2 years ago all the builders were telling fulltime creators that they didn't need a RTX 40 (this video was before 7900 released and even then 4080 is a better option) ... but PowerGPU, & NZXT (they're in a worse place now), are just a couple of them. Saved the receipts too but if you want to say manufactured for rage go ahead.

Yeah, given the anger you're expressing here for something that seems... disproportionate.. and also a lot of cases probably true (considering the 4090 is like $2,300 and a lot of people really don't need it), I'm gonna say yeah, probably manufactured rage.

@@shadeland you tell that to the full-time creators, animators, editors, and designers that were waiting on the RTX 40 and its benefits. You obviously don't move in that realm and consider creator to be a mere streamer. When a GPU (at the time $1700-1900) shaving 30% time on many projects it allowed for more work. If a consumer submits an order and specifies the requirements then the vendor should honor those requirements not mislead to clear out old stock.

@@GMDGeek There are plenty of use cases (most perhaps) where the increase in price to get the very top of the line isn't worth it. A new content creator on a budget editing 1080 footage and exports three times a week isn't going to see the benefit of a 10% reduction in export times as significant. They're not going to be able to realize the benefits of the top of the line cards, and they're probably better off spending that money on a good 300 watt light and defuser or a 32-bit float recorder. I make my living doing video, but I export a few times a week. If it takes 20 minutes or 16 minutes doesn't really matter to me. Any power user that need to squeeze every second out of an export is going to probably know exactly what they need. Besides, if you're new at content creation and on a budget, I'd tell people just get a Mac mini base model. The value there blows everything else out of the water.

@@shadelandLet me see if I understand you correctly; you feel that a consumer of a product should not be upset if they go to a vendor with a list or requirements and that vendor tells them they are wrong and need something else? Does that sum it up? Most dedicated professionals (freelance or enterprise), no matter what field they are in, when they make a request of a vendor for a product usually have an understanding of what they need. In this case, a GPU. If a video editor, an animator, developer, or the like specify their requirements which includes a certain level of GPU to provide them with 30-40% performance increases in everything from encoding, compiling, rendering and more allowing them to complete their work faster, give them more time to work on other projects or to pivot and correct if something should change on the project they are currently working on they should be respected. Example: If I request a RTX 4000 SSF Ada of a vendor but they come back and tell me I’m wrong and really want a 4070 super or a 4090 I would be upset. Upset by their lack of professionalism & their clear lack of understanding and respecting what I specified in my order. They have no insight to what my projects or use cases are as they only requested on their form hardware not use case no do they understand the technical background of the individual making the request. In this case, AI use case where the 4000 SSF Ada at a lower cost has better functionality for AI do to its specifications and configurations. So again, you say manufactured rage but I’ll go with justified rage based on multiple experiences with colligates, friends, and associates that do move in the realm of IT, Creation, are knowledgeable, and were all told the same thing, that a RTX 30 would be just fine when ALL of them did in fact require a RTX 40 GPU to support their daily needs that pay their bills. I do get your perspective though as you are lumping all creators that were being told it wasn't worth it as new to creation and from the sounds of you you mean streamers. Creators for this purpose (and my fault for not better defining it in a 2 year old 60 second video) are those that do creation fulltime for the source of income and while for a couple may include streaming are by no means limited to that. But are again developers, video editors, designers, and more.

@SL-oe6tj that's what's i put in my long format video. This 60 second, 2 year old short was aimed at builders literally pushing old cards in place of new ones that multiple creators I work with requested. Use cases and budget should drive build and if you ask for something the builder shouldn't lie about benefits or capabilities

The lighting in game and shadows and colors all look very dull and bland

@jodialaggia32 we built a big world when we all sat down at first then the next time we met up one of us had built a lot. On PC we were able to split the save to essentially make two different saves but I'm not sure if it would work on console

I've had to go back to the city each time to invite friends already on my list.

@KingJaz4u this was posted before release of 7900xtx which I own but I will take a 4080 or 4090 over the 7900xtx for editing, AI, design or more. If it's casual uses or gaming a 7900xtx or 4070 super are just fine. I'm gonna guess you're an AMD fan that will start with the best price. Go watch the longer video pinned in my comments then make your troll comments.

