My husband and I did a kinship foster last year for a woman we had went to church with and I had tried to help get sober before she had her baby. We didn’t get any assistance either, but we were blessed by God to be able to provide for that baby and for our kids. Others I know are not as fortunate. We had to do all the same things foster parents do but on our own. I definitely think that kinship foster families should be offered support.

I haven't been to "church" in 20 years. The "church" is why I left and will never return.

A amazing situation I see is , if the authoritative offices in the church like “Pastor” especially, are calls and ordains and commissioning of God Himself, then how is all these Mega Money, Mega soft, Mega Church Pastors having their sons follow them as the next Pastor of the Church ??? IF YOU REALLY WANT TO BE SAVED, THEN DO WHAT JESUS TELLS YOU TO DO. IT’S JUST THAT SIMPLE.

What responsible parents who love their children would ever allow them to spend unsupervised time with any pastors and/or church leaders? There have been enough of these scandals involving predator priests/pastors - everybody by now should know that there are real risks involved in taking your children to church activities. These risks need to be discussed and not swept under the rug. Churches need to own up to the fact that the very structure of their organizations attract sick people who wish unsupervised and private access to children. We all place our children in special seats when they are riding in cars, and we do this because we wish to protect them. Do our wishes to protect our offspring suddenly go away during church time?
