Hunting The Buffalo / Fishers Hornpipe - Traditional- 2023 Martin 00-15m
Hunting The Buffalo is played at old time jams. It is usually in the key of A but one of the fiddlers transposed it to D. I know I used to play it on guitar without a capo, but arthritic fingers has made it fairly impossible to play bar chords so now I use a capo. I’ve played Fishers Hornpipe for a long time, but recovering it is still a work in progress.
The guitar is the all mahogany 2023 Martin 00-15m with the capo on the 2nd fret. I’m playing Hunting The Buffalo in G position although it ends with an E minor so the actual keys are A major and F sharp minor. Fishers Hornpipe is played in C position so the actual key is D major.

Big Sciota is a tune I used to play at guitar jams. I relearned it from sheet music. National Lancers Hornpipe is a tune I learned from Cole’s 1000 Fiddle Tunes, a version of which was first published in the 1880s. I was in rehab for a month after foot surgery and got home yesterday, December 22. I want to know if they last as long as elixirs....nobody seems to want to do that test cause it takes months.
They do last a long time but for me it's all about the sound really. The tone and feel of the Luxe are absolutely wonderful. Don't think I'll ever go back to the phosphor bronze type.

Well done!! I enjoyed that very much! It was hard to catch all the words because the 12 string guitar has so much volume. I have had that issue before. If you're recording with a camera phone, having it located higher up so that the vocals are more even with the guitar might help with that. God bless !

Bob, no offense, but that's not an all-solid-wood instrument. Very likely, even the top is laminate. I think EJ-200 model got solid-top around 2011, it's easy to check out. I'm a bit of an Epiphone geek, and I own the same model, but from 2011/2013.
reverb.com/item/40833264-2001-epiphone-ej-200-vs-vintage-sunburst-jumbo-pro-setup-new-hard-shell-case This specifies a solid spruce top for a2001. I can’t find a spec for sure of the maple. There we’re laminate models but this has a solid top. And I think the back and sides are solid maple but I can’t find that for sure. Again, for 2001
@@bobdixon3359 Absolutely no way back and sides are solid.😀 The model would be Masterbilt or Elite/Elitist, because in that time frame only those were all-solid. It also doesn't make any sense yo produce an all-solid EJ-200, sell it for 300-400$, and then keep the same model name, but drastically downgrade its specs.
@@LegsONwell, this sold for close to a 1000 new and I got this used from a pawnshop for a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than the same model from other sites. However, I did see reviews that talked about laminated maple back and sides. It’s very heavy, but sounds pretty good and satisfies my need for a super jumbo guitar w/o spending an arm and a leg.
