I remember things reversed when i was younger. I thought Shippuden was better, and the original was not as good, but I was wrong when i rewatched it. The arc with Zabuza was one of the best, and it set the tone for the rest of the show in regards to how the ninja world works and the role of shinobis. However, the show slowly went away from that unfortunately. Naurto felt like a true underdog before he became the decendent of ninja jesus. And RIP Rock Lee's character. I remember when the anime was airing on cartoon network and a poll showed Rock Lee was the #1 fan character. I guess the creator took offense to that lol.
