I'm in my mid-60's now, but loved this show (and later "Murder, She Wrote") because of its top notch cast and especially the many great guest stars of the past (where you wouldn't find on any other programs.)

Shows like the love boat are the American classics of the television golden era. What ever show they try to copy will not succeed, like Hawaii five o. Those were brilliant. The stories, actors and the music were excellence. These people should be creative and make there own shows..it was a happy and romantic time. I was a girl then. Breaks my heart to see what they have done to American values. 🛳️❤

If they made a show like this now it would be called Captain Stabbin, the crew would be smuggling coke, a pedo ring would be operating onboard, there’d be min 2 murders p/show, 5 hospitalised over-doses and an army of ex-sas dudes protecting the boat from pirates.
I guess it's a time machine to bring back all the wonderful memories 80s was really an amazing station to the long trip.
