The app only has the capability to Remote Stop” your washer or dryer during a cycle. Hopefully GE will improve this feature

I have never had an issue with the WiFi connection for the washer or dryer and it’s been 1 year that I have had them. Did you try uninstalling/ reinstalling the app, connecting your WiFi and than connecting back to your washer & dryer in the app?

Yes I have seen in there are certain GE profile appliances including the dishwasher that can be added within the app as long as it has WiFi capabilities.

I am a project manager for new construction builds and therefore I try to recommend the best appliances and grades of materials including consulting with certified plumbers, HVAC contractors and electricians. When I showed a few of them these units they were not just impressed but informed me about all the information needed to make this purchase and give me a peace of mind.

@@socrates936 I do recommend that you make this purchase if you want to upgrade to this “GE Smart Washer” or “GE Smart Dryer” ( with all the bells and whistles mentioned in my video) lol . But I also recommend that you definitely do your research, ensure that your laundry room area can support both units ( electrical outlets, hot / cold water valves, water pressure in your laundry room area etc). I believe in the freedom of consumer choice and it’s perfectly fine if you don’t make the purchase.

@@jkxss I am aware of the rubber inlet seal and the Teflon tape method. I do not recommend this method to be utilized especially when consumers are investing a significant amount of money on a smart washer. I have another video on this channel in which I discussed my installation day in detail and the chaos created by the installation team leader who recommended the Teflon tape. To each its own but as a real estate/ new home construction professional, I have always checked all and triple checked all appliance installments for my SFR portfolio and properties and one thing I can say from my years of experience is that Teflon tape is not a good idea.

Yes, unfortunately this is correct. The HQ App can only be registered under one user. When you download the HQ app on your phone and connect / sync your WiFi to both your GE Profile Washer & Dryer, the HQ App will only recognize one user.

The GE Profile Smart Washer & GE Profile Smart Dryer models I have purchased has the “light feature” on the “control panel” labeled “Light Control Lock”. This light control feature does not stay on throughout the entire cycle for the GE Profile Smart Washer or GE Profile Smart Dryer ( the internal light only stays on for 1-2 minutes and can be selected: before, during or after a wash or dry cycle).

No, there is not a feature listed on the GE Profile Smart Washer to add more water but there is a feature which you can select “extra rise”, or “pre-wash”. The “rise cycle” will add an additional “rise” to your desired cycle. Allowing your items to be rise a secondary time. You will see the added numbers of minutes on the screen of your GE Profile Smart Washer for both the additional timeframes for the “extra rise” or “pre-wash” features. You can also select the “pre-wash” cycle on top of any selected wash cycle: such as the normal wash cycle, quick wash etc. Once selected, the pre-wash cycle will wash your items before beginning the cycle you selected ( more water will be added to your wash cycle to adjust for this setting) . You can select both the pre-wash and the extra rise features with any of the desired wash cycles with the exception of the self cleaning feature.

In your HQ app, within the section “dryer sheets remaining, you can manually type in the number of dryer sheets you have in total. Go to settings within the HQ app. Select the notifications section. You will be able to select one of the following options to receive notifications via your HQ app: 5 Dryer sheets, 10 dryer sheets or 15 dryer sheets remaining.

Hello and yes, the manual for the washer does not have the instructions for the HQ App features. Here are the following steps that I took which worked for me: 1. Ensure that you have the latest HQ App updates and that your HQ App is also communicating to your GE Profile Washer and Dryer (Updates to the HQ App take around 30 minutes btw. During this time, you will not be able to use the app so I recommend updating the app when you are not needing to utilize the app OR using your GE Profile Washer / GE Profile Dryer to do your laundry ) 2. Click on your Washer Icon within the HQ App, Go to the "Smart Dispense" Section. Click there. 3. Make sure that you slide the smart dispense button (located at the top of the app page) to "ON" 4. In the detergent section, you can add or change your desired detergent (You will be prompted to scan the barcode for the detergent) OR (You can select the detergent manually - be advised that not all detergents are listed within the manual option). I recommend utilizing the barcode scan which will upload and identify your desired type of detergent quickly. 5. After you complete step 4, Go to the "Dosing" Selection: Click your desired "dosage amount: "LESS", AUTO (which will automatically determine the dosage amount needed based on your cycle selection) OR MORE" 6. In the "Remaining Section" of the Smart Dispense Section, you will be able to review the status of your detergent levels. When your Smart Dispense tank is low (and you have notifications ON for the HQ App), you will be notified that your tank is low which you will need to refill with your desired detergent. Other than that, your detergent status will reflect: as "GOOD" 7. Select "SET" located at the bottom page of the "Smart Dispense" section within the HQ App, and you are all SET TO GO☺

It depends on the cycle you select on the GE Profile 5.3 Cu Ft. Smart Wash. Based on your cycle selection, typically water usage for your front load smart washer is about 13 to 25 gallons of water per load.

@@lasvegas5603 You are most welcome and WOW that is really strange that your GE Profile Washer only dampens the clothes. I recommend contacting GE via their customer service number or directly through your HQ App to schedule an appointment to have a technician come to your home and do a diagnosis.

It turns out that this washer is designed to reduce water intake, but to add more water you have to raise the soil level to max.

@@lasvegas5603 I was unaware of all of the details in your original inquiry but thought that your GE Washer was experiencing technical issues during the wash cycle which was why I recommended reaching out to GE. So far, I have not needed to utilize the "MAX" soil feature to dampen my clothes but glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue. 🙂It is a Smart Washer so you will discover that the design for the GE Washer and GE Dryer adapts according to the cycle you select, if you utilized the Smart Dispense feature, Power Steam feature, your soil levels, temperature levels and spin feature.

The GE Profile Electric Dryer handles blankets well in my observation. My blankets don’t roll in a bundle. It comes out the dryer crisp, warm and in its original blanket form.

@@kevinamaya9034 It depends on the GE Profile model you purchase. For example, the GE Profile Gas Dryer may require a 120 V and GE Profile Electric Dryer may require a 240V. It also depends on how your laundry room area is wired. Some homes are wired with 208V, 220V or 240V.

I think GE along with other companies are paying close attention to consumer demands, features and capabilities. 💗💗To answer your question, when or if you select the spin feature to "Max" or "High" before you start your desired wash cycle, during the cycle, the GE Profile Smart Washer will sound like an airplane engine ready for flight. You have the option of changing your "Spin Cycle " setting" to Medium, Low, or No Spin". In these settings, the noise level will not sound like an airplane but more like the normal vibes of a Smart Washer. Also, you will not be able to "select" a spin feature" for the "self-clean mode only". This is the only cycle on the GE Profile Smart Washer where the spin feature is set for you at: "Medium" and you won't be able to select any other spin settings. I hope this answered your question.