@@Eberscence I'd go to the EVGA website and buy there adaptor cable so ensure quality. I've personally seen and know of a few people that used a adaptor cable that wasn't specifically made for the UPS and end up melting. Both for RTX 40 and AMD 7000.

@Sonicstillpoint83 price leaks for the 5090 put it at or over $2000 with my guess the average 5090 will cost $2300-2400. I wish AMD didn't come out and state they weren't pushing to compete high end, we need more competition to help lower pricing. People many times define full-time content creator differently. Those investing in a 4090/5090 are those pushing tools (video editing, design, animation, AI, etc.) to limits not someone that sits down to casually stream. I can tell you running an AI rig at home even with a 4090 in it I can peg the gpu & system resources to near max without much effort.

Note: This video is almost 2 years old BUT the reason I was and still am "upset" is because full-time dedicated content creators (not casual streamers that make content) were being told that the RTX30 was a better performer than RTX 40. Multiple benchmarks, platforms, and applications all state and document performance increases with RTX 40; ranging between 25% and as high as 40%. As a user of DaVinci Resolve, Affinity Photo/Designer/Publisher, 3D-Design, AI, OBS, and a few other apps I can definitively state I saw huge performance increases when I upgraded from my 3090 to a 4090. @danuglw1205 i think confusion comes with all the various models of cards out there. A 4070 Super for $650 I'd say is entry and 4080 super / 7900xtx flagship level with both being around $1000. 4090 isn't flagship for gaming to me but rather content creations (video, photo, animation, AI, encoding, development) which is why it's more. I do agree pricing needs to be more realistic

@@GMDGeek unfortunately the 4090 is marketed as a gaming card though(a monster one) and 4080 was launched at 1200$. I think we have been desensitized to pricing at this point. It used to be hard to justify pc building. Now i would recommend it to almost no one. Although previous gens can be had for reasonable prices. I just got the gigabyte waterforce 6900xt for 320$ after tax on amazon.

If the 3080Ti works for you then by all means stick with it, in the world of gaming there is little reason to step past it. Where you will notice a significant improvement is when you step into the world of video editing, design, AI, encoding, etc. It comes down to use cases and budget. This video was made almost 2 years ago and if i had to recommend a card to anyone it would be the 4080 Super or 4070 Super BUT if you have a working RT30 card and its meeting your needs stick with it as the RT50 is on the horizon. I really wish AMD would have stuck to competing with the high end GPU.

Yes, it's expensive but again if an individual is a full-time video/graphics/AI creator (meaning this is how you pay the bills) the 4090 in the long run does pay for itself. For my work flows and projects I run my 4090 outperforms my 4080 by a noticeable margin. For most though I'd go with a 4080 Super or even a 4070 Super. Comes down to knowing your budget, knowing your use cases and going from there.

@@GMDGeek I can't justify the price gouging and bought the RX 7900 XTX instead. I voted with my wallet and bought an appropriate card for my use case with a better price to performance.

@wildBill83 7900xtx is a solid card, my son has one in his PC. I wish AMD had not decided to not directly compete for higher end market of GPUs which would have helped lower costs.

Well first off you are correct and I'd honestly say that the motherboard is currently the weakest link as it failed to keep up with the traffic from new CPUs, GPUs, RAM, and higher speed USB. But that's an entirely different topic. If you are just gaming - most GPUs will do just fine. But if you do full-time content creation (not a casual streamer or casual gamer) video editing, image creation, encoding, processing, AI work, design work, and more then a GPU makes a huge difference. Keep in mind when you upgrade to a new next-gen GPU if you have an older CPU it will bottleneck. When a next-generation GPU can shave 30% off a 10-hour job then it's more than worth it. In your defense, a 60-second video from 2 years ago doesn't touch upon all that. Nor was it enough time to dive into Pre-Built shops not listening to their customer's requests. @user-ut7vi6mr5d ill take a 4080 super 95% of the time. If I'm 100% dedicated to video/photo/animation/ai involved workforce every day then I'd take the 4090.
