    Is it a good idea to apply for both a job and an internship at the same company at the same time?

    • @careersuccesscenter
      @careersuccesscenter 16 дней назад

      Absolutely you should! Depending on the size of the company, there may be different recruiters for different positions. Applying for both will create more visibility for you as well as letting the recruiters know you are very interested in getting a foot in the door at the company you are applying for. At the end of the day, a great recruiter will look at your interests, as well as the company's interest and determine which position you are a better fit for. And if all parties are in agreement, you may find yourself with a new career. 😊 If you're looking for more information or prep work for your interviews, we have a ton of free resources in our careers library, check it out! www.atsinc.com/corporate-careers/success-center Good luck on the job search!

    I have an interview for one supervisor position in a couple of days, when I went to the company website to research it to prep I saw a recently posted second listing as office manager that could also potentially be a fit it is lesser responsibility it seems like, my initial application is the more ambitious one. Should I put in a second application now or just mention it during my interview maybe at the end?

    • @careersuccesscenter
      @careersuccesscenter 23 дня назад

      Congratulations on the interview! There are so many variables that go into this questions. Does the employer have 20 employees? Or 20,000? In larger companies, they tend to have multiple recruiters. These recruiters don't always recruit for the same departments, which would be a great reason to apply to both positions. Being that your interview is two days away, I would hold off until the interview. Toward the end of the interview, when they open it up for you to ask questions, this would be a great opportunity to bring up the other position. Mentioning things such as "I was researching your company on the website and noticed.." or "I was on your website and noticed this other position, how does it differ from the one I am interviewing for and what does that day in the life look like"? This is a great question though! I wish there were a quick and easy answer, but it truly depends on all the variables. If you had not already secured an interview, I would absolutely apply for both positions. A great company with passionate recruiters will vet your resume for the position you've applied for, and if you are more qualified for a different position, they will pass your resume on to another department recruiter to find the best fit for you and the company. Hope this helps!

    23 year Diesel mechanic. No trade school. But what I did do. I got certs online and went to day classes. CDL, EPA 608,609, Cummins, tire cert. You name it. Learned on the job. Only thing a college Diesel degree will earn you is management…… You don’t need a trade school. You can learn it on the job in 2024.

    How can an Indian apply for jobs abroad after doing Diesel Mechanic trade certification??? Plz help. And what kinds of jobs are available in abroad ?

    • @careersuccesscenter
      @careersuccesscenter 3 месяца назад

      Hey there! Applying for jobs abroad as a diesel mechanic can be an exciting opportunity. Firstly, ensure your trade certification meets international standards, and consider getting any additional certifications that might be required in your target country. Look into visa requirements and work permits for the country you're interested in. As for the types of jobs available abroad, it can vary depending on the demand in different regions. You might find opportunities in industries like transportation, construction, mining, or manufacturing. Roles could include diesel mechanic, maintenance technician, or even specialized positions in marine or aviation sectors. Networking with professionals in the industry, exploring job portals specific to your desired location, and reaching out to international recruitment agencies could all be helpful in your job search. Anderson Trucking Service currently has diesel mechanic career opportunities in St. Cloud, MN, Porter, IN and Channelview, TX. For more information on these opportunities and to apply, please visit www.atsinc.com/corporate-careers. Best of luck on your journey to work abroad!

      Apologies, he is referring to tractor+trailer here, making the point that it is over the 26,000 lbs requirement for a CDL. ATS' trucks, for example, weigh around 23,000 lbs which would put a dry van trailer around 12,000 lbs. We are not a school, we are a transportation company. Sorry for the confusion! 😀

    What a cute but irrelevant skit. I've never heard any job offer, recruiter, or employer say these robotic and scripted lines. Maybe make them say something more relatable? Maybe have the student ask a question which causes it? That'd be more helpful.

  • @francisphillipeck4272
    @francisphillipeck4272 9 месяцев назад

    Its about seeing how much of your time they can waste, or in other words how big of a sucker/bitch you are and how much you are willing to endure for free. If they can get you to do more meaning you are more motivated by the idea of potential money whereas someone who isnt as money motivated wouldn't do as much before having enough. Theres a reason they can still fire you for 90-180 days after they hire you, thats the "getting to know you" persiod, the interview part is just a litmus test for how bad they can treat you.

