RoD Episode #243 - Phil Grapsas
Phil is a third degree black belt with over 20 years of grappling experience. He shares some of the wealth of knowledge he has amassed on his journey from the mid-1990s, when BJJ was in its infancy in Australia compared to the massive growth today. Phil provides tips how we can look after ourselves as we get older so that we don’t always wake up with injuries, and encourages people to heed the wisdom imparted on him as a white belt: that by the time you achieve a black belt, you will tap a million times.

Great episode, and very relatable for me. I started my Jiu Jitsu journey just over a year ago, 1 day before my 50th birthday. I often come home exhausted after rolls with 'enthusiastic' 20 somethings but thank my lucky stars I can be there. As was mentioned in the podcast, it really is a gift to my future self. My eldest daughter, who is now 18, started along with me and its great to be able to do this wonderful sport together. BTW, she's coached by Frances Bavaro, so was great to see her on the show!

Love all the jokes and your positive energy - it's contagious! I don't even do BJJ myself at all, but what you and your guests talk about is so interesting, I like to watch it when I can. There's always something positive to take away from the interviews. And of course with Theo being my 🥰 💪Big Bruv 💪🥰 and therefore getting to know lovely Kim over the last few years via him, obviously I really love your show and I'm very proud of what you all have accomplished. Good luck for the next 100!
