A Traveler's Philosophy: Mindful Exploration in Bogotá
This video takes you on a reflective journey through the vibrant streets of Bogotá, Colombia, exploring the city’s rich history, culture, and everyday life. Starting in the historic district of La Candelaria, we delve into the essence of what it means to travel mindfully and connect deeply with the places we visit. Along the way, we reflect on the teachings of Viktor Frankl from Man’s Search for Meaning and how they relate to travel as a transformative experience.
La Candelaria is more than just a tourist destination; it’s a living museum of Bogotá’s colonial past and a hub for modern-day culture. Overlooked by Monserrate, the iconic mountain with a historic church, this area represents a ...

Ohhh my goddddddddddddddd I love Bogotáaaa its amazingggggggggggggg im from berlin and i love Bogotá COLOMBIA
Meeee too! Have you been to Bogotá? If so, what’s your favorite place?
Thanks for the breakdown! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Dude just gave him a $1,922

Hey I gotta a great idea let’s make a video of me getting scammed so we can show the world what getting scammed looks like 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤣 🤡
You need to understand the currency before converting your money to the currency.......that is 100% on you.
You get the price down before you pull out any cash bro. And then if they decide they want more you walk away
It’s not really a scam if you give right in lol
Define a scam: Dishonest* scheme, a fraud.
No its a scam its only 40 not 40.000
I speak Spanish and sometimes we say 40 without the "thousand" because it's obvious. Nobody will assume it's actually just 40 because it would be a ridiculously small account.
You got scam its not 40.000 400
Got scammed with extra steps
The area is not the best though. Many locals shy away from the centro.
As I am an American and don't know anything about geopolitics I can't comment as to how it will affect the neighborhood. I just wanted to say thank you for your efforts, keep up the good work, and my best to you and yours!
I’m in a 3 bedroom duplex in Oklahoma paying 1100.00 per month. I park my car in the garage. I wonder how much per month on this high rise apartment?
Same arabic asansser
I have seen them and these are crazy. How dense residential property this is going to be! The city wouldn’t have evacuation plan for residents
The sales guy was nice, however, 40 mil was a bit overprice....20 Mil would've had been fair for both of you.
You wanna see worst?? Trust & believe there are urban cities here all across the U.S that look way worst than this. Uninhabitable impoverished neighborhoods just blocks away or rite within walking distance from upscale businesses & residential areas. The inequality of poverty & wealth in close proximity to one another in most parts of the U.S is inexplicable disgraceful sad & just downright pathetic!!
Excelente video buen trabajo gracias 👍
Nice video 👍
You seem like a good dude, welcome to our city. I subbed, peace Stevo
Thank you! I love Bogota. The people are nice and it’s a great experience

Americans discovering what normal life is like outside USA.
There is massive number of projects for two reasons, government to catch up with their promise to delivery number of homes, but the other crazy thing is building properties like tuna cans for Airbnb projects. However, prices went way up that is not justified with local income of people. Targeting mostly gringos.
That’s what I was worried about. So that building is mostly for foreigners? Is that a net gain for the city or not?
@ no. These are contractors and private projects. The projects are first to be sold around 50% to secure fund from financial institutions to start building. A lot of people prefer this because foreigners can not secure mortgage locally, instead this way they can have up to three years payment plans until the property is delivered. However, these properties are likely to be between 40 and 70 meters the most at super premium price. Government as well promised free homes to low income citizens, these are not delivered in premium location, but more local neighborhood but condensing a lot of apartments in few projects to deliver over 100k homes.
I’m huge fan of Colombia, culture, people, history, hospitality, customer service and vibe! I went to it many many times, but you made me it more exciting listening to how you view it in your travel! What you just started? You are going to be famous!
Well please don’t build up my ego. I just want to make videos because it’s fun and I enjoy traveling. But thank you! 😊
@ let’s connect. Recently Colombia became my top destination. We can exchange how does it compare to living in North America.
✝️ ❤
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing. There's certainly a good side to the project, it's hard to criticize, as you say, but it raises questions about the disparity of the people in that area, nice drone shot btw. You could probably also question the people who would choose to live there and maybe even their sources of income. It could turn into a very bad thing but I really hope that it just raises the living standards for everyone in that area eventually. That part is really up to people like politicians to promote the good things that could come from something like this though.
It’s interesting because a nearby neighborhood (La Candelaria) has the same architecture and urban design but has been maintained and restored closer to the original. It is a tourist attraction and a place of culture. I think Colombia has many areas like this but they don’t know what they have.
Remember me when you're famous 🎉❤🎉😅
We can do a collaboration!
@@MindfulVisitor For sure!

