this camera that are leaking and need replacing that is where these problems come from, when the capacitors are changed there is a 50/50 success and failure because the leakage has destroyed the circuits inside unfortunatly 😏
@@salvatorev_ so it is not a slipping drive belt?
@@MGoudsmits No these cameras don't come with conventional belts, that are made of rubber and cut, they have high quality silicone belts very durable they never cut or dry out

@@CycloneCordVHS thank you my friend ✨
How did you repair it / clean it tho? Instructions unclear, music bops too hard!
where did you get the parts to replace the capacitors? Also how difficult is it to replace them?
This camcorder is very realistic. The sound of the waves is very accurate.
Muje hi8 cassette chai
so cool
No talking in this video? What are you trying to explain in this video without speaking?
read the description!
ผมมีอยู่1 ชุดครับ ทุกอย่างครบถ้วน แต่ใช้งานไม่ได้
I inherited this camera from my dad.. batteries appear to not work so idk if the remote and camera it self still work
You can buy replacement batteries from Kastar
What is the device at 0:19
Remote control
Is this model prone to leaking capacitors?
Nice work. I have the same camera but not working. Can you help me to fix it? Of course I will pay.
unfortunately I don't undertake other people's repairs because it's a big responsibility to make it work properly, I only deal with my own cameras as an amateur, sometimes I have wall-mounted bad things, sometimes unfortunately no
I'm surprised you managed to repair that camcorder
it was the most difficult repair but it was a success ✨
@@salvatorev_ Yesterday, I got a Sony V9, and I didn’t even have to repair it because there weren’t any surface-mounted capacitors in it.
@@VHSRecordingStudio I thought so too about this camera but unfortunately if you search there is a V9 repair video and there are some smd capacitors on the camera sensor but I don't know if they are bad capacitors like the others

@@salvatorev_ That camcorder is the V90E. I have the American version, so I think they are different.
that assembly job is so extreme it would take me days perhaps weeks to complete
the first time I came into contact with the camera I did several hours it was very tiring there are quite a lot of cables during assembly you have to know where each goes so I numbered them in the order they go in, with time you get used to it so now it will take me at least 10 minutes to do it Assembling, what I notice after fully repairing the camera when I tested the image quality is that it is not worth it as much as a VX1/VX3 3CCD camera which is ten times better than V5000-V6000
I have ordered the VX-1 and I expect it to arrive in a few days, the owner said it is functional I will see when I test it, if it was made in 1994 there is a chance it is fully functional
@@salvatorev_ I have a VX1 as well except the tape mechanism doesn't work on mine
I have the vx1 too. It needs to repair too. It plays tape but no image from camera.
@@alanwong3980 bad capacitors 🥺
so cool
Hi again, i have a sony ccd-tr4 (fully recapped) and when i insert a tape it doesn't go down and ejects after a few seconds.... do you know what the problem could be?
The board may have been corroded by the leaks of bad capacitors from the past unfortunately the cameras even after cleaning the boards and changing the capacitors will not work fully again and the reason is that the leakage has progressed to the board, another reason is bad connections on the boards, it may be necessary to change the capacitors in the dc converter another reason is that the cassette deck has blocked something inside the mechanism is broken or even needs grease on the gears
@@salvatorev_ It was actually the main board that was causing the problem. Luckily my VHS friend has a spare main board that he is going to give me
Whats the name of the song? I want to use it in my next time-lapse
This is awesome!! I make time-lapses as well!
it's not a D8 format use only HI8 !!
Mines doing the same thing
Bravo bravo bravo
ha risolto in qualche modo? ho lo stesso problema
My mom got the regular pro version. I also made an analog film clip of it like this one here. Hoping to upload soon
Upload it of course I just connected the V6000 to my computer and shot it digitally because the deck is broken the head when I buy a V6000 for parts I will replace it 🙏🏻
@@salvatorev_ it's published. I wish you the best of luck with that as well💯
Hi my camera hasn’t been used for a while there was a tape in it. Door opened and ejected tape but when closed wouldn’t drop the tape down any idea why ?
hi may be the camera video deck mechanism is jammed, also there may be bad capacitors on the board that are leaking and need to be replaced, what is your camera model?
Its gonna be bad capacitors... Most of these things are ruined by bad caps these days..
@@VHSRecordingStudio this thing with bad capacitors started from 1988 until the end of 1993 in Sony cameras the cameras worked from 6 to 15 years at the most all the capacitors had already died either from leakage or drying out, my Sony CCD -FX 300 ( video8 ) purchased Dec 1992 fully functional until 2001 stopped recording from 2002 until about 2008-09 the camera only worked as player and about 2009 the camera started playing black and white tapes the cassette door would no longer open as it never worked again
@@salvatorev_ I wish Sony never used those cheap Japanese capacitors 😢

