You were too high on the glidepath on final. At 48:04 you should have the ball aligned with the green marks, and the velocity vector on the wires, otherwise I would say you did a good job.

Glad it helped - Good attempt, just practice now really 🤣 You did get a bit high on downwind leg, should be 800ft down to 650ft by start of base turn. Also, as soon as you touch down (whether you catch a wire or not) FULL POWER!! If you catch a wire power to idle, if not you have the power to climb out as a bolter for a go round. Maybe… Best thing to do is review CASE I Approach procedures, use TACAN to navigate back to carrier and, until you ‘get the picture’ in your head use ILS to help you stay aligned & on glidepath on final approach, understand configuring your F-18 for ‘Speed on AoA’.
