That's more like it. We save because it's hard but also like that last block jumping room, just like golfers you sometimes get the (yips) when your fingers arn't conected to your brain and you take one step to far. Top work👍.
@@pazza6480 thanks!
There's a way to use save crystals once you beat the main game! You will unlock a new game mode!
@@georginagiethoorn6543 new game + mashed sense.
They added the skater boy because in the mid 90's skating was very popular, you had Tony hawk who was popular in Europe, so they decided to add the skatepark haha, it's also why they added dinosaurs, jurassic park was popular in the mid 90's when this game came out
@@georginagiethoorn6543 wow that’s hilarious 😂
Well done mate, but no comentery after about 10 mins, think you pulled your mic lead out. Wanted to hear what you said when you got squished by that sneaky bolder, ha ha. Onward and upward👍
@@pazza6480 I hate that happening. I said !@&?$! Lol
This part is really designed to be confusing! It's like a puzzle box.
@@jaranowska it was confusing 🫤 Atlantis here we come!
The first two blocks where touching each other back to back. The lever opens the door in the first block room, go back there. Bit confusing this bit but nearly out. Keep calm and carry on. 👍
@@pazza6480 it was confusing, I appreciate the tip. Atlantis 😁
For fighting enemies, it's best to try to get behind them, rather than run around them. They have more difficulty than Lara to turn around so it's their weakness.
@@jaranowska I’m usually panicking
@@Imcoming4_u 😄
Great, you did it. I am enjoying seeing you fail (just like i did when i first played this- a lot) and then the sheer joy when you beat a level or the whole game. Hope you play the others coz i will be cheering you on. 👍
@@pazza6480 thanks! I plan on playing all of them. I have 4,5,6 reordered
If you're going to play all the remastered TR games, are you going to do the DLCs like Unfinished Business and Golden Mask?
@@FloatzelMan yes, in fact that’s a question I have should I play the dlc first before tr2 or after
@@Imcoming4_u I have a TR Remaster first time playthrough playlist from another RUclipsr I have saved to watch another time. I just skipped to the last TR1 vid on his list to check comments. I also looked this up too as I've only played TR1 and the first level of Unfinished Business. Comments from both that RUclips video and Reddit, I've literally read over 100 and most of them are like: "Unfinished Business is insane" and "Unfinished Business is way too hard and level layout is so complicated" and "Unfinished Business came out just before TR3 and should be saved until at least after beating TR2" and "Unfinished Business is meant for hardcore/veteran TR players" and so on. Only playing the first level of Unfinished Business myself, I'd say do that at least after TR2 or after playing everything including other DLCs and come back to Unfinished Business last. I just started the 2nd level of Unfinished Business, but I'm going to cancel that and go to TR2 and go back to Unfinished Business much later. Sorry if this comment is so long.🤣
@ that was perfect. Thanks I’ll probably do the same and just go on to tr2 .
@@Imcoming4_u about the DLC's, just know that the expansion of tomb raider 1 continues right after the ending of the game, the DLC starts where you end the game. But I'm warning you, Unfinished business, the DLC of tomb raider 1 is not so fun, it's extremely difficult and the levels are a mess, they feel like unfinished bonus levels that they just threw together, I don't like it. BUT, the DLC of tomb raider 2 and 3 are absolutely amazing. They are complete new games with their own stories, unique levels and new locations and even have cutscenes. I love the golden mask and the lost artifact expansions, some of my favorite levels in there. Especially the secret level😮
@ I’ve heard that unfinished business is more frustrating than fun. I might save it for last.
51:00 It's not the eame boulder from earlier. That one had fuse behind it, not the shotgun. The trick there is to run in front of it, and get to the alcove before the boulder blocks it. There's one of the fuses. You also need to put the gray box under another hole right before the cowboy room to climb up into the gap above, there should be a lever that opens a gate near the conveyor belt, I think? Third fuse is in the room with the cowboy. This is the most confusing level until TR3's London mess, but you can absolutely continue from where you left off and go all the way back to the start, remember that fuses are all before lava room, I don't know if your 6 shells are enough for cowboy, if they are, you can skip the entire fuse section. Try going forward and see if you can get back to cowboy room. You'll need to jump down to him. Always keep multiple saves per level and rotate between them. 3 should be enough.
@@KasumiRINA what a mess lol thanks for the info idk what’s going to happen .
I highly recommend to restart this level. Let Lara die and instead of loading the game, press right and restart level. The only thing you need to focus on first, is getting your weapons back, you need 3 fuses, find them first. You can deal with the cowboy later, he won't even notice you are there if you just get the fuse and go put them in the machine. When you enter the lava room with the cowboy, at the very beginning, there's a fuse on the ground! Just pick it up and go back and put it in the machine, the cowboy won't even notice you if you just pick it up and head back out.
