    Intraverbals involve responding to the speech of another person that is not directly echoed but contextually relevant. An appropriate intraverbal response to “Is the swing your favorite?” would be “yes” or “no.” The child’s response “favorite” is not an intraverbal response but an echo of the last word in the question. Manding involves making requests or demands. The initial word “swing” could be interpreted as a request to go on the swing, which shows manding behavior. Tacting involves labeling or identifying objects or events in the environment. The child’s initial utterance of “swing” labels the object of interest, indicating tacting behavior. Echoing involves repeating exactly what another person says. In this scenario, the child repeats the word “favorite” after hearing it in the question. This demonstrates echoic behavior. Given this analysis, the child has demonstrated manding, tacting, and echoing. The response to the question is an echo rather than an intraverbal response. Therefore, the verbal operant the child most likely has not demonstrated is: a) Intraverbals

    In the question regarding Aksel, you said that he didn’t like to be alone was not correct because of the colloquial language of the word “like.” But in the question with Anotoli, you said the function was that she didn’t like diagramming sententences. How are they not the same situation? That theory made me chose the answer could not be determined because I don’t know what task she was being asked to do, I only know that is was academic, so I chose C.

    I am very confused about the part where accessing a school's homework support page is a greater milestone than asking for peers for rides to work.

    • @behavioranalystsupervisori8906
      @behavioranalystsupervisori8906 Месяц назад

      Happy to help! Asking for rides only leads to getting a ride. The reinforcement remains the same. Utilizing the support page can lead to homework help, extracurricular activities, social groups, or more. The key is the difference between a cusp and a pivotal behavior. Cusps access new and different reinforcers whereas pivotal behaviors might be important behaviors but they only allow for access to a singular reinforcer.

    At 5:30, both your Chained and Tandem say, "Each step serves as the SD for the next" but the Tandem also says "There is Not an SD". Was the first quote on the Tandem a mistake? On page 319, Cooper states for Tandem: "Unlike with a chained schedule, however, an SD is not associated with each component schedule."

    Resurgence is when the replacement behavior is no longer reinforced and the problem behavior comes back.

    • @behavioranalystsupervisori8906
      @behavioranalystsupervisori8906 Год назад

      This is a good way to look at it. The Cooper book specifically states that "Resurgence refers to the reoccurrence of a previously reinforced behavior when reinforcement for an alternative behavior is terminated or decreased and to the three-phase procedure that produces the effect: (1) A target behavior is reinforced, (2) the target behavior is placed on extinction and reinforcement is provided for an alternative behavior, and (3) both responses are placed on extinction." Cooper et al, p. 799, 2020).

    Pg 703 of Cooper states that you can put someone else in control of delivering consequences if you are having difficulty doing so. I think the key is you still have to design and determine the consequence yourself.

    • @behavioranalystsupervisori8906
      @behavioranalystsupervisori8906 Год назад

      Hey Taylor! This is referred to as a self-manager and is a variation of a self-management plan. This is reserved for times when the individual might not be capable of delivering the contingency themself. It could be just as effective as stated on page 704, however there should be research to back this up.

    The questions from ABA Wizard app consider directions such as clap your hands or touch your nose to be conditional discriminations with the discriminative stimulus being the availability of your hands and the conditional stimulus being the direction itself. Examples for simple discrimination that they gave were turning up the thermostat and it gets warmer, press the gas petal and you go faster… But I also see how when comparing these examples to ones such as get me a hot cup of water have more distinct SDs/CDs…. now I’m extra confused

    • @behavioranalystsupervisori8906
      @behavioranalystsupervisori8906 Год назад

      Yes, this can be crazy making. Think of the simplest discrimination you could make, like me saying "Red" when you have several colors in front of you. That's clearly simple. Then, if I say "Give me the red circle and then the blue square," it's clearly two (or three) different discriminations that you must make. The test should help you, because some will be more clearly simple (only one thing to discriminate) and others will have more.

    1:49:00 Asks, "MOST LIKELY LEARNED the following except..." We reflect on the scenario which gives the possibility that the child is manding for "swing." With verbal operants, in order to have the skill of manding, a learner must know how to tact the item. In the question, we can assume that tacting was already in the learners repertoire and was therefor manding for swing. Following that, the echoic of "favorite." which leaves a) intraverbal as the exception. Compared to 3:15:00 where it asks, "the child has DEMONSTRATED the following except" .. this question is not asking what the child might have already learned but rather what the child has demonstrated in the scenario. which leaves b) tact Hope this helps clarify the first question! :)

    3:04:25 The question is asking what you "might" do, EXCEPT. This wording implies to me that there is one *clearly wrong* answer, rather than one answer that's not as good as the others - in this case, the worst of the four because it's an indirect assessment rather than a direct, even if it *is* something you might do. So I went looking for the wrong answer and ended up with C because of the implications of possible punishment and/or not giving reinforcement (even though it's true that negative reinforcement is still "requesting" behavior)

  • @andrewbennett6089
    @andrewbennett6089 Год назад

    2:30:59 I answered C because "asking peers for rides to work" could be a behavioral cusp that will allow the client the ability to get and maintain a job. At 17 years old, that is really significant, opens up the opportunity to earn money and access pretty much any other reinforcer, and is a "milestone" which the question took words to emphasize was important. so it's enough for me to pick that answer even if it is correct in that it doesn't generalize too much beyond that.

    • @behavioranalystsupervisori8906
      @behavioranalystsupervisori8906 Год назад

      Thanks for the commend Andrew! I think the key here is as many milestones as possible. The support page will open the door to many, many different things including clubs, tutoring, rides even. Whereas asking peers for rides to work is more limited. I hope this helps.

    • @behavioranalystsupervisori8906
      @behavioranalystsupervisori8906 Год назад

      @@showmeTDs Remember that a behavior cusp opens the door to many new reinforcers. Asking peers for a ride to work opens the door to one reinforcer, and using the support page opens the door to many reinforcers allowing her to meet more milestones. We always want to answer the question being asked. Here the scenario wants us to choose the answer that allows for more milestones to be met. To be clear, asking for a ride to work is one milestone, the support page can allow access to many milestones. We do appreciate your opinion though.

    • @andrewbennett6089
      @andrewbennett6089 Год назад

      @@behavioranalystsupervisori8906 if the question is specifically asking for milestones, then I’m more on board with the answer of web support if it is more closely answering what was asked. I’d still wonder whether being able to make money as a result of being able to access work, could lead to “milestones” in the future. I think I’m not really clear on what the question means by “Milestones” which leaves a lot of room for subjective interpretation like this, where we both have valid reasons for our answers.
