Thanks so much! Love your show 😊
Great tips and encouragement 👏🏼🎉
Glad you enjoyed the episode!!
I have tried skinny girl and fit wine 🍷 but rather just have a nice Pino or red blend or a malbec!
I completely agree! 🍷
Thank-you for the information
Of course! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for that information! How many carbs are in wine?
Of course! Thanks for watching! And the average glass (5oz) will have 1-4g of carbs depending on the sugar content and grape!
Can't wait to tell my wife!
I hope she is happy to learn this! 🥳🥂
Theyre all pilled out on pharmaceuticals
They just vape and smoke weed. Now those are a LOT better lol
You'll always get trolls, just ignore em! A good ole glass of wine is a human treat.
Thank you John!
coz they smoking meph
Avoiding drugs should be seen as something great.
All alcohol is poison
So is Tylenol, we take that as needed (wanted)
you offer no insight.
The question should be why is there an expectation to drink as if that was the norm?
Because alcohol has been a major part of almost every culture since agriculture and farming came into existence 12,000 years ago. Then again, so has heterosexuality.
Train + bike...
Personally, I don’t feel that train and biking are the best options for the region. The train doesn’t go to the small towns and villages where many of the producers are located. And while I love biking, the distance between smaller towns and villages can take 20-30 minutes by drive, which would be quite the long bike journey! Just my opinion though!
@@thewineceo I'm currently in Reims. Just came back from Epernay. Previously visited Rilly la Montagne, Ay and Avenay. Travelling by 'that' train. And then I just walk across different villages, vineyards and especially vine fields. I spent the last 3 weeks like that. After trying bikes and Ubers I'll say walking with a bottle of champagne is the most rewarding. Unless you're here only to take a pic next to Dom Peri statue.
@@Gr3kiZon3wow, I am so impressed as that must take a long time. Typically I have appointments at smaller grower producers throughout the day, so I can’t rely on the local train as it’s not always on time :) but it sounds like you have more flexibility in your days, which is awesome! Love that you just walk through the vineyards too as I agree - that’s the best way to experience the region!
@@thewineceo if so, next time you're here you MUST visit 'Maison en Champagne Nathalie Liebart'. Her champagne is outstanding and it's only a quick drive from Epernay!
Because alcohol is poison
I like to think that anything in excess can be harmful (food, tv, and even exercise). So I practice moderation! But if you don’t like alcohol at all, this may not be the channel for you 😊 no judgement!
@ no. That’s why Gen z is drinking less
Yeah, sure that's why that generation vapes.
We’ve been drinking wine for thousands of years. It’s not poison.
@ eh. It’s poison
I,m gen Z and drink wine
I’m so glad to hear that! 🙌🏻🍷
0:30 is not pronounced "smell..ier", even though is has to do with the "smell". The correct pronunciation is / sʌməlˈjeɪ/ SUM-əl-YAY and the origin or the word, interestingly enough, has nothing to do with the "smell" - it comes from the latin word "sagma" (packsaddle).
I never knew the Latin origin! So interesting - thanks for sharing! 🥂🥳
@@thewineceo salute!
Those were some really good points!
Thank you! It’s an interesting topic right now!
Great tips and suggestions!
Thank you so much!!
Welcome back CEO !
Thank you!! It’s nice to be back! 🥳🥰🥂
You were so missed! Welcome back!
Thank you so much!! 🥂❤️
Yay! Welcome back! 🎉
Thank you so much!! 🎉❤
Thank you, great video! Do you have any recommendations for the best place to see tunnels that demonstrate life underground when used as refuge during the war? That, along of course as the champagne? :)
Ooh great question! Both Mumm and Pommery have great tours of the tunnels as well as delicious Large House Champagnes. Between the two, I would personally do the Mumm tour. I have heard that Ruinart's tunnels are stunning, but I haven't had a chance to visit them yet! No matter where you go, you can't go wrong!
@@sarahroth14 Thanks.
You explain everything so well and in a non-pretentious way. Thank you for a wonderful explanation of this region!
Thank you for the compliment! I truly appreciate that so much. Thanks for watching!! 🥳🍇
Great video and very informative. I’m still debating on going to Epernay with guided tour or Reims 😅. My husband and I are going only for a day from Paris November 8th
Thank you for watching! That is a difficult decision! If you would like to see the big names and labels, I would do Épernay. If you want a little more history of the region and Notre dame cathedral, I would do Reims. You can’t go wrong either way! Enjoy! 🥂
Good contents and presentation. But when I hear in my latest AirPods on one year is active. Please analyze how you record the video so that both channels are active. Thanks!
Thank you! Yes, I have heard that feedback before and will be sure to address it in future recordings :) thank you!
Great Video, thank you! You can make your Mic record in mono, or switch to mono in edeting! ;)
Thank you so much for the tip! I admit I’m not a tech savvy person - wine is my thing 🙈! So I’m grateful for the help and will swap to Mono on the mic 😉 thanks for watching!!
Please repet this recording you are going over the speed limit could not grasp your diatribe’s in entire presentation thank you
This is a very informative video. Thank you!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!🥂
Great video. One of the most educational I’ve come across.
Thank you so much for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🥂
Great interview. And great book. I have a copy. Terrific to see a focus on the diversity of Aussie wine.
