Booyah! I have a 94 indy 500. From what I heard they only made efi that particular year. Crazy! They were sick sleds but too much tech for a lot of the traditional wrenchers who were used to simplicity. I've read tons and tons of forums on that sled and so many people hate on the efi and convert to carbs and try to get everyone else to follow them. I love the efi. When it's tuned up you can't get a more efficient or easy to start sled. It starts on the second pull no matter what. First pull wakes up the computer and charges the fuel rail, and once you hear the pump stop pumping it will start on the next pull no matter the altitude or temperature. But when you do have a problem, get ready to read a ton of forums because it could be anything on a long list of sensors, pumps, injectors, etc etc etc. I love carb sleds just as much, but there is no way I'd ever consider converting the efi to a carb. You'd have to be desperate in my opinion and lazy to do such a thing.

Mines a 94 and needs a rebore. I got it two years ago with a broken piston pto side. I cheaped out and just bought one piston and two sets of rings but my failed attempt of a quick fix top end rebuild led me to conclude that it's either from piston slap from being too out of round, or from me sucking in some powder from not having a foam filter in place. Because I was carving in some deep fresh pow when breaking it in... cold snow hits intake side of hot piston and yeah... not the first ride but a few rides in It bogged out pretty bad and died a few miles later. After taking off the fuel rail I reached in with my finger and felt the intake skirt just gone. Running on one again but not enough to pull the neglected beauty. I bought this site unseen while three states away and 900 miles away. Haha. Just how I roll!

i hope when your done with that sled you burn it. coolant is -7 and your ripping around on it. nobody deserves the problems that are yet to come (or perhaps have happened by now)
