@@PLUMPTONFILM This is a new engine for me. First year in a KA and I'mstill learning it and breaking it. I've been running a Yamaha KT100 for years and it is crazy how different the two engines are.

We would love to have you! It is G&J Kartway in Camden, OH. The track just got a repave so that's why it looks more like a car track. The edge lines were a board member's idea and they make the track look great! If you have any more questions, just let me know.

I definitely got lucky but I don't think I would have done much different. I normally wear a helmet when I'm flagging exposed stations like T1 but was not able to since I was the only one there and had the radio as well. I've been trying for 3 years now to get an aftermarket in helmet radio solution and I think I finally have someone who can make me a molded set of ear plugs/buds that can double as a microphone. They do stuff for most of the IndyCar drivers so I think that that is a pretty good bet.

Thanks it was a scare for sure, but I'm back flagging this weekend. Unfortunately both this video and the NBC replay paint the incident in a bad light for you but I know your high level of driving standards and the incident was just a mistake/miscommunication. Best of luck at the Glen!

Yeah, there was an angel on station protecting me. The fact that I only got hit by one piece of debris with the amount that cleared the wall was nothing short of a miracle.

@@NolanRempel As a flagger you are kind of programmed to do that. There is still adrenaline that kicks in, but you need to stay calm because panicking only makes things worse. My flag chief was at station within 90 seconds and support staff just had me sit down for a few minute to make sure I was actually ok. Even John Doonan was on the other side of the track inspecting the incident and making sure I was fine. You'll see all of that in the full video when I get time to upload it.

@@HprodFestiva I look forward to it! I was in T8 that day so I got to see some good rain lines. It still blows my mind having such a good sightline to the station 5 without that pedestrian bridge.

1. The vast majority of club level racers tend to have better driving standards and respect the flags more than most pro series. I think this may have to do with the fact that most drivers buy their own equipment and the majority don't have an "insert sponsor" or "dad" to pay for crash damage. 2. One of my all time favorite terms comes from a friend who races in Spec Miata. We are supposed to report all contact with the exception of SM since they are glued to each other for 90% of the lap. We refer to any bumps or pushes as, "negative clearance drafting".

Right at the exit of turn 7 right before Thunder Valley. You can see the cars coming down the hill from T5 into T6. While the absence of the bridge is a bit confusing, It has allowed Mid Ohio to move some walls away from the track and you don't get as much of a "tunnel" effect and more drivers are willing to go side by side.

@@W123KartSport That is where I thought you were. I started attend races with my father in the late 1970s and have raced FF1600 in 95, and FC/FF200 in 96 and FM and FA in 97-99. Thanks for your efforts as a corner worker to help us have a safe weekend.

Indeed I was. I was already in a slide but correcting when the other driver gave me the slightest of nudges. But that was enough to get spun on cold tyres. It was by no means a malicious move but a penalty was given none the less.

I escaped without damage thankfully. Most were not as lucky.

@@W123KartSport Mission Raceway Park, it's a small track that shares it's s/f straight with a 1/4 NHRA drag strip just north of the border on the west coast.

@@NolanRempel Is that the track that has the hairpin right around the top of the drag strip? Looks fun. I mainly flag at Mid Ohio and IMS but I hope to make it up north in the near future. I have heard that CTMP Mosport and Exhibition Place are a blast.

@@W123KartSport Yep, that’s the one! It has two hairpins up there actually, one to the right for T1, and T3 which is an even tighter left near the sand trap. I’ve never been to any other race track IRP, but can safely say from my time on iRacing that CTMP is at least a blast to drive lol.

Though I will say, if that was anywhere else on the track you would have spun in a heartbeat