Hey dude thought I would just give feedback- Your thumbnail has a style that looks like youtube ads. I think it has to do mostly with the font? Anyways, hope this helps you get more clicks!
That’s very useful feedback thanks. I’ve been struggling with how to design them. I tried taking screenshots but then switched to AI generated. I dunno. The thumbnail is 90% of the success of a video. Any other ideas how I can improve? Thanks.
Amazing content bro Greetings from Turkey keep doing great content.
Thank you! Also, I’d love to visit Turkey someday, do you have a channel?
Wow! So beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Hi Max, I just wanted to congratulate you on the incredible work you do sharing your travels through Colombia. It’s clear that this trip was a transformative experience, bringing you new perspectives and helping you move forward. Your videos inspire many people to see life from a different angle and to appreciate every experience. Keep sharing your vision and energy! Wishing you all the best and much success ahead.😊
Thank you! It means a lot to hear that. I have may more videos coming out soon. Stayed tuned. 😁
Muy buen video❤
No puedo esperar por ver mas ⭐️
Gracias amigo!
Love your content! I can't wait to see more!
I love how she was teaching you an english word in spanish hahha " closer!" xD its actually us colombians using english words with a spanish accent. it has become very common for us to say "closet/ closer" when really all we are trying to say is "closet" another common word is "man" we now say man more often than saying "hombre". anyay, great content! thank you for sharing some of our culture with pride to your viewers.
That’s what I suspected. It’s interesting how languages merge and change overtime. I e studied Latin and French as well as Spanish. Our languages are all interconnected like this. I was even trying to do this when I was saying “Closette” lol. I think that’s more French.
In another video coming up I tried to learn Orange Juice. It’s hilarious because I tried saying it in French, Juice d’orange, nope, Spanish is completely different. Seems they invented something completely different and diverged on a completely different linguistic path.
But yes, I love Colombia and how friendly the people are. I have a new video coming out about La Candelaria that I think you’ll like. I’m trying to not just focus on negative stuff. Check it out soon!
@@MindfulVisitor i very much look forward to viewing it! i appreciate your work ! well done! hats off to you!
@@MindfulVisitor I often like to think about some words' origin like that and it's true that some words seem to have come from nowhere, in a lot of languages. I think it maybe goes to show that humans have existed and evolved for longer than we can really imagine in our heads. I like the way you think!
Im sub 958, headed north!
Heyyyy! Thank you kindly!
Do you really need to narrate EVERY SECOND? Especially when all you are doing is repeating yourself?
I’ll make my videos how I want and you’re free to watch something less intellectual. I’m sure there’s some cat videos for you.
@MindfulVisitor I'm convinced YT reccomended to me your garbage channel because I follow Peter Santenello. I'm sure you know who is since he dominates the same content market you have entered, except he has ~3.3 million followers just here on YT. How about Itchy Boots, she is in a similar content market as you another multi-million follower creator. Maybe one day you'll make those numbers. But not until you 🤫
@Springfield-eo8jl Well thanks for leaving comments that helps me grow. Cheers

I can't wait to travel to Bogota, I understand people don't really rate it but I honestly find that appealing. I don't much want to go on a boring played out trip anyway.
I agree. Boring trips for me are sitting on the beach or going to tourist traps. I like authentic adventure, I want to see the real thing. Bogota seemed like a good place to start.
Honestly, the whole city looks HORRIBLE. Bogota looks decades behind all the other big cities in South America like Buenos Aires, Santiago, Sao Paulo... Even the most modern areas in the city just look bad. This city doesn't do justice to Colombians that are the nicest people in the world.
They are showing you 1% of the city, and the decaying one, we do have modern buildings, neiborhoods, same if not better as the cities you mentioned, that “high rise” is low income developments.
@ricardovarela146 Dude, I've been there twice and I'm probably going for the third time for business. Bogota just looks way behind the cities I mentioned even in the richest areas. The only thing this city gets the win is the weather. The weather is perfect.
@@Ballistic-vn6em I don't know, I know Bogotá is not the prettiest city but I love it with all my heart.
@@RoxyArietis it is a nice city full of awesome people indeed. It's just that they need to improve a lot. Honestly, beauty isnt really that important, there are other priorities. I mean, it's the only major south american city without a metro system (they are building it now). Anyways, i didnt mean to offend anyone, i just feel like there's a lot to do.
I LOVE Columbian people. But ya I’ve been around Bogota and it isn’t my favorite. Lots of potential though. I try to keep an open mind. Many more videos coming soon. Thanks for watching.
This looks like many neighborhoods in the US. Same thing different country. If this area is ever revitalized, unfortunately it will probably be gentrified for those who have greater incomes. The corporations will restore it back to it's past glory, however, not for these struggling people.
Yup, you’re right. I have another video coming out that I think you’ll like. Stay tuned. 2-3 days
Exactly!! There's many neighborhoods (with some if not most being so over populated) in the U.S that'll make this place look like a 5 star vacation resort!! 😂😂
Your videos that you post about these poor neighborhoods are only one side of Bogota; why not show the other neighborhoods in the north with their great restaurants, buildings, hotels, and exclusive neighborhoods? Bogota is much prettier than what you're showing; my opinion is that your videos focused to much on the negativity.
I have many coming out about other parts of Bogota and Columbia that I think you’ll like. But yes. You’re right. I need to not just be negative.
Absolutely!!! spot right on true!!! ❤this video.
Thank you! Glad you liked it. ❤
What an experience😯 feels like I felt it with you, great video!🔥
Thanks! I’m glad you liked it. Cheers!
