@@mrman9561 hi, I agree with you and a few others have said this. I am in the process of planning a full start to finish video, just been snowed under with work. I could make a short video on it but my car is not standard and has a roll bar so I can’t guide on plastics removal as I don’t have any in mine. So will have to borrow a car

I will pass on the message to Martyn and Rob, they will be racing at Snetterton tomorrow so hope to have some good footage from there too

I was running the BBR super sport but now have the cobalt. I would say it’s best to get it remapped as it wasn’t quite happy before the map But I would make sure you have it mapped to suit your use case for it

@@dss199 yea will do.. had a custom back fitted a few weeks back and I’m sure it lost a bit of power.. maybe it’s over packed as I asked for it to be fairly quiet ready for the decat.. the rolling road should show if it’s bottle necking at the rear

@@dss199 yes, I went with just a slightly stiffer spring on the gas as to not go too hard and make it unnatural. The brake mods with the stiffer springs worried me after I did it, so I actually when back to the softer black factory springs. Was also hurting my hip when it was too stiff on the brake. But very happy with your gas mod. Makes a nice improvement.

If so I have taken them out for now as I need to re check how to get them to work correctly as they have been a bit of a pain if I am honest. Hasn’t bothered me until I decided to plan a track day and don’t fancy removing the brace for each adjustment. So thanks for giving me a nudge to contact Meister

Ahh I see, I must admit I thought the extensions for f+r were the same, didn't see that the fronts were a rod. What's the issue with the fronts then?

@@markgreen4455 you are meant to drop them in and there is no locating system or anything. Compared to the standard adjuster it’s pretty poor

If you de cat the stock header it will get even louder. I’m at the point where I’m either swapping to a sports cat header or adding another cat to the mid section

I have heard others use other sprays but can’t comment or any after effects. The spray is designed to not damage the sensor. When I saw the same discussions on another thread. The consensus was that other sprays can be harmful. You can use the spray more than once. I do it yearly with each service.

Hi. It’s really subjective. But I also didn’t have a recording of it before. But I can say it is really noticeable. If you can hear tyre and road noise from behind the hoops then this is most likely a cause.

@@williamcorley8752 in that case I wouldn’t do things that ruin the stock ride, since having coil overs on mine I haven’t enjoyed it on the road as much. Also beware of drone with engine mods, they can become annoying on. A long journey unless you have a lot of twisty roads.

Hi it’s removing the sound tube that is installed on certain models. All this is a tube with a diaphragm and emits sound just behind the glove box. It’s a fake induction noise and isn’t natural

Hmmm, curious. I haven’t had this to my knowledge. I know there is a foam seal on the bottom piece. It might not be sealing well? I may have to investigate when I do some more work on my trim at some point

Another thought, you could try a thin layer of silicone if this is the case. I believe it’s the same type seal as the windscreen grommets that fail?

Hey. I have been informed that the seal around the base of the roof and the chassis under the window can be a leak source that runs down into the back of the footwell. Also there is a tank above the drain hose that can clog. Just thought I would update you on what I have found incase you have the same problem.

sadly not, they are sport welded on and trying to pry them distorts the metal

Before I saw this I went ahead and tried my hand at removing them. It was annoyingly difficult but I was able to do so without distorting the muffler tips. The trick i found was A. Use jack stands to minimize movement of the muffler via the rubber in the hanger mounts B. Wear some mechanics gloves, grab channel locks with long handles, some standard tin snips, and get to cutting/ ripping. The spot welds break without too much wiggling after you isolate the front bottom pair, rear bottom single, and front top pair(s). @@dss199

I would say on their own no, it really needs a pod filter, charge pipe and all induction pipes

The cobalt will raise the sound without being too loud, as long as you haven’t modified the rest of the exhaust. The BBR Is more expensive but a nicer sound in my opinion. As long as the rest of the system is standard. Otherwise volume becomes an issue

It depends, with decat yes, but pre decat the BBR was much better

Yeah, that’s a good start, have you ever fitted a performance filter? If so the oil can get coated on sensor and make it less efficient

@@dss199 I have a hard top, just fixed the rattling on the roof by simple adjustment of the roof catch. I am not a mechanic by any description i bet there are many MX5's out there playing a tune. Be good if you had a video on that and my next project is rattling windows !
