The Making of a Documentary - IKE REILLY
The Ike Reilly Assassination Documentary from Clean Blood Pictures
Meet former gravedigger and doorman Ike Reilly. At 40 years old he landed a major label recording contract and in true rock & roll fashion he bought his family a dream home. He took his band out on the road where they became what The New York Times called “one of the best live bands in America.” Despite 9 albums, a cult following and immense critical acclaim Reilly has not yet found widespread commercial success. Academy Award winning director James Marsh says, “Ike’s stuff sounds like it should be enormously successful and it just isn’t and I have no idea why.” Exploring Ike’s career, the film culls over 40 years of footag...

Insurance will cover the cost to rebuild but the loss of business during this time has made it difficult to cover the cost of operations. Dan Buck of The Boyzz invites you to help support the cause.

You are the coolest, I loved Styx in high school in the 70s! My favorite band! I still listen to your songs daily at the gym!
I wish people would just give good comments and for once praise Dennis and the others like he did.
What a wonderful speech Dennis. You know the history and were so positive. You had your place in putting Styx on the board but must also know the problems. Hope you have healed and those finger work well.
If you have never heard the music of Ike Reilly, then you are missing out on one of the greatest songwriters and live performers out there. And this documentary is so well made that you will come out feeling like you know this man and his family and loving his music even more.
Why do long for a induction??
Good man Dennis I grew up listening to Styx Lady at dances when I was a little kid I always loved your music I wish you was back in the band.
wow, Charles stepney never gets enough credit. pure genius
Chuck has always been the Fredo Panozzo. Have the decency to stand up and mention the childhood friend who made you millionaire. At least to John who was the Godfather to Matt DeYoung.
Cliff was awesome, great singer and front man.Back in the day my band used to cover Off Broadway songs because I sounded a lot like him.He really inspired me to becoming a rock singer.RIP Cliff, thanks to you and the band for the great music.Yeah I still listen to their songs to this day.Saw them in Concert many times and it was always great.
Rest in Rhythm good brother. ❤
LOVE YOU JUN
Great Talent ! Great Human Being !!
I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Jun Mhoon. As successful and accomplished as he is, he is equally humble and self-effacing. He has been the behind the scenes inspiration and driving force for individuals, organizations and movements. I am so happy to see his story being told, by him, in such a powerful way. I hope this presentation becomes viral and thereby increases and amplifies the good that Jun has done, and serves to give him his flowers while he is here to enjoy them. God Bless You, Brother!
Dennis DeYoung says "I was a member of Styx", but in reality he was the heart and soul of Styx.
RIP Cliff 🎵 I met Cliff in 2016 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin when he would stop in to the local Kwik Trip I was managing. We were very friendly with each other and him stopping into the store was something I looked forward to on a daily basis. He didn’t introduce himself to me as a musician and he didn’t tell me about Off Broadway until quite some time after we initially met. Our friendship quickly shifted to music and one of my favorite memories was when I was working the cash register and Cliff walked up to me singing the lyrics of “Stay in Time”, but he found a way to put my name into the lyrics. Later in 2017, I told Cliff I was taking a trip to London, so he advised me on all of his favorite spots in the city and messaged with me a wee bit when I was on my trip. All along I really didn’t know much about Cliff’s background or influence in the music community. I’m thankful for my path to have crossed with Cliff’s and I’m happy to have been his friend! ❤️
Dennis was Styx... the other guys are sidemen...
And all this time I thought it was bad management. When they hit Rockford and Chicago airwaves, they were on fire. The guitar hooks, unique voice and lyrics, and great production.
chicago loves Styx ...chicago love Dennis Deyoung ..i pray you guys do 1 more show together .
My first STYX concert was in 1976 the STYX- BTO double bill in Chicago, Tommy Shaw was headlining the bowlerama in Alabama. It was a great ride all the way to 1999 when STYX as a band came to an end. It's a shame greed, revenge, spite and stupidity entered the scene in this once great band. Tommy Shaw during his cocaine haze was so drugged up he sold all the rights to his songs to the guy he seems to not want to mention here. Did Dennis force you to sell your rights to Blue Collar Man and Renegade Tommy? It's a shame you cannot sell them to AJAX for extra cash unlike Dennis who could sell Mr. Roboto for a big payday enter the Revenge factor. Then you have the audacity to demand money from that you know the song you spat on for decades. James Young, Tommy Shaw and Chuck Panozzo are what you call sell outs back stabbers, these are the guys you dread being around. If John Panzoo were here today this entire fiasco would have never happened he would have kicked his brothers ass and not allowed him to side with the guys who destroyed The Styx brand, BRAVO JY and TS we don't even want a STYX reunion anymore you don't deserve to stand on the stage with Dennis Deyoung ever again.
