Very down 2 earth guy Superfoot. Does not come off as bring cocky or arrogant like some other material atrist/ actors
Rip to the warrior monster man Everett eddy, great memories 🙇🏾♂️
“Humility is the root of all knowledge.-Buddha
Ah , Jeff, with all due respect , I would have stopped throwing that left side kick. Eddie would use that to time his punches.
This is why love and respect Bill superfoot Wallace he is a down-to-earth type person
MONSTER MAN
humble way to cover up his ego ...brilliant
I fought in the 1975 top ten nationals in St Louis..heavyweight final was Lewis vs eddy..greatest pt fight I ever saw..eddy won 6-4 if I remember correctly but the most amazing thing about that was that eddy drop side kick Lewis's side kick..unhearded of because of Joe's quickness..Wallace..Jim Butin..can't remember who won lightweight..a great tournament
Cool videos man. You should open the comments. your videos are good
猪木戦以外のモンスターマンの試合初めて見ました。ありがとうございました。
Everette eddy is my uncle as we sit here and watch these videos he's telling me all of these stories I wish i could've been there.
Your uncle was one of the greatest! I hung out with him, Johnny Lee, Howard Edwards and others when I was a kid. I'd leave my dojo and go to his and he would tolerate me and my friends in Detroit. A great man!
Dominique Speed Everette (Monster Man Eddie) along with Johnny Lee were my instructors at Karate Institute on 7 Mile Rd in Detroit during the 70’s. Those days are some of my fondest memories (except for my nickname of Fat Boy) that I was coined with. LOL, It was his term of endearment and form of tough love to inspire me to work harder to lose weight. He was always in my corner and I remember when he was training for a big match which if memory serves me correctly was to be against a boxer I’d stop by the dojo on my way home from school to watch him train which always ended up with him having me spar with him. Yes I was always terrified but in the end it made me a better martial artist. To this day I often think of him and smile. A really good man!
I remember when Eddy started fighting full-contact, he got knocked out over and over. Turned out he had a glass jaw.
Michael, would you happen to have the fight between Joe Lewis, and a young man at that time, by the name of Charles Curry, from Rochester, NY? Also, Mr. Curry fought "The Monster Man" at that same tournament. If you happen to have film of that fight, that would certainly bring back a lot of memories. Thanks!
I have a lot of film from that tournament. I will have to look at the master reel, but I don't think I do because I do not have another fight with Mr. Everett..
Michael Kinney Mr. Kinney, thank you for responding to my request. I would also be interested in any footage between Mr. Curry and Joe Lewis. I was told that it was a great fight. I just wish that I could have been at that tournament. What great memories you have. Those were the giants of point fighting, during the "Golden Era." I find it humorous to hear people call point fighting back then, " A Game Of Tag." Thanks for your time!
my little 8mm camera with 2" reels did this filming.
Much appreciated. In the UK in those days, used to only read about these point tourneys..always intrigued since seemed much more interesting than the Japanese style ones I was used to in the UK & Europe. Eddy was rated no1 in one year?..considering that its a shame not much footage left of him. Likewise other US top point fighters at the time, theres no Flem Evans videoclips at all for example, Joe Hayes, nor Mike Warren. I waited 40 years or so to see this! *Many thanks* again for sharing.
He is an amazing example.
Yes, I wish more athletes could learn from Bill's example.
Yes, there were some amazing fights from these days.
Yes, standing next to each other it was really obvious. He was huge.
Yes, he was, standing next to each other, it was really obvious.
Yes he was huge. Jeff did get his licks in.
Yes it was. A young Joe Lewis.
Thanks Sarah. I will check your songs too.
Was that Joe Lewis refereeing the fight between Smith and "Monster Man?" It looked like him. Joe was well known for wearing a black gi at tournaments which is why I am guessing that may be him. Anybody know?
I love this guy!
This is really good! you must be a proud dad, take a look at my singing videos on my channel
We are honored to see Dr. Gyi in action. Excellent stuff.
Thanks for your comment!
Awesome, Dr Gyi is the quintessential MA Master. I have never met anyone who is both exceptionally skilled in combat and healing arts. If you don't know ne had a stroke recenty but is rapidly recovering. Send him you New Year's blressings to help him heal faster.
The Good Old Days....
Eddy was a real animal back then.
