VINTAGE LETTERMAN FULL SHOW July 12, 1996 Bill Murray, Mali Vai Washington, Wallflowers
The band was playing IN THE BUSH by MUSIQUE when Barbara Bush walked out 24:48. ....Push, push, in the bush. Can't believed they got away with it!!!
Dace ate blue macaroni and I think he liked it!
Hey Bill Murray i am keeping your state of mind..)wish u lots of love
whoa 5th Element bruce
35:40.
Only 16 years later he was on the cover of Time magazine and on his way to the CBS show.
tough episode. Would've been great to just listen to Kenny instead of the kid and the comic can't win 'em all
It's highly likely that this is one of the first episodes I ever watched. I listened to that No Doubt album on repeat when it came out in middle school. It's a clip episode, no wonder I was hooked.
TOO BLURRY
Great to see a full show, thanks. Mr. & Mrs. So Happy, Kingpin-era Bill Murray, and Mali Vai before the Atlanta Olympics, hmph! Plus a Wallflowers hit, good times.
I’ll tell ya what 😭😭😭
Wow a full episode with video clip, musical guest and all!
Wow, never knew Celine Dion was once a normal looking person
Saw it twice another great one Dave, first time in the pizza place and Asgie from " the Bordello of Blood"
thank you for these 1996 episodes , Dave was at his best, I think I have seen them all - going to start watching them again
96 was a good year for Dave and the Late Show, but Louie bombed
feels like time travel to the 90s..
Just prior to the the election between Obama and McCain and all here there was to worry about is would there be a Republican or Democrat now you have to worry about a Democrat or an Authoritarian
I was in 8th grade and was brain washed into thinking Obama was going to be the end of America… god damnit was I ignorant…
No.
@@rockyjeterwebb1718 YES
@@lifevest1 and in 2020 you were brainwashed into thinking the election was stolen
@@sandy3482 No.
Lea and Dave were funny
Nice.
Another wild and wacky great show Dave, 96 was a great year for the Late Show and the Yankees
WATCHED 4/12/24
Oh yeah Al Gore, the guy who won the 2000 election but the Supreme Court gave it to Barbara Bush's idiot son, what a coincidence
the 1996 election, back when the election would not determine if we will continue to be a democracy or not! and see couldn't even do the Macarena, watched it twice
WATCHED 3/27/2024
"are you Howard Stern" and Vanessa
A young Celine Dion was fabulous, her and the girls with the band, brought the roof down - never knew she was a rocker like that
Happy Birthday Dave and thanks for another great show.
WHY DID IT CUT CHRIS ROCK. WHY DIDN'T IT CUT BILLY BOY INSTEAD SMH
another great show with Dave and Bruce!
PoM during the good times!
One of Dave's very best Late Shows - with the spinning hula hooping pit bull
Wow.... Louis really eats it. His comedy has changed so much .
They added a commercial break after the monologue around this time. Thanks for sharing.

The dog on the hula hoop was my dog
he was the best stupid pet tricks ever
War crimes barbara
Best Show Ever
0:23 Dave had only been doing comedy professionally for about 2 years (!) at this point, but he had his classic comic persona and attitude already worked out here. Good stuff!
At the very same time (August 1977) Starland Vocal Band's show was airing on CBS prime time as a summer replacement (with Dave in the cast), A Year at the Top (co-starring Paul Shaffer) was airing on CBS prime time as a summer replacement show. Nothing from A Year at the Top (beyond a few promos) has surfaced, sadly.
"But what about THAT guy?"
Amazing post thank you... Do you have Chris Rock on Howard Stern 2008. Loved that episode where Chris was making fun on Howard getting married !
He couldn't wait to get over to Mario Van Peebles...as if that was some interview 🙄
Dave comes across as a total d**k here.
Brandon was a classmate of mine. The guy they cut to in the audience was our social studies teacher. It's not the most thrilling story I've told, but it is true, and that's what matters most. =]
