You fellows that are condemning the use of pistols for deer are full of beans. True, a pistol is more difficult to handle because of the way you have to hold it. With practice a person can easily take deer out to 80 yrds and even beyond. I personally don't shoot deer , with my 44mag, past 80 yrds but the gun is plenty powerful enough and in the right hands accurate enough. I'm older and shake more than I did 40 yrds ago. Ask Larry Whysond ( not sure of the spelling) about shooting deer with a handgun. I limit myself on the distance that I shoot game with my rifle. The last thing I want to do is shoot and loose any animal. You are welcome to disagree with me. I'll point you to a quote from " dirty Hairy" " A man's got to know his limitations " l rest my case. I took a similar shot with a .45, hard lead wadcutter, 900 fps handloads from my 4.5" sig sauer. She flopped right over. Done. Still its amazing how some get shot through the heart and still can run 50 yards or more.

Hunting from behind camo in a tree just ain't hunting in my book. I had to train myself too when I was little but it was on my bicycle with training wheels.
