I've found some instances where an older Blu-ray is OOP and more expensive than the 4K. In those instances, I'll just get the 4K as it often comes with a BD anyway.

Whenever I go on ebay and someone is selling a copy of the movie I want that is opened with the slipcover, it’s $40. Whenever I see I copy of a movie that is sealed without the slipcover, it’s $40, but for some reason when ever I see a movie sealed with the slipcover, it’s $100. I will never understand this world.

And will in 2025 have spider man 2029 DVD and spider man 4 DVD and Miles Morales spider man live action DVD. And spider Gwen live action DVD and into the spider verse live action DVD. And beyond the spider verse animated and beyond the spider verse live action DVD and the amazing spider man 3dvd. And Moana 2 2024 animated DVD. And real live action Monna DVD 2025 frozen 3 animated DVD next year and new releases 2025

Just snagged like 45 blurays. Lots of classics i haven't seen in my life. Like the mad max high octane collection. Indiana jones movies, that I only ever saw bits and pieces of as a kid. Some classics. Like the rush hour movies and apacalypse now. Great bid bro.

Walmart has the 4k for 30 bucks and amazon has the blu-ray for 13 so ended up getting the blu-ray. Hopefully my sony 4k player will upres it so its close to the 4k minus no hdr. Great review and thanks for the visual examples.

The remastered versions I have seem lighter picture and less grain. Enhanced blu ray. I have 2 4k movies because I could not find them on blu ray and they came with the blu ray. 😂 I use my Sony 4k upscaler for blu rays and they look much better. Clearer backgrounds.

Man, this videos frustrating. All the dvds I wanna see (like that new yellow Chucky dvd cover) the camera zooms by it so fast the price and text are a blur. The films I could care less about he picks up and lingers on. Oh, well. I'll check it out myself eventually.

Wolf Creek is a masterpiece and that steelbook is its Blu-ray debut. I got one but it is sold out at every Walmart near me. You should grab that one.

As someone who buys DVDs on eBay it’s not that bad. I’ve got a whole box set of Mirai Nikki (it’s an anime) box set and it goes for 150 usually but I got it for 30$.

I just think buying stuff through Apple is far easier and cheaper in the long term. I would still buy boutique label items on Blu-ray though simply for the extras, director commentaries and original audios.

I'll be honest. I find it to be less expensive, more organized, and far less hassle in the long term to purchase things through Apple. Plus they give you a free 4K upgrade anyway. Yes there are some disadvantages to digital movie collecting but for the most part it is a superior experience. The only things I will buy on Blu-ray anymore are special boutique editions where I want the extras, director commentary, original audio tracks, etc.

Sadly, you will not find that in the US, which sucks.
