When using epoxy grout wipe down the tile with liquid soap, apply grout then wipe. Don’t flood the grout lines just use a sponge and wipe edges of the lines creating a thin layer.

So which pad was that demo with? 3000 grit or just final buff pad from kit?

I tried teaching my contractor how to use epoxy and they just refused to understand that it would be trouble if they didnt follow the instructions, and low and behold they didnt listen so now im stuck w/ all this haze on my tiles as well~

Exactly what I needed. This has given me a few ideas of my own to try out.

Had worse - hardened bits of epoxy over tiles and new cupboard faces - like you happy with the tile job but could tell he had likely not worked with epoxy grout even though he said he did. Had a drill polishing attachment from a hard water kit - used that with general cleaner and blue 3m non scratch pad on the drill attachment - just gentle as I could and used scraper carefully for any areas left - all good in no time.

What is recommended for metal tile? I bought very expensive copper tile, and the installer left so much grout all over my tiles. :( So far Oops all purpose remover is slowly working, after many times scrubbing, but it is scratching the tiles. Same with WD-40.

Thanks for the video. I had a nearly month old haze, decided to us a paint scraper to remove the haze and it worked beautifully. So relieved. No need for sand paper or sander. The effort needed for other chemical processes was scary as I have health issues and get fatigued easily.

You can remove almost everthing with regular sanded grout just mix the grout put over the tile y with a rag scrub the tile that will remove everthing and don't damage the tile you can remove haze pencil marks tape residue wax from the toilets

Wipe your tile with paper towels after you last sponge wipe an it takes that film with it

Acetone works for me. Each 18x18 tile took about a minute of wiping with an acetone soaked rag. Having worked with epoxy, other than grout, that is the solvent I used to clean tools with hardened epoxy.

On shiny tiles I had the same problem. I used a blade and turps and lots of paper. Every tile I had to use clean paper because I didn’t want to transfer the residue on the tissue to the next tile. It was not easy though. And I had to do it about 3 times.

What would work well after 1 day?

Buy the hole motor assembly. don't buy the pinions is frustrating to open that case.

For those replacing only the main gear, as I did, this won't be obvious, but it would be a good idea to find and remove all broken fragments of the old main gear from the assembly.

Dude! Thank you so much for this video! It inspired me to fix the cx7’s window in the same way (instead of buying a new motor, just replacing the gears). Now, the window seems a bit loose, any suggestions? Just a tad wind noise from the top left corner at highway speeds...

I have found using "aircraft paint remover" works very good on dried epoxy. You can find it at automotive paint stores (sometimes) or off Amazon.

Hey Bro, great job doing the motor. I just did mine last weekend and I freaked out as well with the lock situation. My wife tells me that's the way it's spoda be. I was relieved with that news. I think it's a safety issue so you won't lock your keys in the vehicle. They work fine when you start the engine. Thanks again, you saved me big bucks replacing the gears instead of the whole motor.

My GAWD, that's a lot of frick'n work.