Look at 21:15, the fuse is there. See the hand symbol, pick it up and go put it in the machine
@@georginagiethoorn6543 where would I be with you? Thanks
@Imcoming4_u just let Lara die and then press right in the menu until you see "restart level". When you restart the level, save your game, Find 3 fuses, put them in the machine, get your weapons back and then you can go fight the cowboy, once you eliminate the cowboy, he will drop something, pick it up and just continue the level
There's no need to restart, as right after this section there's a platform with lever right above the cowboy. You can simply jump down and go all the way back from it. Just don't explode the rocks, that is the point of no return. I know coz I also missed fuses, got shotty, and THEN went back to fight cowboy and get fuses. Which glitched the container they move, but it was fixed in later patch.
@KasumiRINA yes in theory you can do that, you can even finish the level without ever going back but I think it's better if he just starts over and just redo everything properly, he might blow up the tnt anyway and yes it might glitch out, it's just better to redo the level, he made such a mess haha I love it
More info; You need the pistols and the magnums because i don't think you will find enough shotgun ammo to deal with whats ahead.
@@pazza6480 ok thanks I’ll restart the level
You will automatically get the pistols at the start of next level if you miss them here.
OH DEAR i think you just messed this up. you'r not supposed to enter the lava zone yet and you've saved over it. This is how it's supposed to go. You have one fuse in the panel. The block in front of the drill you'r supposed to push not pull and as soon as it is clear you stand on it and there is a lever above you. pull the lever to open the door next to the conveyor belt where a switch is. but first go in to the room with the man and pick up the fuse, witch you have done. turn on the coveyor and get the fuse. next you have to beat the boulder run by jumping the barriers and getting to the room before being squashed. get the third fuse and go to the panel and put in the fuses. the house on the crane crashes down and inside are the pistols. get the pistols and kill the man who drops the magnums then enter the lava zone. I don't know if not having the pistols will mess up the game but the path you are on comes round above where you first saw the man and i think you might be able to jump back. anyway i hope this helps.
@@pazza6480 I messed this up! I’m restarting the level over if I can. Thanks
Yeah he just skipped the entire first part where he had to get his weapons back by running through the lava room and just skipped a whole part with the cowboy. Speed runners take his route but you are left without weapons. The game will eventually give you your weapons back but he should take the proper route and find all his weapons back himself. He can just restart the level if he let's Lara die
@@georginagiethoorn6543 no need to restart, get shotgun from secret jump from lava platform to the right, then run back to cowboy (there's a platform above with a lever), shoot him with shotty, get his magnums, then go to skater and get uzis. Pistols are automatic on next level. No need to do fuses to get all weapons.
@@KasumiRINA yes I know, but he's very new to this, I think it's better to let him start over, instead of having him do all kinds of acrobatics just to get back and get confused even more
@@georginagiethoorn6543 Eh, it's not like returning in River Ganges to do the other optional path or Lud's Gate chaos, there's a very obvious jump down to the room with cowboy, they kind of ruined it by removing red light, it was much prettier and more unique before the patches IMO.
I have finished the game before, as a kid, but getting to this part absolutely got lost... Game expects you to grab a fuse and turn around when you see a cowboy shooting at you, and take your pistols back, but you can go forward, and still complete the level, just missing a secret. One of worst-designed levels in the series IMO. After this the game will just try to kill you, and difficulty keeps up in Tomb Raider 2, like it becomes the new norm and doesn't get easier! XD
@@KasumiRINA I just finished playing that part and it’s horrible it should be up by tonight RUclips pretty slow.

Save before a big jump or similar, it takes 2 seconds. And it takes 2 seconds to reload (push down on left stick). You then can experiment and learn. Hopefully you are already doing this method by now.
@@zeniktorres4320 thanks for the tip. I did start saving more often in later videos
In the PS1 version, originally, you could only save by using save crystals scattered in the levels, which were limited.
That was so funny bro. You can save after every difficult jump if you want.

Save frequently and as much as you like, Push down on right stick to get to the save screen quickly. To do the flip in mid-air, just press X and then quickly press O while running, just quick, X and then O
@@Oobe I’ll get it eventually. You saw me trying , but I couldn’t get it.
Another tip I would recommend is to change your walk input, it's easier to have the walk button on the R1 and the look button on the L1, you can remap all your controls in the controls menu
@@Oobe I’m going to try that. Square is my walk right now. Thanks.
