With God, you have to go ALL IN. Stepping into divine flow for creativity is just one of the STREAMS that come out of a divinely connected life. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." - John 15:5 It's the connection that brings about an endless flow of creativity. When you are only partially connected, you experience an inconsistent flow of ideas. It's like watching your favorite TV show, or movie; and every couple minutes someone comes and unplugs the TV while the story line is developing, and the plot is deepening. That will drive you crazy. But we do it to God. Fully connected = fully creative. Here are 3 ways I step into & maintain the divine flow of creativity in my life: 💭1. I obey. Rather than attempt "to be creative", I obey the instructions God gives me no matter how silly. You never know where creativity could spring up from. You don't have to force creativity when you obediently allow God to walk you into creative moment after creative moment! When you go where He says, ideas FIND YOU. Not the other way around. 💭2. I begin my day with the Lord, and I don't leave Him at the beginning of the day. After official time together, as I move on to the demands of my day I intentionally invite Him in. As I care for my children. Clean. Make lunch. Homeschool. His constant presence causes me to see my life through a creative lense. Part of stepping into divine flow is to literally allow God to use your life as the white board He writes on. That's what the Gospels are. The inspired writings of Jesus' life, and the men & women of God who lived for God. And they're STILL inspiring millions of lives today. 💭3. Catch & Release: I still pray for creativity, and when I pray I make sure to store the ideas. God isn't wasteful. Anytime I've struggled with my flow I was telling myself things like "I'll record that idea later" & letting an idea slip away. Or I racked up a note full of ideas that I hadn't put to use. I’m not a designer. I have had no trainings, or Canva creation classes (I should invest in one though). I just do things with the Holy Spirit-and you can too. “Do you like this color, Holy Spirit?” Is the single question I asked Him after I had gotten down what was really the rough draft of this free resource at the time. His response, “No.” 😂 So then I asked Him what color did He like for this & He said green, and I felt a prompting to find a green color palette that I dragged onto the design (can you spot it?) and then the rest was history. I asked Him every question I felt necessary, following images that came to mind, nudges, Scriptural concepts (He had me read Genesis 2), and moved things around until I’d feel Him go “that’s it.” Here are the 3 Steps I used to create with God: 1. The idea originally came from Him. Sounds simple but you begin creating with God long before you actually do anything creative. You first accept & get on board with what He’s shown you. It’s easy to flow creatively with God when He is not co-signing an idea you had & you are trying to get Him onboard after the fact-but when He is the Author & Originator of the idea to begin with. His vision = His provision. That’s not just about money. Provision also is the creative bandwidth, the connections, the ideas & practical wisdom to make it happen. 2. From what I understood I got the idea down as best as humanly possible. (this is what you see in the very first image with the pink haha). Creating with God always is a step by step process that involves agreement, faith, and implementation. On repeat. In my experience He gives just enough to begin, and then in order to see it through to its completion you have to continue to involve Him in every step. 3. I asked Him for every single detail until the end. He veils the end product in secrecy, so you can’t go forward without Him! The path to get to the end is unlocked each time you ask & seek, and then receive. Most people struggle to create with Him because they have a misconception that He gives the full blueprint every time. And when they don’t get it they forsake partnership & go at it alone. I’ve experienced Him give the entire blueprint, but it’s not been a regular occurrence for me. And even when He does download the blueprint, I’ve discovered it’s because the process to bring it to pass will require a deeper level of faith every step of the way anyway!