Thank you for watching! 🎉🍷
I'm going to buy Jane and Jonathan's book. Hope our local Australian prices don't rise due to exports. Check out this list of wineries and wine varieties produced. Sam Miranda Arneis Michelini Vermentino Piano Piano Pinot Grigio Francesco Prosecco Pizzini Verduzzo Dal Zotto Garganega (soava) Trimboli Trebbiano De Bortoli Fiano Polotini Grecanica Looks like Italy? No, it's the Victorian Alpine Valleys settled by Italian immigrants from the 1920's onward. Then there is Rutherglen world famous for its fortified wines and Durif, on the palate blueberries, blackberries, dark chocolate, plums, black pepper, espresso, menthol, mocha and black tea that will cellar for decades. Warrabilla Reserve Parola Durif is one of my favourites. Beechworth produces world class chardonnay. Anyone with an interest in wine, visiting Australia, could easily spend a week or two doing cellar door tastings at these three regions in North East Victoria All are within 60 min of Albury Wodonga. Nearly all are small family owned wineries. I'm so fortunate to live in this region. Interesting fact. The world's oldest wine producing Shiraz, Mourvedre, Grenache and Cab Sav vines are in the Barossa. Eden Valley has some of oldest Reisling vines still producing wine. Most were planted in the 1830's. No phylloxera in South Australia.
I love all of this! Thanks for adding some wonderful points for everyone to learn! I agree that you are so lucky to live in the heart of such an amazing wine region! Thanks for listening 🥳🥂
Why does Sarah make no attempt to correctly pronounce Maisons á la Française?
I don’t speak French so sadly my pronunciations are not great! I promise I try, but it isn’t pretty 😉 thank you for watching despite my pronunciations! 🥂
@@thewineceo Sarah, your French pronunciation of all other words were perfect, which is why the maisons stuck out for me. Very good video and tips 👍
Thank you! I’ll keep practicing 😉🥂
Enjoy the time away to re-charge!! Love life & love you!!
Thank you Brandt ❤🥰 Love you!
☀ Enjoy your break!
Thank you so much! 🫶🏼🥂
Fabulous education
Thank you so much! 👏🏼🥂
Great information and well presented. I live in Perth and have access to the lesser known region of Swan Valley (excellent wines) and Margaret River. Many people don't realise that Australia actually has some of the oldest vines in the world and due to the unique terroir and climate, I consider some wines to be like Old World wines on steroids. I have bought several cases of wine from Taylors Wines (no affiliation) which would absolutely crush the current "popular" international Australian wine market. As an example, Taylors Wines in South Australia won the International Champion 2022 award from VINUS for the 2020 Estate Shiraz label, and last year received a perfect 100 point score from the VINUS panel for the 2022 Taylors Heritage Label Shiraz. I was lucky to get a case direct from the cellar, before major restaurants around the world bought all remaining stock and sold out within days. The following is obviously my own biased opinion, but the Yellow Tail red wine sold in America is like having the worst tasting American beer (according to US statistics) representing American beers. No one I know touches that stuff, which is why it is shipped off (or should I sarcastically say deported) to you guys. It would be interesting to see how Jonathan Ross views this.
Hey! Thank you for watching and sharing all of that AMAZING knowledge on your home 😍🙌🏻🍷 I’m so jealous you live in one of the best wine regions in the world (imo!!). And I completely agree that we don’t get enough top quality Aussie wine here in the US. I’m not familiar with Taylor Wines, but will definitely look them up. Thank you for sharing!! 👏🏼🙌🏻
Great video. Really enjoyed doing it! And glad Joey was so enthusiastic in the background😂
It was so fun to taste this together!! And Joey can join the show anytime 😜🍷
Very interesting episode. Small criticism is the odd pronunciation of Beaujolais. It is Bojolay and not Boojolay.
Thanks for watching and for the quick correction 🍷🙏
Australian Wines: Henschke, Penfolds Grange, Yalumba, Wynns, Mollydooker, d'Arenberg, St Hugo, Vasse Filius ... Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noirs ... Torbeck, Tarrell ...
Yes! So many great Aussie producers! Thanks for watching! 🥂🇦🇺
Many thanks Sarah and Marilee, this is so inspiring ❤ I am following... I also one day would like to leave a mark in the wine industry 😉
Thank you for watching Michelle! So glad you enjoyed the episode and no doubt you can do anything you put your mind to 🙌🏻🥳🥂 I can’t wait to hear about the amazing things you will do!!
Truly such a wonderful book! 🥂
You said the Rhone valley.. There is the Northern Rhone & Southern Rhone.. and they are over an hour from each other!! Second, most visitors, contact the domains to arrange visits, it’s not about wine tour, this is not tourism, this is wine tasting at the highest level
Hey! Thanks for watching! This was my final episode of a 6 month mini series. For those who followed the mini series, they have much more context to this overview of my personal opinions from my 8 week trip. I think I mentioned that I only traveled to the northern Rhône and that I would love to visit the south in the future so I can make a more informed assessment in the future :) and I agree - in my travel tips episodes throughout the mini series, I always recommend booking direct with the chateaus and domains - but you’d be surprised at how many offer cellar door walk ups, especially in Hermitage. Thanks again for watching!
Fascinating
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!

Will recommend Ratafia made in the Champagne region, a vin doux naturel, if you have a sweet tooth. Your grandmother's plum compote.
That's a great analogy - I agree that it tastes a lot like a plum compote. So delicious!
Ratafia at the end of a meal, if you have a sweet tooth 😂🥰
* The name Champagne of course refers to 'chalk', chalky soils.
Same for the Grande and Petit Champagne districts of the Cognac region.
Yes, great comment! Thanks for watching! @@ninetyZeven