@Imcoming4_u here's my control scheme: walk = R1, Jump = X, action = triangle, weapon = L2, Look = L1, Roll = O, Secondary (Shooting/grabbing) = R2
@ same except the walk. Not sure about R1 but I’ll take a look.
Here's a good gameplay tip; if an enemy is chasing you and you're running away from it. Just jump forward and quickly press the roll button while you're in the air. Lara will flip around in mid-air and you can immediately target the enemy that's chasing you. You don't need to run around and turn to target it, just jump forward while running and quickly press the roll button, you have to do it kinda fast tho but this helps a lot in combat
There's indeed a huge controversy going on regarding Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider Franchise. Tomb raider was created by a British studio called Core Design, then the Americans came in and bought them out, from that moment on, the franchise went down hill. They americanized the game and the character of Lara Croft. Lara is a sassy, posh British adventurer, she's a badass femme fatale that gives no effs, but in the reboots they turned her into this emotional wreck with daddy issues that cries constantly, needs sidekicks to carry her and the worst thing of all, she apologizes for the artifacts she finds and hands them back to the indigenous people 😂 the game is called tomb raider, she shouldn't feel bad for raiding tombs, this is a videogame...what the hell is that about?! That's not Lara Croft, that's an imposter! Lara is not a hero trying to do the right thing, she goes on adventure and seeks out ancient treasure just for thrill of it. She doesn't even sound proper British in the reboots, it's just an American voice actress putting on an English accent but it sounds so fake, us Europeans can easily tell. Lara is a gymnast, she does handstands, backflips, acrobatic movements, she wields duel pistols or uzis, in the reboots she doesn't do anything but cry and uses a bow as her main weapon. If they would've called the reboots "Sarah Loft, the protector of artifacts", no one would care or get mad, but because they use the name Lara Croft and tomb raider so they can make more sales off her legacy and ruin her character, that's why we get mad. I grew up with Lara, I was 9 years old when I first saw her, she was my idol and I wanted to be like her. Girls looked up to her and were inspired by her, and boys loved her for her femme fatale looks and coolness. The reboot Lara is just a whiny crybaby, she's depressed and no one wants to be her and they even took away her curves and outfits, she's insufferable. Also, The classic games don't hold your hand, you have to figure it out yourself! That's how a game should be! In the reboots they have waypoints and tell you to go to a beam of light, they tell you where to jump by using paint on walls, then there's 5 hours of boring cutscenes no one cares about. It's just a walking simulator where they tell you what to do and they have you fight hundreds of soldiers in ultra HD graphics, it's just not tomb raider anymore. Imagine making a game called tomb raider and then make the character regret doing the actual raiding and cries about it. This game was created by Europeans, there's a lot of European history and mythology in these games, the atmosphere, the solitude, all of it is stripped away in the reboots.
@@georginagiethoorn6543 I know how you feel. I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s everything I love is ruined now. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, James Bond, comic books too, it’s sad. I am saving a lot of money lol.
@@Imcoming4_u I know, also, this is not a spoiler at all but in tomb raider 2, if you go to Lara's home, you can find her treasure room and trophy room where she stores all the artifacts she found on her previous adventures. She's proud of it and puts them on display, she's definitely not crying about it and giving them back to the indigenous people. According to the new American studios, this was problematic, they even had to put in a disclaimer saying they don't align with these views 😂 ffs, it's just a video-game. Imagine if they put up disclaimers in games like mortal kombat saying they don't align with violence, it's so silly
@ I saw that when I started the game. I just rolled my eyes. Tomb Raider 2 seems so far away to me right now.
Absolutely correct. Well said sir. Agree with every word you wrote.
Release the shooting button after killing an enemy. Else Lara will keep shooting the corpse!
@@NEC234 Lara just wants to be thorough.
Favorite TR 1 level. And maybe my favorite of the original trilogy.
If you want to dive, just hold down the walk button and jump forward
@@georginagiethoorn6543 okay, i was trying to do it like in assassin creed.
I always save the game at the beginning of every level, and I never overwrite that save. So, I make a new save every level, So that when I finished the game, I can just load up any level that I want to play again. It's good to have a save at the beginning of every level, that way you always have every level available to play whenever you want.
There's actually a trophy for finishing the first game with 87 saves or less. That's pretty easy to do. Because you can go through the first 4 levels easy without saving once, and after that, if you die in a certain level, you can just restart the level by toggling to the right in the load/save menu... I'm not sure what the average save count is for most players but mine is pretty high, I usually save before I have to do certain jumps or enter rooms... But it differs from player to player
My saves are high as well. And I do the same as you do. It makes it more approachable and allows me to play the game more often for shorter periods and to experiment with different approaches.
