I recently bought an old book, inside were some old newspaper cuttings. One for Captain Jersey De Knoop, of Calvely Hall Cheshire. Killed in action, 1916.

Played here a few times since, and it gets more wonderful every time!

I believe these ha e now been demoed after many failed attemps to get funding to restore them to there former glory we did it a few years back its sad to see them go but unfortunitly thats the way the world is now how long ago did u go and film there if u dont mind me aaking ??

Hope someone can restore these beautiful homes back it would be a shame to lose them so much beauty still there 🤔😊

This place was rented and they filled it with bundles of rubbish packed to the rafters, charging people to take away rubbish then dumping it in there then just gave up the tennancy and landlord was left to foot the bill to get it disposed of properly and get the building empty, not 100% but sure cost over a million

I have already wrote there should be a ikea here because you have to go miles to get to one. But just look at the car 🚗 park space.

This place is huge why don't they do something productive with it.

My father worked here for over forty years days noons and nights as a fireman on the kilns.

Why not build an ikea here. It would make a fortune plus jobs.

On the opposite side of Etruscan street was once the huge Etruria gas works, all built in beautiful red brick, alas now long gone.

Folks you need to stay out - the inside is collapsing due to dry and wet rot. It has recently been bought by a properly developer and the whole place has been boarded up and a perimeter fence installed. Furthermore you will piss off local residents by entering private property adjoining the grounds. Not worth the aggro

The front door had been barricaded shut when we tried here last. I wanted to use this place for a photoshoot with a cosplayer.

You can see how beautiful that building must have been before it was destroyed.

I worked at Twyford for a decade, started out in this building in the finance dept, it was a busy place back then but then the company moved all of its operations to alsager, i actually thought that this had been converted into private flats, how sad to see it in such a state, thanks for sharing

I can't understand why churches are abandoned. I wonder how long that lovely old building will stand there in that state. Such a shame.

I wonder why anyone would leave a house with all their belongings behind, unless it was an old person who passed away. Surely, it's up to the local council to do something about it. Such a shame.

Lived in manchester 1964-2003. Council always labour,always crap. This is just laziness. Only ever concerned about the gleaming high rise london want to be city centre. Dont give a damn about anything away from it. Bunch of philistines. Disgusted with English Heritage as well. No doubt be allowed to collapse so they can build a load of crap new builds on the site. Reminds me of my old local, the Wagon and Horses on stockport rd in longsight. Idiots in the town hall allowed that to be flattened and flats built on the site. Then theres Tonge Hall, another gem in danger.
