Another tribute to tone. Trying to recreate the iconic sounds of Pink Floyd's David Gilmour. Recorded the audio direct and separately from the video. Handwired '55 Strat neck pickup into a Helix Stomp XL. Really digging this tone. @line6movies

Starts with two beats of full band (3 and 4), then a full measure with full band, then guitar starts on the "and" of three in the next measure (the second full measure). Underrated solo that's too low in the mix (see @RickBeato's video and his interview of Cross in response). Not great audio quality but good enough to learn it and better than nothing. Enjoy!

My first tribute to tone. Used a Helix Stomp XL. Preset based on Jason Sadites' Eric Johnson preset with some tweaks to the echo settings and maybe a bit more treble with the amps or Tube Driver. Warmoth guitar with a Mojotone QuietCoil neck pickup (the '67 I think). @line6movies

Saw @JoshSmithGuitar come up with this last April and decided to learn it. Things snowballed from there. Next thing I know I'm transcribing it. And trying to recreate the video. And changing my name to Josh! (OK, not really, but if I was serious I would have bought a FlatV). Anyway, just my way of saying I think Smith is awesome and thanks to him for opening my mind with his approach to playing...

I watched a couple few yous sounded best man good feel .You only get that with experience and love for song . what a great song it is iam sure it's on alot of favorite songs of all time not just fav Floyd . This tune brings back to a place in my youth .One of my fav tunes . Reminds of my buddy Ken Elly (Nip)(Soap Seller) and his bro Bob that passed away way to early I know when I heard this song for the first time it was Bob's album on a shity 8 track / Record player in the late 1970 s .Fort Erie Ontario

2:13 cowards won't sing the Kennedys line now. interestingly when they started writing it, the line was Kennedy but they soon had to change it to plural when bobby was killed
They did at Altamont so maybe that jinxed them. One of the best lines in the song. They omit a bunch of lyrics in this version.

At 3:53 on the record Mick Taylor clearly does a funky thing that isn’t on here. It’s like you got part of it and used that for the whole thing. Where’s the funky thing. It’s the same thing Mick Taylor does on the film Gimme Shelter before they start Sympathy at Altamont. Anyways it’s not on here
