Never underestimate the nociceptive generation peripheral tissue can cause. It's not all in the brain. NOI are not good sources for pain science

Man, this is painful to watch! A couple of academics with all the time in the world pfaffing about talking about esoteric nonsense. Yes of course pain is worse when you’re in a bad mind set. So tell me how to put this into practice in a 5min visit for my pts in a busy, underfunded pain/addiction med clinic. There’s no help for these pts except drugs in our terrible system so tell me how this is put into practice. (Canadian doctor here)

While I'm sure Tim is a great teacher, I've abandoned the session only 14 minutes into it after listening to what seemed a very disorganized rambling without any practical advice for how we help our clients deal with the real problem of validating their internal experience or how to turn this into an avenue for recovery from persistent pain and its functional impact. I know Tim and Joanna can do better but didn't feel that continuing to listen to this session was going to produce anything that hadn't emerged in the first 14 minutes. Perhaps consulting with David Butler about effective teaching strategies for these Noigroup Clinical Discussions would be a good idea.

Dry needling is an unbelievably effective way to reverse both peripheral and central sensitization. Dry needling treats myofascial trigger points which are the hallmark of myofascial pain syndrome. Myofascial pain syndrome is the most common manifestion of chronic pain

Thank you so much, it's lovely to get an explanation about pain and how it's become unbalanced. Also useful to know that inflammatory response is useful too 🤔 Sounds like letting the body cope in the natural way in the acute stage of injury is better than taking NSAI drugs 🤔 Isn't the body amazing? We've so much more to learn🌟