Dennis and John were Styx. Even Tommy had issues with his unfaithfulness to his girlfriend Linda Blair who he cheated on while she was competing in an equestrian show jumping competition for a spot on the 1984 Olympic Team with her horse groomer and he also lied to her about his drug addiction as he was pouring cocaine into his alcohol while Linda had stopped using all hard drugs as of January 1979 after her arrests for cocaine possession in December 1977 and marijuana possession in August 1978 respectively.
👍🏾
He’s so gracious that he mentioned every one Tommy and JY take notes even the 2 John RIP he mentioned with respect and dignity Congratulations Dennis ❤
Disgusting how can they forget DDY. Chuck what happened you know that you John RIP and DDY are the founding members are they going to pull this crap when they finally get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.Without DDY Styx is just powder puff recycle.
Thank you RON, and thanks for creating and posting this As a HUGE smashing pumpkins fan, i too can see/hear the massive influence old school rock and roll plays in even what is largely referred to as "a 90s band" then I'm really hoping that distinction eventually fades away... esp since they started in the 80s /😅
Congrats Ron Romero. Your (and our) Dream is really Happening!!!
Especially loved the rare secret shows under the pseudonym 'the Randy Men' w/ opening act Take Me 💕
Loved Styx. I am sure Dennis was a handful. But his contributions to Styx cannot be in doubt. They just aren't Styx without Dennis...for me, anyway. Got to see them only once, on the ill-fated KILROY Tour in 82 or 83. Despite the reviews, I dug the show. It was ambitious when so many Rock shows weren't. I enjoyed them live...👍
I don't listen to reviews. If I liked it that's all I need to know.
Awesome 👌
Wonderful.
Pat Paradise Rock Station likes this video!
Silent Key, Silent Mic RIP Dick
This guy sounds the same after so many years
Promo sm 😃
Very cool. Looking forward to visiting the museum soon.
Shameful without Dennis DeYoung!
When will the museum be open? Are Illinois bands and musicians featured like Cheap Trick, Rick Saucedo, 7th Heaven, Chance the rapper, Eddie Vedder, and so many...
The first floor of the Museum will be opened this year and will focus on nationally and internationally recognized musicians and bands from Illinois.
This is sad. Yet I laughed out loud.
About bloody time. The r n r hall of fame is a joke. Illinois here I come.
wow, least dennis gave knowledge of tommy shaw and jy and yet tommy and jy gave nothing to dennis during the awards!!so sad.we see who has the class in that group!!!!
its to bad members over the years just cant seem to get along even when there is awards for the whole band!!!without dennis, there would be no styx!!!!js.
God bless you Dennis! You inspired me to get my music degree! Now I'm a composer and keyboardist like you! Thank you so much for your inspiration and catalogs of awesome music! 😊🙏✝
This poser tribute band is slimy. They didn't even mention the founder and composer of most of the music they sing every night. I hope if the real RRHOF ever inducts Styx that they stipulate it will be with Dennis DeYoung or nothing!
Great interview my brother I enjoy our conversations every time I see you 🤘👍
Wow! Illinois has produced so many great music artists. Some of these I didn’t know were from IL. This was well- produced. I am looking at checking out the IL RocknRoll Museum when it opens
Glad you included a variety of genres in this video.
Thank you for pointing that out. The Museum recognizes all genres of music despite the name of the Museum including the words Rock & Roll.
d'Thumbs were a great (but sadly short-lived) band. RIP Cliff.
One night we in the car and Cliff starts singing along with this (ABC) song that was on the radio You can imagine how he was acting this one out Shoot that poison arrow… Shoot that poison arrow through my heart Then he says, Hey who sings dat fucking song…Flock of Jag-offs?
Dennis DeYoung is STYX! Tommy & J.Y. are STYNX!
That induction is long over due! And made out rightfully-To 'Dennis DeYoung" & STYX!
Styx did exist at a time! Now nope!
The Shoes, the Records, Pezband, Off Broadway, etc... all that young energy and hope. Can't go back but can still enjoy the music.
One Arm Bandit , the Boyzz , Tutu & the Pirates , to name a few more 🤘🏻
Don’t forget Screams! A Champaign/Urbana band… They had a pretty good run one year in the midst of all of the above! Saw them at an outdoor concert at ISU, when Paper Dolls had decent radio airplay… STUNNING! ❤️
