Hi! It's nearly impossible to avoid ghosting, since the paper is so thin. Most of the time, I don't worry about it too much... I just use the colors and supplies I like. But if I'm really trying to avoid ghosting, colored pencils are best -- the lighter the color, the less you will see any ghosting on the other side of the page.

They are so handy! And easy to make too.

Hi Joyce! I only apply gesso maybe 75% of the time, depending on what kind of Bible I'm working in and what art supplies I'm using. I have the Illustrating Bible which has thicker paper, so I never use gesso in it. But for my other journaling Bibles, if I know I'm going to use paints or inks that are very wet or could bleed through, then I use gesso.

Unfortunately, U.S. Postal Service has suspended service to Australia (due to COVID-related issues), so it's out of my hands. It's been that way for nearly five months, and USPS has given no indication as to when they will resume shipping to Australia. On the bright side though, I am working on an undated printable version of the Divine Faith Planner, which will be available about a month from now.