Hi there, I have a Samsung SCX800 video 8 camcorder that works completely fine but won’t turn on In camera mode. Do you know what the problem could be?
Hi yes , check caps on dc convert
@@salvatorev_ I figured that’s what it was
@@VHSRecordingStudio check the capacitors and when you change them see if they have blown and some fuse usually with the leakage of the capacitor also blows some fuse, when you change them and everything is ready check the CCD sensor board if there are capacitors with leakage and they need to be changed
Buy me one please
How are you getting the battery to work? Tbh I wouldn’t understand anyways can I send you my spare batteries for one working one?
Hello, did you solve your problem? Can I buy it somewhere or maybe it is possible to "create" this battery?
I have this camera and everything works accept I cannot see anything through the view finder, any recommendations?
yes but the tape inside is not capable to record the higher frequencies. The result is more noise and short black lines at edges in the picture. Old trick but not a good one.
a digital 8 camera can record normally and on 8mm cassettes!!
MY sony camcorder opens fine but will not close properly ! Probably more cost to fix than the value of the camera as nobody wanted to fix mine.
Could you please send a link to where you get the SMD capacitors from? I've got a ton of old Sony cameras which all need them replaced. I've been following your channel for years now and I think it's great what you're doing, I'm only becoming proficient at replacing them myself now. Cheers from Australia!
Hi Salvatore, do you do repairs for this type of camera? I found my dad’s Sony ccd v200e which hasn’t been used in 30 years but it’s still working. Only, the evf shows a bad picture like in your test video (interference/weird looking vertical lines). Would you be open to taking a look at it and possibly repair it? I’d appreciate it so much! Of course I’d take care of shipping and repair expenses. Regards,
The issue is they use through hole boards and the cap corrosion gets between the layers. I have restored most of the Sony Video Walkmans and inc the first GV-8 and they are terrible to restore but I have 3 x fully working units after obtaining 15 of them.
In the future, u should see if a Sony CCD-V600 Hi8 pal will do u better justice than the V800 did (just a recommendation)
Yea I love all models from Sony !
Such a nice cam. Eject motor sounds a lot healtier than the one in my ccd-v8e that actually broke the other day
first of all thank you for the precious contents, here on YT there is very little concerning the V100e. Then secondly i wanted to ask you: have you ever disassembled this model? what do you use for cleaning?
0:51 the strobe light narrowly took out the camera's image sensor
the damage was caused by the capacitor leakage that was on the sensor board and it burned a transistor which i was unable to replace, these are the major irreparable problems caused to the circuit when there is a large capacitor leakage
@@salvatorev_ oh my, I can only imagine. My thing is, I wouldn't know what those transistors looked like, neither would I know where to get a replacement transistor if possible other than a parts unit.....only thing I know is the capacitors which I still haven't gotten around to doing my own work on
@@CycloneCordVHS unfortunately it's not only the capacitors that break in the cameras, you know the rest of the components break from the leakage of the capacitors that spills onto the board, a short circuit can even happen and the camera catches fire, 6 years ago I bought a Sony CCD camera FX500e and when I plugged it in the camera turned on and started making smoke until it turned off and wouldn't turn on again this is because the camera had a large capacitor leak on the board and it short circuited and caught fire
@@salvatorev_ sad story in my opinion, luckily there's many more out there....I'm familiar with the story of the next "repair" of another FX500....aside from that, lemme know when u get ur next VX1
@@CycloneCordVHS I really want to buy the next VX-1 at some point I just need to find a proper ad and the camera is functional and good externally no scratches and I hope it was made in 1995 as in 1995 all cameras had good capacitors the first VX1 I bought was a 1995 and it was fully functional the second I bought was a 1993 it was not working properly then I replaced all the capacitors the camera worked right two years and at some point I had an accident and then the camera burned out since then it hasn't worked again
remastered?
Yes, I connected the video output of the V200 to the input of the V6000 amplified signal and took the video from the output of the V6000 directly to the video capture device and so the video plays better without flickering
@@salvatorev_ great technique, I should try something similar in the future
@@CycloneCordVHS of course when you have signal loss problems you will need to do it
So cool you were able to get this working. I was wondering where you got the replacement ccd filter as i need one for my sony ccd-v8e
i had one from a similar model V-6000 and used it as a spare
Thats awesome! Did you have to do anything to get it working or was it like this to begin with?
it didn't work properly see the previous video
do a stereo test!!
I have problems with the video capture device for this sample is in monophonic
@@salvatorev_ oh, you saying ur video capture device doesn't like stereo? if so, i find it bizarre that sometimes certain electronics have an apparent mind of their own
@@CycloneCordVHS generally it doesn't work properly i have to get another one anyway sometimes the picture flickers while the camera works very well on the tv and on the device never.. The Dazzle capture is for garbage as well as its program and the drivers do not work properly in windows 10

I have the same problem w mine (V220 American Version) I wish u the best of luck on fixing yours man
this model I have found 3 bad capacitors one in the first power supply and a second one in the CCD power supply and one more on the CCD lens board also there is a green glass filter on the CCD sensor which is dull and doesn't clean I have to replace that too if i succeed the camera will work fully
@@salvatorev_ and please also, like whatever is making the sound on this camera mono, fix whatever enables the stereo if possible bc thats the greatest feature and very rare for an 80s camcorder.
@@CycloneCordVHS the sound works normally, I just transferred it to mono, also the camera supports PCM digital sound, what problems does your camera have?
@@salvatorev_ same as this except mine’s less bad….finally found someone who’ll work on this camera and I’m waiting til the time is right to have this done
@@CycloneCordVHS it's not a big problem when there are only 3 capacitors to change, the issue is assembly and disassembly as well as when the capacitors have eaten the solders on the board and you can't solder new ones capacitors
