Mine was doing it until i did a KEM reset on the truck...it basically resets the fuel learning system and the transmission....something that has to be done through forscan

Owner update, 100,000 miles. Bank 1 Exhaust and Intake VCTs were replaced at around 90,000 miles due to solenoid actuation failure on the exhaust side. Code was P0012. Running exclusively E-85 with no noticeable spark knock or pre-ignition. Occasionally run a tank of regular 85 Octane (Colorado). Still running exclusively Ford Motorcraft 5W-20. No other maintenance issues.

i just run premium, 5w30 and run a container of zinc in the oil every 5k, doesn't burn a drop of anything..

I recently bought a 2019 ford f 150 with the 5.0 it only had 28,000 miles on it and I bought the v8 cause I planned on owning this truck for 20 years. I run regular gas 87 and it makes this noise. Is there anything the dealer can do to fix? I have a full warranty but I don't think they will do anything.

Owner update, 75,000 miles. 2 more long cross country road trips towing 5-8k lbs. Most of the noises go away with 91+ Octane Premium or E-85, which is what I run exclusively. It will run fine on lower octanes but I get lots of pinging and chatter under the hood. So far the worst octane has been E-15 (Only ran one tank). Oil changes every 5k miles. Ford Motorcraft 5W-20 exclusively, usually have to add about 1-2 quarts in between changes. Absolutely no mechanical issues. Truck is driven daily in varying conditions.

Owner update at 65,000 miles. Absolutely no problems from the engine relating to these noises. One long cross-country USA road trip and many highway, city and overlanding/ offroading miles out west over the past 15k. Run premium or E-85 exclusively and regular oil changes and maintenance every 5k miles. Motorcraft engine oil only and OEM Ford filters.
