I did exactly what you are describing, but my unit will not go into test mode. It immediately says inactive. Trying to get some help from trane is a nightmare. 🥴

20:00 let’s say you have three modules and you measure the supply and return temperatures internally, isn’t there a formula that’d solve for the mixed temperature and would be pretty close to the external temperature sensor reading? My point is: can I skip the external temperature sensors if I had to, having good internal temp sensors ?

Is it just me? These discussions seem to always show chillers with dedicated primary chilled water pumps. Every plant I've ever worked on had the primary pumps in parallel with each other so that pump B could serve chiller A if necessary.

Very informative especially when I need someone to throw me a bone once in a while. Never too old to learn something. I have been beating on sales reps, other engineers, and contractors about ASHREA15 and all I got in return was a Goerge Bush look. While I'm shocked to learn this about ASHREA 15 I am also pleasantly surprised. Usually, you can't get a VRF system past the contractor nose without a VE and has never been an issue. Now I am designing around VRF systems more and this information is good to know. I did a four-story media building in Atlanta with a VAV system and will probably need to revisit that project now. Whoopee!! I don't know if I should keep looking over my shoulder or move to Ukatia Russia. Thank you.

I have a symbio condenser paired with szvav 2 speed air handler. Wired evything like the diagram says even the modbus. Configure my condenser for the right setting for this application. I’m still getting no connection on the vfd. 4.8vdc to 61-68, 4.8vdc to 68-69, but 80-120vdc to 61-69 on the vfd. Any help is appreciated. Vfd not communicating

Great video, you mention in the medium building application section that new technology will allow for 130°F hot water production down to 0°F ambient. Is there more information on these products and when it's anticipated they will be available? Additionally, air source cooling is generally much less efficient in kw/ton than evaporative cooling - ie an air cooled chiller is less efficient than a cooling tower+chiller for comfort cooling. Adiabatic cooling using water sprayers on the condenser side of an air cooled chiller can however close this gap, especially in dry climates. Does Trane offer this as an option, or do you have any input/recommendations on this?

When cautioning against utilizing the BAS for control of a remote bypass valve should the takeaway be that the BAS NETWORK should not be used? That is to say the DP transducer and the remote valve should be hardwired to the same controller?
