      @@angietodd-dennis5292 i use buckskin or moose hide for special pieces, and either vinyl or leather grade cork, cork being my go to choice most times.

    Thank you for this video!!! There are many instructional videos with excellent instructors. I have tried so hard to bead a cabachon. It always comes out wonky. You do yours a little bit differently and, what can I say, ':) you got the magick. I think I will be able to do it straight and right for once, lol. I'm going now to finish the video and look for more by you. Thanx again.

    Where do you buy your beads please ? I found some on amazon but they are really all irregular, like some are too round and others too flat.. thank you very much 😊

      Some great sellers in Canada…ibead, sundaylace creations, Teri beads, cedar ridge company, Tsitah’s Beads. I purchase wholesale at John Bead in Toronto.

      You are looking for Czech beads such as precosia and Japanese beads such as Myuki

      I made this video early on in my beading journey. I didn’t have the contacts I have now for beading supplies. I can’t remember where I got the skull but the kiddos liked them! I had a phone grip with this cab for ages!

    Great tutorial! Thank you for sharing. Just starting out and wondering how I would add additional pieces to make it a bracelet? Would I attach the pieces to the edging?

      You could add a thread guard on either side of the finished piece and attach the bracelet that way

      The beads are size 11 czech. The awareness pin and the phone grip tutorials explain the process you can screen shot a picture of the pattern if you wish to copy it.

      The beads are all size 10. This was early on in my beading journey and I only used 10s. I mostly use 11s now.

    What is the red fabric you are using for your backing?

      The Cabochon is glued to stiff felt. The backing is vinyl. I also use leather grade cork, moose hide and buck skin.

    I glued and tied down my cab and it came unglued still and messed up all my nice beadwork and now it's all bunched up ): any tips ??

      Try using a polymer glue like E6000 to glue your cab down. If using a gem type cab use fabric tac. Make sure you’re using stiff felt (pellon) to bead on.

      The thread is called Nymo nylon beading thread. There are different thicknesses for different types of beading. I typically use size B.

      The beads for this project can be any size you choose. I used size 10 seed beads and a size 11 beading needle. Size 10 is a great beginner sized bead. The largest of the seed beads. As the number goes up the size gets smaller. Hope this helps!

      @@kimpilz9953 banding comes in many different sizes and styles. There’s also metal banding as well as plastic. Some have rhinestone and some have beads. So yes, you can find banding to match the size of your beads.

    Fantastic video! Beautiful work. Be careful with that E6000. It is not safe for anything other than glass or stone cabochons. It can eat through Nymo and other nylon threads as well as plastics, crystals, resins, etc.! 🧡

      Hey Darwin! Thanks for watching! A cabochon is any gem or disc, usually glass, or resin or semi precious stone used in jewelry making (usually flat on one side).
