I'd Love To Change The World
Everywhere is freaks and hairies
Dykes and fairies, tell me where is sanity
Tax the rich, feed the poor
Till there are no rich no more?
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you
Population keeps on breeding
Nation bleeding, still more feeding economy
Life is funny, skies are sunny
Bees make honey, who needs money, Monopoly
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you
World pollution, there's no solution
Institution, electrocution
Just black and white, rich or poor
Them and us, stop the war
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you

The kids of the 60's tried to change things....Not so much change right? Only difference today is bees no longer make honey. Not a good sign.

Alvin Lee, the guitar player Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton wish they could have been. What an ear and talent! I saw them in the spring of '74 with Frampton's Camel, Steve. I think that was probably their final Stateside tour in that incarnation as they broke up in '75.

When I was a kid in early seventies, I went to a baseball game at the Astrodome with my parents. We had very good seats, but there was a large group of "hippies" sitting all around us. I was fascinated by their attire and accents and payed little attention to the game. Turns out it was "Ten Years After" - along with girlfriends, managers and various other members of their entourage. One of my favorite memories of all time. I guess the wanted to see the Dome!

i was obsessed at 9 yers old when it came out. it haunted me until at 52 i had a major breakthru with my therapy team i've had for 7 years. this song freakedly followed my life path, it ended with "my letting it go" by "leaving it up to you (others in this generation). I was "outed by my grammy at 6 for being queer in 1967, I was always protesting everything in life, even the wars, corporate greed, inequality and my sexuality. It was like a blueprint of my life. Thankfully it was also my salvation. Just an incredibly uniquely prophetic song ...for me anyways. today...the same issues, but now its up to you...good luck!

Definitely not "Politically Correct" in 2016. But that was the 60's. For those, too young to remember, STOP THE WAR, was the war, conducted by Lyndon Johnson. The War was not declared, and was illegal for that reason. It killed 500,000 Vietnamese, and 50,000 Americans. The anger over that arrogant act of stupidity, does not go away, how ever many years might go by.

Saw them at Day on The Green #1 Oakland Colesium. With Dave Mason, Robin Trower, Fleetwood Mac, and Peter Frampton. 1974? Great tune.
