Getting a beehive removed.

I couldn't stomach having them killed. If you would like to contact the beekeeper I used, let me know in the c...

There's been some stupid comments on here about how cruel pigeon racing is. The vast majority of owners treat there birds very well. Shit happens. The clue to this birds fate is when the finder said the temp was in the 90s. It's clear this excessive heat was the cause of the birds death. I raced birds for over 50 years and helped many birds such as this get home. I'd say 90% recovered. Quick action was needed in this case, but this bird was unlucky he was found by somebody who didn't know what action to take.

Last week Monday I found a pigeon at this state, it was so tired it couldn't even run, luckily I took it and put it in a cage I gave it food and water. There is a telephone number on the ring I called the number and notify the owner. The owner promised to come and fetch it Wednesday till now the pigeon is still here by me and I am not will to release it coz I am not sure if it will make it back home. I am feeding it I but it some bird food. Any advice what must I do with it, remember I don't have pigeons, the bird looks lonely.

There came a very beautiful one into my garden about 2nd July. I am 5 km southern from Vienna. Rested next to the Vogel-Futter-Haus. She found nourriture and water in the bird-bath and she regained strength. Now she flies much around, comes not so often anymore, perhaps she prepares for flying home? She has two rings, a white one and an black one, might be a Konstatierring which I realised only some days ago. This ring is only used for Brieftauben. Unluckily I did not catch her to read what is on her ring. But she is in good shape now. In my garden she was quite save. But she flew everyday somewhere to sleep. She did not sleep in the grass. You did it very well, gave your best. By the way I was not at all frightened she could be sick and infect me, I just did not know how to catch her without shocking or harming her. So I just cared as well as I could to give her a quiet place to recover. I was surprised about that beautiful pigeon sitting in the meadow. Later I got informed they are very exhausted then. She fluffed her feathers and looked quite round. But when recovered she was slim. Thank you for sharing, greetings from Austria in Europe! ..... do not mix it with Australia.

It is very young - almost a baby. You can touch all pigeons. They are bery clean and not sick. People who work to kill them lie about them. It died from lack of food and water. They should not do this racing with pigeons. It is evil. Pigeons need shelter and food and people's care.

Pigeon racing is a shitty thing. Also pigeons aren’t as diseased as people make it out to be, they are the same as cats and dogs. If you have any questions or are urgent for answers and advice regarding anything, Reddit is a really good place for that. I myself have received so much good advice regarding pigeon care within a couple minutes from knowledgeable people, all for free.

If you would have taken action right away instead of being afraid to pick the pigeon up, you could have possibly saved it By making him drink by forcing its beak in water mixed with some kind of electrolyte Or glucose replacement such as gatorade, honey, Grape juice or even plain table sugar. The bird was too exhausted and dehydrated to drink by himself. He needed help by putting his beak In the water.

He died two hours after I found him. I have no idea how long he was out there, but I only left him out there for about 30 minutes at most. Also, as I stated in another comment, I gave it shucked sunflower seeds and oatmeal along with water. I didn't have any Gatorade to offer, but the bird would not eat or drink. That is the first time I have ever dealt with a pigeon. I suppose if it ever happens again, I'll know what to do, but I think this bird was beyond saving. I did my best with the limited knowledge I had. It still makes me sad that it died. I love animals.

Birds migrate 13000 plus miles, geese will fly nonstop from Minnesota to Louisiana. Pigeons have been used to send message since the 6th century. Both the US and Britain use Homing Pigeons in WWI and WW2. Pigeons typically fly at about 60 mph, they will beat you home when released. It makes me so mad when Goody Two Shoes wet their panties over matters they have no understanding of. Not all animals make it home, you can understand mortality based on the number of eggs a bird lays. Quail, ducks, geese lay 10 to 14ish eggs in a clutch, wonder why?

If it can fly around the loft for two hours without going inside it's ready if not you don't send it. And also I want to say that most birds are lost around the loft being attacked by hawks. Losing birds in a race is uncommon from that distance.
