Can the SBC be in the cloud?

What if you have branches in remote areas that need to connect to a remote 3CX but these remote branches have IP phones merely connected to an FTTH by ethernet Each branch has just one IP phone so buying a router phone for each will be costly There also aren’t computers in every branch to install an SBC on each, also the FTTH router uses DHCP for each branch Will there be a solution around this or I might’ve to consider revoking my license?
This feature gets real confusing if you have more than one physical site that use separate trunks - and need Site A to use the E911 of Trunk A and Site B to use the E911 of the trunk associated with Site B. You can only enter one entry for "911", you can't add multiple entries and source whitelist them as you can do with an outbound route.

Where do I get the files from?
Hi Tularis, contacting your Yealink reseller or who you bought the phones from for the recovery files is the best way to get them. If you bought it from us, please open a ticket in the Voxtelesys Portal. Alternatively you can create go to ticket.yealink.com and request the recovery files. So, we have to set up an additional server just to run SBC on 3CX now? Or is this a guide on how to reinstall our PBX entirely but include the SBC option?
The 3CX Server does not include an SBC service. This guide is for installing an SBC on a VM or hardware in your network. If your 3CX server is not local to your phones, an SBC can be used to bypass firewall issues and prevent the use of “Direct SIP, STUN”. An alternative to an SBC are router phones which can act as an SBC. I hope this answers your questions.

Greetings, and thanks for the comment! You will need to assign the device/machine running the 3CX SBC a Private (RFC1918) Static IP. This machine must be running all the time otherwise the phones connected to it will no longer function, at least until the machine starts up again.

Hello, thanks for the video. For a major upgrade like from v18 to v20, which parts of the backup do I need to do? Do I need to check all the boxes? Thank you so much.
Hi Escanor, When creating a backup before an update it would be best to check the top 4 boxes. The upgrade to Version 20 is a little different, however. The upgrade to 3CX Version 20 updates your Linux Debian OS from Debian 10 to Debian 12. It would be best to create a backup of the entire image that includes the OS, the 3CX, and other services. We also recommend storing this backup externally (not on the machine that your 3CX is on).

Poor instructions... What TFTP Server software? Where did you find the IP address to use? Wow difficult to follow.
To keep the video concise, setting up the TFTP Server is outside the scope of the video, as mentioned at the 30 second mark "..you will need the following, a TFTP Server..". Another search for "configure TFTP Server" would point you in the right direction - any TFTP Server should work. Keep in mind the ability to use a FAT32 formatted USB Drive is also an option. The IP Address's are auto-filled by the DHCP server on your network, and the "TFTP IP" is something you set, no one knows your network topology like you do, so we cannot give you specifics on something we could never know about. We can look into helping you further if you open a ticket on the Voxtelesys Portal including your account number.

I am using v20 build 1... I followed the video multiple times. and am unable to make calls. The authentication is good. I've got green lights but no calls. any ideas for troubleshooting?
Hi @justinreeed1388, do you have outbound rules set? Are you able to receive incoming calls? 3CX Free and SMB will create your outbound rules, but a dedicated 3CX does not. If you need help with creating outbound rules, please open a ticket from your Voxtelesys Portal account.

still not clear on weather to unplug the main unit while upgrading the backup... - and do I need to unplug the backup while upgrading the main....
It sounds like you are using a fail-over system with your main unit. You should be able to upgrade both the main unit first and then the fail-over (without disconnecting them), but you will want to do both of them on the same day. This is because the fail-over runs off of a backup of the main system. If the fail-over is not upgraded on the same day, the backup from the main unit would break the fail-over as it would be on the previous version.

Do all incoming calls have audio issues? Inbound audio issues are typically firewall issues, do you have proper NAT/forwarding rules to point the UDP and RTP traffic back to the PBX?

Yes you can. Using your after hours example, you will first need to enable business hours on step 3. After creating the smart attendant, add a global contact on the non-business hours route.

What if when you try to add a DID rule, it says "In order to add an Inbound Rule, a SIP Trunk must be created first. Go to SIP trunks and Add SIP Trunk.", but the SIP Trunk tab is not there and on the dashboard "Trunks" is greyed out?
Hi, @qwasyx3 You most likely do not have the correct permissions on your extension for 3CX. You will need to make sure your extension that you are using to log into the management console has one of the following permissions: - Is set to system administrator - Is set to system owner - Have the permission "SIP Trunks Administration (Can manage SIP trunks, inbound & outbound rules)" checked

You would need to assign a number to the resource account or set up the queue in an IVR from a key press to test its functionality.
i added the ivr, but the extensions just ring eachother rather than getting a voice prompt
