LS Tractor Hydrolic Filter Change
Using a vacuum to put negative pressure on the transmission reservoir while changing the hydro filter. This prevented the hydro oil from draining out while swapping the filter. This worked great with one exception:
After all done, fluid level checked, I started the tractor and had no pressure on anything. No power steering, couldn't move the loader up or tilt my grapple, grapple would not open or close, and box blade would not go up.
I tried moving the loader control around to get the fluid moving. Had the motor RPM up a bit, tried steering back n forth. Nothing to get the hydro pressure up. I only tried this for a few minutes.
I figured there was air in the lines from sucking the fluid ba...

Well House

Someone wanted to see how the electric box was secured inside. But I do not see his post anymore. Thought I would show the inside of the well house. I still need to spray the insulation inside. Hey Tim Rushton. Thanks for the feedback. Glad this was helpful. Be sure you make the blocks large enough that all of the mounting edges of your light contact the block. My light hangs over as you can se...
Exterior Light Box Install on Hardie Siding
Просмотров 51 тыс.4 года назад
Install rough electrical on Hardie lap siding for exterior light. This is on my well house. All exterior wall penetrations are boxed on Hardie trim, flashed on top, and Tyvek taped and caulked to seal out moisture. I did not want to splice two Hardie trim pieces for the exterior light. So, I sandwiched three 5" X 5" pieces of siding with RTV that is Hardie approved. Then cut the hole out for th...
Sequoia Rear Hatch Switch Cover
Просмотров 1404 года назад
My wife has a 2011 Sequioia that the rear hatch switch was getting hard to actuate. Especially if it was cold. I could see that the cover was deteriated and found there are several kits on Amazon. This one included the new cover, a small scraper, offset #1 & #2 philips, and new screws. I highly recommend this kit. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J4NAGP2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&p...
Pipe dope on PVC threads.
Просмотров 4 тыс.4 года назад
I used PTFE pipe dope for PVC threaded pipe from ACE hardware. Seems to be good stuff. Extremely thick and goes on the threads well. Doesn't take too much either. I installed these clear check valves for back-flow prevention into our well tank. One 2" output, and five 1"outputs for our compound. 5 HP, 3 phase well feeding a 250 gallon tank. The well was installed on a little 5' x 5' slab. Decen...
Do you ever need to change the fluid?
I think this is just what I've been looking for. Thank you!

What is this for????
Well house outputs.
Nice 👍
Man that piping looks beautiful.
Cool trick. I'm about to do mine on the same exact tractor, but hydrostatic transmission. Where did you get the 1" tube and how are you refilling the reservoir with hydraulic fluid? I've got a 5 gallon bucket of it and I'm thinking a funnel, but might end up spilling more than I get in there.
Nice job.
Thank you.
You should have a drip edge on the overhang of the flashing. Water can cling to the underside of the flashing and work its way back.
What electrical box is that? I am having ahard time finding receptacle boxes that fit surface blocks properly.
It is an exterior light box. There is a bracket that mounts inside the building on the back of the box. You can see the screw heads at 4:45 in the video. The bracket pushes against the inside of the sheathing and also pulls against the outer lip of the box to secure it in place. I should have added that to the video.
What did you use for those drip-edge flashing pieces?
Just basic 1.5 x1.5 inch flashing. If the sconce mount block sticks out further, use 2 inch.
@@SuperFunny65 Last weekend I mostly recreated your method here, though I did not go to the trouble to sandwich Hardie plank pieces together. I just used a primed 1x6 fascia board and cut a scrap piece of aluminum gutter for the flashing. I would have liked to use the PVC 1x6, but you have to buy 6 feet of it for $38 when all I need is about 14" total.
@@Rockettman That will work just fine. I probably would have used fascia if it wasn't cedar. I used 2 x 6 rough cedar for my fascia.
Looks good to me. Fine job and very helpful. Thanks, Anthony.
Excellent. I am also just a home owner doing my own work. I was wondering how to do my purchase light. Great video, thank you.
Finally a video I can understand ! Simple fast and helpful!!!! Thank you , really appreciate!
Use drip cap for flashing. You don't want the flashing flat. The flashing needs to slope away from the house to drain. Shouldn't the Tyvek on top be left untaped to allow any water that might get in to drain out??
I usually use the 5/4 miratech board for those boxes. Depending on light size or plug will depend on the width of miratech. 5/4 x 6” for plugs usually 5/4 x 8 for lights. If lights are larger i go with 5/4 x 10”
Also if you want a better tape buy the zip system tape
Why not just screw it to the wall? And wont that flange get in the way of a sconces
Actually, I should have made the flange larger. My sconce hangs about an inch below the flange. I nailed the flange to the wall because the heads are small. Screw heads would show. The purpose of the flange is that it allows for a fixture to be mounted straight instead of at the angle of lap siding.
What is rtb
A military term, Return To Base.
Thanks for the informative video! Maybe it’s just me, but it seems harder to find hardy plank siding videos. Tons of vinyl ones out there though. 👍
I am glad to see this helped you and couple other folks out.
I agree, Brad. And really difficult to find anything useful on how to deal with penetrations. Why all the mystery? Are we in the realm of trade secrets, knowledge is power? This was a very practical video... and it made good sense. Peace.
I’m about to side my new 1200 sq ft garage and this was very helpful! Thank you! I’ve been thinking of how to do this exact thing for my exterior lights. Thanks for posting!
Be sure to make the block large enough for your light base to make contact all around. I posted another vid showing final install. There you will see what I mean. Post a vid for your siding install. Would like to see it. Take care.
Dang my dad is smart, YOU GO DAD!!!
This was just what I was looking for. Thanks! Also, be careful with having copyrighted music in the background of your videos... anything more than a few seconds sometimes randomly gets taken down.
Didn't think about that. I don't post on RUclips too often. Thanks for the info.
Ours the pads turned to jelly would that cover be a good fix ? The switch works fine just nasty to touch
Yes. Turning to jelly was similar to ours too. Nasty to touch. Also made it hard to press the switch because part of the cover that helps push the switch had rotted too.
Yes. This should be a good fix.
Nice vid
Thank you. Never been very good filming things like this. Hopefully this will help someone.
That my dad😂
