Manual Steering Conversion on my Del Sol
Hey guys, today I am going over manual steering conversions, what you need, and a quick section on how to do it. I also talk about the driving experience and try to dispel some bad practices that are commonly spread online.
One thing I forgot to mention, you will need a few parts. Obviously you'll need a TRUE manual rack for the car. These can be sourced from a variety of different places so pick your poison. BUT you NEED a conversion bracket to do this swap correctly. Otherwise you can have issues with binding and there is a section missing in the sub-frame on the powered cars.

First Drive on my Built B-Series Del Sol
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.Год назад
Hey guys, today I wanted to take you along on my (basically) first drive on the new engine. Honestly it is performing pretty good for it's first few miles on the road! Mostly problem free and sounds to be running pretty strong. I have had some issues, which I touch on in this video. Mostly just with getting all the edges smoothed out. But overall I haven't had much to complain about. The vehicl...

Hey guys, today I wanted to make a video talking about LS-VTEC engines, what they are, and how to make them. This idea came from many people curious about that this swap/conversion, so I decided I would share what I know and my experience. Please enjoy! If you ware interested in following my build process as well as the car I put the engine in, I have a playlist here you can watch: ruclips.net/...

Hey guys, today I am putting my build LS-VTEC B Series engine into my 1995 Honda Del Sol. This is an awesome step in the journey and I'm so excited to have my car back...soon. There is still a little more work that I have to do but the car is almost ready. I need to button up a few more things but overall it's in pretty good shape. My (Not Completely Good) Experience of Owning a Used F-150

Hey guys, today I want to talk about what it's been like purchasing and owning this 2017 Ford F-150 for the last month and a half. It currently has 82k miles on it. From my experience so far, the truck has been awesome! But there have been some problems that I want to discuss as well. To start with the pros, I do like how the truck looks, fells, and drives. Hey guys, today I am sharing the process of painting the engine bay on my Honda Del Sol. I'm doing this in preparation for the new engine to be dropped in to make the vehicle a little more clean. This is not intended to be a how-to style video. If you follow the same steps, I guess you could still get the same result. The PERFECT Donor - J Series Swap EP 1

Hey guys, today we are looking at a J Series donor car for the Acura Legend. This initial plan was to fix the minor things and engine related problems to see if the drive train was solid for an engine swap. The TRICKIEST Repair I've Done Yet

Now, that's a crying shame - swapping power for manual. I JUST bought a 97 sol S, 5sp that did NOT come with oem power steering. I'm getting ready to do JUST THE OPPOSITE - install oem power steering and get rid of the manual steering rack. Power steering is the only way to go.

My friend is offering me an LS Integra B18B for like 400 bucks. Good for LS VTEC. As far as rods is concerned. I think it could handle 8000rpms. 9000 on stock bottom end is a bit too far. I have no plans on doing boost anyways. After all B series rods are more beefy than D series rods

I just got a 1995 del sol. 165,000 miles. All my buddy said was Honda...I have had accord, fantastic machine. I am only 120 pounds, mu buddy 230. Say no more. At 75 with cancer my strength is minimal, I love late afternoon cruise. I am looking forward to giving it a try. Any suggestions for gas? like 87, plus, or super. I am not wealthy so it's a real luxury for me. If it starts breaking down like I've read on you tube should I go to Honda dealer? They are pricey but always did a great job. I am totally inept at automobile repairs, My buddy 's complaint seemed legit, him and wife are large individuals. He said no rust, was not cheap. I know it's best to not deal with buddies in business situations. Also it is black inside and outside. In SOFLO that can make it hotter, I hope it has AC. SOFLO you need it, gets very humid and hot. Will it be hard to sell if it breaks? My last accord got 492,000 miles and simply passed away. I bought it new from dealer. THX for advice on this venture. God Bless!DC

Ive had a stock bottom lsv reved up to 8300 rpm for 6 years n it never spun a bearing, all i did was upgrade to a type r oil n water pump, and i used to beat tf out that motor. Head was fully built to with aggresive cams. Typically if you upgrade oil n water pump youll be perfectly fine going up to 8k rpm, now once u hit around 9300 to 10 then id agree but 8 to 8500 is perfectly fine. 8500 is pushing it tho big time. I seen people with just arp rod bolts stock rods, rev up to 9k rpm no problem

I've heard of people getting 400 plus hp on a b20 which has same rods as b18 non vtec. The sleeves usually crack but the rods hold up. The rod bolts usually stretch on the b18 around 350 to 400hp under boosted level. A good set of bearings is all you need and you are good to go if you are all motor. I would only go the route of rod bolts and resize for boosted power. An oil pump would be of most concern in a vtec upgrade all motor.

    • @evolvinginterests

The piston rings I got did not have any special instructions on installation and also didn't appear to have a different side as far as up and down. They didn't have any markings or a bevel on the edge. Also the ARP kit told me to lube both the washer and threads so I did that for that reason.

This is interesting, I have a question. I have a 1995 Honda Del Sol, pretty much stock all around with about 201k miles and I have always wondered why it felt so hard to turn. My fluids have been replaced, belts been replaced, but my steering wheel still feels difficult to turn unlike any other car I've driven. My last idea was that it might be the steering wheel the previous owner installed, and maybe he tightened it too much or something. I was wondering if I could hear your thoughts and opinions on this as it is my daily driver and the harder turning does bother me all the time when I drive.

    • @evolvinginterests
      @evolvinginterests Год назад

Most likely you're having issues with the pump not circulating fluid. If it makes noise or grinds that's a sign that it's bad. I don't think a tight steering wheel will cause that issue though
