Liz Truss and the Archetype of Female Politicians

I was really worried that the world would make the incompetence of the British ex prime minister Liz Truss a gender issue. But I am glad and curious as to why not. Hence are not subject to praises or backlashes that an average woman would...

I am a white, 60 year old Australian woman. I was very interested to hear your thoughts as it is easy on social media to get into an opinion bias circle where what you watch/read validates your own opinion. It was interesting to hear you say that they are not relatable because I have always felt the same. I agree about Candice Owen. She is a very articulate black US woman married to an Englishman. She leans to the right politically and I don't agree with all of her opinions. There is almost an industry that has grown up around Harry and Meghan - both for and against and sometimes both in the same publication. I do wonder about someone who is not in contact with her own family except her mother and has had her husband do the same thing. Are both their families so toxic? I dislike how they use Diana to try say the same might happen to Meghan. I dislike how they try to make it all about race and not about character though I am not saying that there has been no racism. I dislike how they have equated the Commonwealth with empire 2.0 and seem discount all the other European nations that also colonised Africa, the US and Pacifice nations. It is a warped reading of history and one that is causing issues in a lot of countried though I suspect that some of those countries are using this to further their own agendas. I will often respond to people whose views are different to mine or who assert as fact issues that may not be as clear cut as what they say. I will always try to be respectful, factual and ask questions to clarify views. I agree we need to be careful , especially in this digital age of how we speak to others especially when we hide behind nom de plumes. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

This happens for most people when they constantly experience someone (no matter their age, background or heritage) constantly whining and carrying on they have it so bad, the person constantly forced to listen to the whingefest just wants it to stop. It’s exhausting, and can actually be mentally damaging for the people having to constantly listening to it. It becomes worst when you know the other person whinging all the time is has a tendency of lying, omitting information and making things up to make themselves look like the victim. With M would the whirlwind she is now reaping been as big as it is now if H and herself didn’t sow the wind with the O interview, M’s podcast, the magazine interviews and this documentary? I doubt it, very much so. Most people wouldn’t give a second thought to them if they had just gone on to live their lives in the US. You can’t constantly complain, then complain that people are complaining about your complaining.

It is trendy to talk gender among the young maybe because of their ignorance and following trends when in fact all the problems are political and need political participation from the masses to address and make the system work for them not for some elites. Many great woman have been top stateswomen for right or wrong like Tatcher, Merkel, Harriet Tubman etc; There is currently more than 20 women head of state. I’m struggling to understand ppl’s problem. I guess for me, I don’t agree that ppl who are privileged should not be allowed to raise awareness to societal issues. And some of the issues being spoken about, ambition archetype or bimbo archetype are real issues. Also I’m not in the mindset that only minorities have problems. For some reason there is a bit too much fake wokeness where a lot of ppl speak on matters to highlight the struggles of black ppl and if someone’s who’s not black or not fully blsck speaks out about a struggle, it’s instantly dismissed because they have “privilege”. The biggest thing that life has taught me is that life doesn’t discriminate. Every human being is going to struggle in some way but our struggles are different based on our circumstances. Paris Hilton In Archetypes talked about how she was abused in boarding school. Child abuse is an issue all races face. For me, I was abused by my mother and the church. So I’m happy that Megan gave Paris the space to speak on that struggle. As for ambition, I don’t see a problem with telling ppl to be ambitious. Too little ppl have ambition and as a teacher I see this on the frontlines of our next generation. 80% of them lack ambition so they don’t TRY in school, don’t WANT to try in school and most sadly don’t care about their futures and have no dreams. I have students who tell me they don’t care, their parents don’t care and they would love to just drop out if it meant they didn’t have to do work. And I’m like huhhh??? Don’t you have dreams? Don’t you have goals? No ambition is scary so I feel everyone should have ambition because if not, it’s equivalent to just giving up on life. I dunno. At this point I’m just tired of ppl attacking Meghan for being not fully black. I’m fully black and I don’t have a problem with her. Just cuz she is rich doesn’t mean her life is perfect. Sis really just lost all her royal status and basically got kicked out the royal family due to racism. If I was here, I would be upset. Why is she not allowed to be upset? Or why is she not allowed to speak on issues when she has lived through issues. May not be the same as my life issues but I see the connections. She got kicked out a royal family. I got kicked out my poor family (not cuz of racism, just cuz my mother is homophobic) but still, at the end of the day, Meghan is a fellow human. We are all human and we all have problems in life. I’m empathetic to everyone and I LISTEN to everyone’s problems because that’s how I grow as a human being. And I have students who are black, white and Asian and they all go through struggles. I would never tell one of my white students to hush about her pain because she’s white and privileged. All my kids are hurting in some way and all of us adults are hurting in some way. Sorry for rambling and I hope I was able to communicate my thoughts okay.

