Nice review! I had the same question as you on the installation of the toe ties. I reached out to Bauer and they recommended some needle nose pliers to pull the rubber grommet through. This worked for me (with a good amount of elbow grease). I suspect removing them is done in a similar fashion, though it seems like it would be more difficult.
@@MarcBaumbach if I owned the set I probably would’ve played around with the toe ties a lot more, but I didn’t want to risk damaging a demo set
@@ukgoalienetworkyea, I contacted them before doing anything too. I was too scared I was gonna rip apart the holes where the grommet went. 😅

I’d stick with whatever size you’re using now. The boot is quite flexible
I would say that if your not 7foot definitely go lower lol
Dude I ordered them finally. FLex boot and stock stiff thigh rise with a single break and single internal break. I'm sure I'll love them. How you liking them still? Are you able to get more flexibility in the break...more of what you'd like? Or, do they really stand the test of time and quality and they will curve but not so much.
They’ve softened up a bit but the thigh rise is still super stiff. There’s a layer of carbon in the thigh, so it’ll never curve much
I think the adjustable velcro on the outside of the finger protection looks so road hockey caliber
Love the fact there's a Brit doing goalie pad reviews. Greetings from Montreal! I just tried on PX3s and LOVED THEM. But looking at the Hzrdus....do they fit differently? I won't be able to try on the PX4s and don't want to get them and then see that they fit drastically differently than the PX3s. Cheers man...keep up the vids
If you’re just going on stock retail specs then PX4 may fit slightly bigger. I ordered both PX3 and PX4 in the same boot flex and stiffness, so they fit the same. If you like the PX3, you’ll definitely like the PX4!
Do you know how much the px3 weighs and if the core is any different from the px4 if both are spec’d to have an external break with a stiff thigh?
Our PX3s are 2.375kg each PX4s are 2.130kg each Both with external break and stiff thighs. Can’t say for sure, but I’m 99% certain that the cores are the same in both pads
I am thinking of getting the G6 in black for ball hockey. I am not sure how durable it will be on gym floor and rink surface without ice? Also, would the black rub off?
I would always go with pad covers for ball hockey / roller hockey. Jersey53 make really good custom graphic pad covers
what color options did you go with? i like the clean look!
All royal blue, with one weave stripe and weave on the sliding surface

@@8en9ne no, it doesn’t make any difference to the weight. Purely cosmetic
Did they fix the boot angle from the g6?
What needed fixing?

@@mattyz30zambam32 the G7 stock boot doesn’t feel particularly stiff. It’s springy, and sits quite tall, but has a lot of flex in it
When do you think the full review is coming out?
Usually around the 6-8 week mark, once we’ve had chance to get them on the ice for a decent amount of time
True now has an optional double internal break in HZRDUS. I wonder if that would do the pre curve. I also want a pre curve.
They do, but you can’t have it with the thinned-out thigh rise. I didn’t want to lose out on one of the main new features of the pad
Would you be able to do a full spec breakdown? I have a set coming and am very exciting but I love hearing what specs people have gotten. I think you also got a Mach boot thickness, right? What stiffness did you go with in the thigh rise?

Yes, 590 / 60 degree

How tall are you? Just gauging the larges in you?
I’m 5’8” but height is largely irrelevant when it comes to pad sizing. Ankle to knee measurement = 17.5” which makes these pads about 1” too tall in the knee, but because I usually use 33+2 pads with a stiffer boot angle, these actually fit perfectly in the thigh rise

Whats the update on durability
Used for approx 3 hours. Absolutely no issues yet. Very solid stick! Looking to film some on-ice content in the next couple weeks (getting ice time has been tricky!)
