These cars are notorious for going through these speed sensor. In my case, I assume it was because of a loose bolt but went ahead and replaced the sensor anyways since it only takes like 5 mins to do. When the speed sensor goes out, your car throws a bunch of codes and error and you lose access to 1st gear. By replacing the speed sensor, you'll be able to resolve all of these issues.