Thanks for sharing and I am sorry about your mother and the church. I guess it's a thing of whose story gets pushed out the most or gets picked up if all our stories are on the table by the media. It is definitely the story the one that has the access. I am not into the Olympics of who suffers the most but we all have 24 hours and at a point priorities has to come into play. If the more sympathizers you have generates you more income on the resources you already have, it is slightly difficult for the empathy to come into play for many people that is why it looks like people are bu!lying her. It is not like her story being shared has an objective to prevent such things from happening again because chances are that something like a mixed race marrying into the British royal family is close to none. So you just wonder what the need of this. Ambition in many children is actually very curated in my opinion. There are some people this rule doesn't apply to obviously

I’m really slow to process and understand but I think what you’re saying is the problem is that Meghan is profiting off these issues. So basically instead of making a podcast showcasing these issues, Meghan should highlight the voices that are already speaking on these issues? I think I understand it better. She’s making money off this podcast, I wasn’t fully aware of that. Thank you for explaining! I understand a lot better.

I enjoyed listening to your thoughts. You are a lovely, thoughtful person and I hope you will continue to share with us. (And your English is beautiful and excellent.) Unfortunately, I don't believe these podcasts were created to share authentic, down to earth chit-chat, engaging personal stories, or honest discussions of words, concepts, culture, or women's experiences...they are here as a superficial scaffold upon which Meghan attempts to regain control and explain away criticisms of herself that she cannot tolerate. So far, the series has revealed itself to be a cynical, unserious, incurious, and insincere vanity project through Meghan is attempting to shape and maintain a certain public image, all while making an unthinkably vast amount of money doing it. It is truly unfortunate, because I'm sure many people (especially young women) really crave authentic discussions between women they admire so that they can feel some support, inspiration, and growth. Meghan's project is, I truly believe, an entirely disingenuous means of self promotion and getting the last word. Once again, she has taken an amazing opportunity to build meaningful discussion and turned it instead into a chaotic, meaningless, and disappointing waste of everyone's time--wasting her guests' time and wasting her audience's time 😔.

I watch a lot of commentary channels so what I’m seeing in this podcast is the same I’m seeing from the small creators on RUclips that critique society. Is Meghan not allowed to critique society? She’s definitely been wronged by it in some way. Is it because she isn’t fully black? I’m trying to understand and please know my tone is only inquisitive and not meant to be hostile. I just want to hear your thoughts further to better understand your viewpoint ❤️

@@marajones1828 I get the question and thank you for being polite, you seem lovely. I think for me it is the type of economy where women trauma is capitalized on and her participating in it doing the bearest minimum to change it (not saying she can do much). I think that there are some sort of messages you hear and feel like there is a lack of authority or authenticity of this person giving it. Kim K was bashed for saying women should work hard even if it was a right message. There is a certain level a person gets to and like it or not they have some social responsibility. If they do not want to claim that then it is fine. If they want to, then a single podcast just doesn't overly do it. At the end of the day we are all humans and we don't want to overly stress ourselves so I can understand her still

I think ambition is good to a point. When we have a partner, family, ambition shouldn't be an excuse to forget about nurturing our close relationships. When my children were younger, I was putting my work before them. I was great at it! However, it didn't do anything for my "ex" and I nor for my relationship with my children. Thankfully, I realized (a little late) that they have to come first even when you're working to support the fam. They are the ones that see all we go through. Before my small fam I had been to college, travelled, joined the U.S. Army Reserves and always pushed myself to be in the top 1-5. Racism and setbacks have never kept me from accomplishing my goals and I'm a Hispanic woman from the southern tip-o-Texas (on the border) and in my 50s now. Our own minds have to be stronger and think bigger than someone else's small and narrow opinion. You can do it in spite of adversity :) and at some point you have to choose to move forward.

You and I know well and good that Nigeria is in a state of failure and lawlessness. A country that has had electricity for the past almost 8 decades that's 80 years what shows that it will have one tomorrow or the next day?? A country where individuals can kidnap army personnel kill them and call on their phone to tell their relatives that they have been killed by the killer himself and nothing happens do you think it's the sort of country people want to live in and do business?? You talked about what worries you but doesn't it worry you that as smaller as Ghana is the whole of 300 million Nigerians wants to run to go and live in Ghana??? Think about that. Now would you put your investment in a corrupt and a country full of wickedness? Finally people invest to get dividends not in Naira but in currency that's valuable to the dollar Ghana is ranked third in the whole Africa in the list of 20 strongest currencies South Africa is 9 behind Ghana. So Nigeria's currency is next to toilet papers and who wants to invest in that??? Get ya facts well. Bcoz as big as Nigeria is Ghana no be your mate.
