Great video! I'm excited to try this stitch out. Thank you for making it easy to follow.
You are very welcome! I would love to know about your progress as you try it out.
Thank you. I have a question, do you think merino fares better with this type of increase over cotton? Because every time I use cotton I get a hole no matter what
That is an excellent question. Cotton isn't flexible like merino or any wool for that matter. I just tried the M1L with cotton yarn and it looked good without a hole. Here's a couple of tips that might help. 1. Be sure you are knitting that stitch through the back loop so that it's twisted. That twist is what keeps the hole from forming. 2. How you place that yarn between the stitches onto the left needle matters. The "leg" in the front should be noticably longer than the leg in the back. The back leg is shorter and can be real pain to knit into - that tells me I placed the yarn correctly on the left needle. 3. Knit the M1L into that shorter back leg. It's much harder to knit into the back than the front leg. Have you tried this increase with wool to see if you get the holes with that yarn too? If it continues to be a problem you could try a kfb increase and see if that looks good with your project. Please let me know if this helps. If a talking version of the video would be helpful for you, I can do that too.
What needles are you using. I’ve thought about getting some square needles, may I ask do you like them? So cool looking.
These are cubics square needles. I really like them in the bigger sizes instead of using round DPNs or even favorite circulars.
Love your explanation very easy to follow watched many videos but they were very detailed im a beginner at 62 thanks
You are very welcome 🙂. Thank you for watching
Fantastic quick demo. I have heard of this cast on more often recently. Thank you.

I think I have been using this one since I started knitting. Isn't it amazing how we all know different ways of doing the same thing? I really use this on most of my knitting. Let me know what you think once you've tried it.
