1:55 mato tsuki; 2:55 tekiwari; 5:20 right hand position - only heki to ryu! Here we can see a very rare mixed demonstration with elements of infantry (heki-to-ryu, kneeling) and courtly elements of kyudo (like ANKF, standing). My teacher Inagaki-sensei - heki-to-ryu look: ruclips.net/video/nl6lyBhGT8g/видео.html

    素晴らしい角見の効きですね… 割膝は乙矢で引く記憶があったのですが、逆でしたか。

what is the defference between Modern Kyudo and Heki ryu?

    • @BIZEB

There's no shooting like this one, on one knee, in "modern" Kyudo. Though I'd argue whatever is being done now, is by definition modern, or contemporary Kyudo, unless one is specifically in a group that attempts to reenact historical Kyudo. Which isn't the case with this video.

@@BIZEB so, Koryu Archery is also Modern? even the Koshiya Kumiyumi? Heki ryu has changed in the 20 century?

@@LucasHenrique-it2io Koshiya seems to fall into the category of "historical Kyudo", which is an attempt to preserve a technique for, well, historical purposes. In that regard, it isn't modern when it can't actually evolve from whatever source you're drawing the technique from. I'm not sure Heki Ryu, as an all encompassing term, is "historical" in this sense. There are many dojos, and many different people keeping it alive. It inevitably will change. That is the definition of modern I'm using here.

@@BIZEB sorry my ignorance, but, I never Heard about Reenacting Historical Kyudo before... I thought there is no need to reconstruct Historical Kyudo since the Art is still preserved... am I wrong?

@@LucasHenrique-it2io The Art of what, exactly? Kyudo is not about war, or killing. Koshiya wears real armor and pretends to be in battle. It is, in my view, an attempt to preserve a historical tradition. It's not in any way a living art, because it can't be used for what it was meant to be used for. Once the things you used to do stop being done, isn't it inevitable that any attempt to preserve it gets somewhat "lost in translation"? Now, consider Yabusame. This is an old tradition that is still being practiced by Shinto priests. Everything may look historically accurate and ancient, and they may well try to preserve tradition as best as possible, but, that is not the point. It is part of their actual lives. They are actual priests living an actual religion. In any case, this is my interpretation. Heki ryu or any other style of Kyudo are a living thing. You don't have to use a historically accurate bow, or a historically accurate garment. You'll use whatever is being used.
