😢😩🥺😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
These are all titles I have heard of but never seen. They have a sort of fame and mystery for that reason.
😮
Those ink illustrations are out there. Very cutting edge for the time.
I saw 'Cat on a hot tin roof' many years ago when I was I was only nine years old. So, the film, literally went over my head. As a grown up, it made more sense to me. Liz Taylor plays a hot southern belle, who constantly lusts for her husband. This is the film where she looks truly gorgeous: when she was no longer a girl, but decidedly a full blown woman. Those sexy clothes she wears displays that hour-glass figure, especially that clinging white petticoat. Her character's frustration in the film is genuine as her husband [Paul Newman] is impotent. Is there hope for her husband getting over his impotency, only the future knows. Similarly, in The sun also rises, Tyrone Power plays a man who is impotent, but the film ends with the words "the sun also rises" which left viewers with the interpretation that there was hope for Power's character, plus Ava Gardner who plays his love interest. I do recall that Cat on a hot tin roof was based on a stage play by the same name by writer, Tennessee Williams. All films based on Mr. Williams plays had an undercurrent of sexuality running through them: Summer & Smoke
Holy shit i’d love to have this collection of old books and magazines u have - these are outrageously cool to me
thanks i like cool things let me know of any particular interests and ill see what i have
Sally Ann Howes was Truley Scrumptious in Chitty Chity Bang Bang. Flemming did choose interesting names for his characters.
did you know roald dahl wrote the screenplay ?
@@bonsuivitthemoonlightergro3320 no? Huh. Crazy. Did I see J.M Barrie mentioned as well... Small world.
J m Barrie wrote the admirable Crichton
@@bonsuivitthemoonlightergro3320 And Peter Pan..
Looks like it's in great condition.
sir😊
0:27. Brave red arrow graphics from the magazine layout team. Not easy to do in the early 60's.
Any footage of that night or any of his European shows?...
Who know obi wan kenobie was a lady chaser.
Forgets the VERSES listing many things people focus on instead!
I saw this movie as a young girl of 12 at my small town local movie house and became a life long lover of opera. Thanks for posting this.
Little did they know what was coming up in three years time.
yes exactly !!!
The cars seem so tame compared to the later ones. The US hotrod scene changed everything.
it did and hotwheels
Very modern looking for 1940.
yes pre paper rationing
The way there is so much black shadow in the Robot Archie illustrated story.. make me wonder if It was drawn by Dan Dare creator Frank Hampson...
What was the score ?
Knockout was the first Annual i ever got, 1981...
Contrary to what the 1953 movie shows, the river was not frozen over. So once Houdini was free of his restraints and out of the crate, all he had to do was swim up to the surface; he did not need to find the "hole in the ice".
One episode still exists in BBC archives, wish I could access it
I forgot she was in Bladerunner. The scene where she has to do acrobatics required a level of fitness beyond a normal actor. A rather bulky bearded man in a wig can be seen performing her role in the film. Very briefly.
Excellent!
Many thanks!
Dandy always seemed too tame for me as a kid. Just not as interesting as the other ones.
Apart from the front cover not a bit of colour. Even the back page was black and white. ( except for occasional advert ) But still a classic
What magazine are these from please?
the bunty comic
So lucky
Hello Are you willing to sell this specific article of Lonnie Donegan? I'm a huge fan, and love the picture of him depicted here too. I'm willing to purchase if you're selling Thank you

@@bonsuivitthemoonlightergro3320 ah, alrighty then! I appreciate it. If you ever find more 70's cuttings, I'm always willing to purchase=)
Woah! Amos Burke got owned!
They would have been looked at in th same unfavorable light even if they never had tried to escape France.. Th horrid individuals running that aspect of the Revolution - - - - th accusations, arrests, rumors pointed at otherwise diligent middle _class and upper-class (scientists, govt officials) - - - - never were intent on merely bringing about a positive change..... They were a calculated, savage lot with their own interests in mind, and in th end they themselves paid th price for their callous treatment towards 10s of 1000s of French citizens.. It's just so sad that she and her family were not able to successfully flee.. Let us not forget, also, that a big reason WHY th American Revolution ws able to b fought was in fact due to France giving critical naval aid to th Continental Forces.. Robespierre got what he damn well had coming to him.
Amazing book.📙
Do more Beano and dandy and all fleetway and dc Thomson comics
So Los Caracas were a different band entirely, OK I believe you.
Ok already
Please keep trying for Tit-Bits magazine August 1956 that has a two-page feature on the film Rock around the clock with four dancing poses of Lisa Gaye and Earl Barton. The name of the article is "Dig that crazy rhythm you cool cats". Thanks in advance.
Thanks Bonsuivit, I spotted Lisa Gaye in the Filmstar Birthday issue. If you spot anything else of Lisa Gaye please upload on RUclips. I shall be keenly watching for further issues.
I forgot to mention last time I commented that Lisa Gaye was featured in Picture Show circa 1957 under the column "Who's Who In Movies" with photograph and brief bio. Her film "Ten thousand bedrooms' was also reviewed in pictures in the same issue.
ill keep an eye out for you for those
Thanks for uploading. 👍
You're welcome
Popular at the time. Great music video.
Whoever knew Mrs McGonigall was ever young...?
That was a particularly good year for fil. Some real classics in there.
Another great album. Would have been fun to be in the city in that scene at the time.
Thats is a great sound. Aircraft are a hazard to musicians particularly.
yes a real liability
So what mag is this from - not Playboy. It's a great layout, knowing the magazine would be a total point of subject matter.
i think it was the abc film review magazine
Thanks for sharing this issue of Daily Mirror 1963 with fans of RUclips. Wish you could find some issues from 1953-59 that featured my top fave, LISA GAYE, that 'Rock around the Clock; girl. Please also try and locate and share British Tit-Bits issue of August 1956 that ran a feature titled "Dig that crazy rhythm you cool cats". Besides the full article, this feature also pictured 4 dancing shots of Lisa Gaye and Earl Barton from their 'Happy Baby' dance. Thanks in advance.
interesting.. will check out tales of the riverbank..
