Lincoln "Now" scene
Просмотров 2,8 млн9 лет назад
This scene depicts Daniel Day Lewis's incredible acting
Hi❤myanmar🎉😊
I can’t take anything that has value, if not abolishing slavery
“Io non posso ottenere niente che abbia valore,se non ci curiamo dalla schiavitu”
DDL nails it, Tony Kushner (scriptwriter) nails it, and the person to thank the most, the greatest president who did this in real time. Find and read a biography of the man, he came from RAGS , to, NOT material riches, but to Moral riches. So rare in people, and very rare in politicians.
Lincoln 👎👎👎👎👎👎
We watch this and we are given Trump or Kamala as a choice nowadays for the same office.
Lewis is one of greatest ever to do it on the big screen
Is that Gale Boetticher?
Buzzard’s Guts! No one insults people like this anymore. (Of course, certain birds could be offended?) Big picture: the 13th Amendment, 1865. See the “here and now.”
“You got a night, and a day, and a night, and several perfectly good hours. Now get the hell out of here and get ‘em” That might be my favorite line in the whole scene of great lines.
What an actor 👏👏👏
The voice..Lincoln himself.
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
From the Republican "right" to trouble you...😅
See what is before you, see the here and now. That was the most crucial part of his speech.
Historical accuracy be damned, I want to hear him make this speech as Daniel Plainview.
and the British were already there trying to abolish this tho everyone hates us 🤷🏻♂️
Admittedly, Mr. Lewis' job was made easier, since Lincoln spoke with such power, passion, and clarity.
What bullshit lies here. This guy didn't give a shit about slaves. He was losing the war and "white meat" to re-enforce the front. He was getting desperate and the Abolitionists knew and took advantage of it. It's TO THEM the credit to end slavery (even for a short while) goes to. Not this man Lincoln.
0/10 ragebait
I'll never get over how great of an actor he is.
It was so Fn sad that he was assassinated. What else would he have done?
Lincoln: If i have a milkshake and you have a milkshake-wait

Can you see former President Donald Trump approach this level of self-respect and gravitas? Yeah I thought so.
I was 11 when I saw this movie in theaters. Absolutely amazing.
I always wonder why they didn't cast Lincoln's vice president in this movie he had one in real life
Donald Trump said to the effect: “I’ve done more for black people than any president with the exception of maybe Abraham Lincoln”… for you fu&$ing kidding me?

I honestly love how Daniel Day/Lewis portrays Abe Lincoln’s voice . According to historical witnesses, Lincoln’s voice was actually quiet high pitched and quiet, rather than the deep voice we always hear in other movies. But Daniel-Day Lewis managed to make that higher pitched voice to still sound intimidating with that loud table slap and that authoritarian tone. Love to see it
Holy fook never watched this movie before. I wouldn’t have known it was DDL without searching.
god damn, that's acting at the highest level! WOW!
Incredible detail in each phrase, each moment, each image, each thought. Amazing acting.
Did he get the votes?
Lincoln, never took God's name in vain. Hollywood should be utterly ashamed of itself and ask God to forgive them for they know not what they do.
Lmao, you dont know what Lincoln did behind closed doors and while he was mad at that. Smh
I'm guessing that "pettifogging Tammany Hall hucksters" is a serious insult, but I don't know what it means. Can someone explain the insult to me? I know that Tammany Hall has to do with New York state politics and political mischief.
It is a political slam. Lincoln is calling them crooked and corrupt politicians.
The most important scene in this brilliant movie
My grandpappy warned me about those pettyfogging Tammany Hall hucksters!
democrats are the greatest enemy America has faced since they were called the confederacy.
pfp checks out
It's been said that Daniel Day Lewis, at times, would spend years researching the characters he's played. We, of course, have no recording of Lincoln's voice nor film footage of him. But based on the genius of the actor who played him in this film, one can imagine that this is the closest we'll ever come to hear what his accent sounded like and how he spoke and moved.
"With the fate of human dignity in our hands"
If I remmber right Hal Holbrook played Lincoln in a earlier TV mini series
What a man and the right President for the times he and and the nation endured and yet, at various times he embodied his greatness, his “fallen” humanity and his humility all at once. He also evolved on the slavery issue, a personal struggle that once he made up his mind, he eradicated it for our betterment.
This speech reminds me of an earlier scene where stevens told him to lead.
There is a reason why he is widely considered the greatest president of all time.
Lincoln kinda looks like Cramer from Seinfeld.
He knew. A Roe vs Wade band aid doesn't cut it. A Constitutional Amendment is the only sure thing.
Imagine if this didn't happened in real life 😮😮
This scumbag began the wrecking of America!!
2:42 - Well then you go get the votes then! Since you are so powerful.
SUCH a magnificent scene. Now compare Lincoln to Trump and throw up
Vote for Kamala Harris, and we won’t have to worry about Trump anymore