    • @careersuccesscenter
      @careersuccesscenter 9 месяцев назад

      Thank you for your comment, however, we disagree. Multiple interviews are an opportunity for both parties to evaluate and determine if they are the right fit. We can't speak for all businesses, but most businesses do not like to waste time or money. Dragging candidates through an interview process does both. If a company has a multistep interview process, it is most likely to evaluate the skills of the candidate to ensure they are qualified and the best fit for the role. The larger the company and more important the role generally leads to more interviews with different departments or business entities.

  • @cassandraclark7359
    @cassandraclark7359 9 месяцев назад

    1 interview with whoever it is you’ll be reporting to, two members of the team. They figure out if you’re a good fit for the team and you get to meet the people you’re working with. There is no reason “upper management” needs to get involved with the hiring process unless it’s for an executive level role. They just like micromanaging. A company better have a damn good reason for asking me to do more than 1 interview and if the first interview is not with someone on the team I will be a part of then I’m immediately out.

    • @careersuccesscenter
      @careersuccesscenter 9 месяцев назад

      While some companies may micromanage, we do not. Depending on the role, you could have one or two interviews, sometimes more. It comes down to the role, the level of management or collaboration the candidate will have with different departments or business entities.

  • @jonathonaleman

    This is shitty business practice. Better ways to tell potential employees "we here at shitcorp dont care one iota about your time and consider it valueless, we will treat you this way even after you start and will probably just ghost you after your 9th interview"

    • @careersuccesscenter
      @careersuccesscenter 9 месяцев назад

      Companies do value your time as well as their own. It is a better outcome for both the employer and employee to hire the right candidate, but also important for the candidate to accept the right job offer. This process allows both parties to really evaluate their decisions. It costs companies more to hire and replace than it is to find the right fit. We can't speak for other employers, but we hold high standards for ourselves and do not ghost candidates.

  • @bibbong3180
    @bibbong3180 9 месяцев назад

    Lame. Management should know if they want to hire someone in the first hour. Also, simping for corporations is real cool dude.

    • @careersuccesscenter
      @careersuccesscenter 9 месяцев назад

      Multiple interviews are an opportunity for the employer to meet with the candidate on different levels of management, but it's also a great opportunity for the candidate to evaluate the employer. If the candidate doesn't feel that the company is a good fit for them, this is a chance for them to make that decision before accepting a position.

    • @bibbong3180
      @bibbong3180 9 месяцев назад

      @@careersuccesscenter no, it doesn't. An employer looks for three things in candidates; responsibility, work ethic and skill set (all things you can't gauge properly even if you had 5, hour long interviews). Employees can gauge if the company is a place they want to work from Indeed or Glassdoor. Interviewee's can get jerked around for weeks until they are told no. One interview and a probationary period is much more efficient

    • @careersuccesscenter
      @careersuccesscenter 9 месяцев назад

      This simply isn't true for all businesses. There are many roles that have assessments where the candidate would complete a certain task to show proficiency in skills. For instance, web developers, videographers, designers, musicians etc. Not all jobs/careers are the same or require the same skill level. We are not stating that 5 rounds of interview is realistic, this video was very much an exaggeration of the interview process through comedy. Thanks for the comment! 😊

    • @careersuccesscenter
      @careersuccesscenter 10 месяцев назад

      That is totally fair and you have every reason to be confused! A legitimate reason a company would do that would be a large company with multiple positions open that fall into the same category. An example would be having multiple levels or similar job duties of a Customer Service role open. I can imagine that would be difficult to interview for though!

      Sometimes candidates will ghost an employer for many reasons. It could be that they were interviewing at multiple places and got an offer that was a better fit for them, or simply because they decided they no longer wanted the job. The best thing to do in this situation is to let the employer know if you are no longer interested in the job. On the other hand, employees have ghosted candidates as well, which is not cool!
