If your watching this channel it’s probably because you LOVE hunting fishing and trapping. If that’s the case you might as well subscribe and hit the notification bell because those are pretty much the only thing that I get excited about. So those are the only things I video.

@@poopster1094 Talk to the opossum. lol
I’m not saying it didn’t happen but I’d love to see pictures of that that’s insane!! Thanks for commenting.
Interesting noise there, D.
@@bethpemberton7980 yea I knew someone would mention that. It was supposed to be a doe bleat but it sounded like I screamed it at him. It was meant to be quite a bit softer sounding than that but it stopped him so I guess it worked.
@Grissom_Outdoors i knew it was something hunterish. Did work. He stopped right between the two trees.
70grain Barnes ttsx with 24grains of varget is my pill of choice
Good work young man!
@@oklahomaokie thank you sir.
Try a 330 conabear trap. That will give your hand grief for monthes! Very painful and not eadu yo get oit of when alone. Have your rope handy!
@@chrisholmes6029 yea that certainly wouldn’t be fun this video was more for showing people who may not know better that foothold traps aren’t going to destroy the animals leg. If they did that it would be awfully hard to trap when all you catch is the foot and the animal runs off with three legs.
Long spring and wax dirt where you have real cold
@@timothyrothrock4173 absolutely 👍
Are you kin to him?
@@AdventureswithPastorD no sir just let him at this trapping convention and he did this demo so I videod it and posted it I have spoken to people that know him better than I do and they say he’s a great guy and he wouldn’t care that I posted this video. I bet he’d be happy. Giving this information out to people that have an interest in the sport. He also has a choke pole he designed I bought one and it’s epic.
@@Grissom_Outdoors lol I was jw, yeah he used to sponsor me by sending baits and lures for trapping when I was on tiktok but tiktok is so sensitive I quit fooling with them. Now I just post on youtube videos and shorts. He's a real good guy! I've also bought the trappers pole, I love it!
@ that thing is epic isn’t it that’s crazy that you know him too.
Fake News
Could be I’ve never been trapping with the guy but he made a lot of sense and sounded very confident and his story never wavered so he could definitely be telling the truth
Dev, do you need a cough drop? Throat scratchy?
I had been using some strong cleaner under the hood of my truck and got really choked up right before I noticed the turkeys
A silencer? I would have given you a potato years ago.
Its called training... what is so special?
@@scackley honestly I just wanted to show off my dog
Aren’t all labs supposed to? 😂 those aren’t tricks, that’s what to be expected. Good lookin pup!
@@bradhein7820 that’s what most labs were bred for but they definitely don’t come already trained it takes a lot of hard work and effort to get one to that stage. Plus when you do it’s something to be proud of. She can do lots more.
no
😂
My dogs can both fetch and release
@@TheUnsystematicChannel that’s awesome! Well trained dogs are a great thing to come by

But will it Keal???? 👇
@@madetv1647 it will KEAL!!!
I’m new to this. I’m going out to setup traps today. What do you do with the round circle thing to make the trap stay in the ground?
@@Dr.D21 what round circle thing are you talking about and I’ll be able to help you.
@@Grissom_Outdoors the trap is connected to a chain which leads to a circle.
@@Dr.D21 oh that’s a anchor or stake believe it or not that little thing goes into the ground standing up and then you pull on the chain and it turns sideways making it where the animal stays right there. It’s very hard to get out without digging it up or using my some type of leverage. I’ve even heard of people hooking them to the winch of their trucks to pull them up
@@Grissom_Outdoors thank you. I was confused. Now I understand
@@Dr.D21 no problem I love helping beginners like you that’s what I want this comment section to be. Experienced trappers giving younger trappers advice knowledge and wisdom on a dying sport
Why don’t folks still use trap pan covers anymore? It was standard practice years ago ?
A lot of people still do. Some people use polyfil under there pans and others just rebed the trap every time it rains
Im looking to buy one, but my main question is, is it a full tang?
It’s not a full tang knife but I wouldn’t let that stop me from buying it bc it took an absolute beating in this video. I was impressed
It is full tang
Why these fish, are they better than a bluegill or channel cat, or snapper, why drive 500 miles for this sheephead. Not being sarcastic just want to know do they taste better whats the biggie, looks like you had fun and thats the most important, liked video
They taste great maybe not better than a lot of other fish that you can catch in the same water you catch these in but these fish fight pound for pound incredibly hard. They are also very hard to hook bc they are good at stealing bait.
Most people are just assholes, they set a trap and when it catches the wrong animal, the assholes post a video releasing the animals. When it's the right animal (wolves and coyotes, for example), the assholes kill them, but they don't post that part of the murder on the internet.
A lot of people are trying to make this a full time job or it is their full time job and if they show the part where the animal is shot a bunch of snowflakes cry about it and the video gets taken down and they get flagged making no more money.
@@Grissom_Outdoors I would like to apologize for being so aggressive and also to use your channel for this. I also apologize to anyone and everyone who was offended by my words. In fact, being aggressive only takes the hatred further, failing to talk and try to resolve the situation with respect and love. "Love one another". Again, sorry!
Nice
I’m glad you liked it! Thanks for commenting.
Looked like some solid action
It was a bunch of fun!!
Pritty good knife but it want tutch the esee 6. Even if the seals use this knife its not the best. The military is given the soldiers there equipment by the cheapes bidder
That is true but it will be a heck of a knife to beat this thing. I tried to destroy it and it’s still almost brand new.
Well that's a really good looking set. I'll have to try it.
I’m glad you liked it!!
Came for a knife test, stayed for georgie from young sheldon
😂🤣
Going to give this a go later tonight!
Awesome!!! Tight chains let us know how you do!
Good video, thanks.
Glad you liked it!
One of the sharpest you ever bought, bless, i have one and its sharp but not crazy sharp, get a 120 dollar marttiini lapp 250 thats craaaaazy sharp, or moras they are pretty sharp too,
I’ve bought two benchmarked and they were like razor blades and this thing still was sharper I didn’t know it was possible. I’ll have to check that martini knife out.
Benchmade
They eat anything 😂 they really do don’t matter if it moves or not
That’s news to me lol I knew flathead would but I really thought they were too lazy ig to run anything down.
@@Grissom_Outdoors depends how hot it is and time of year I guess Iv got cats on some crazy top water baits just playing around sometimes
@@texasrigged5875 see it seems like everyone else has but I’ve fished for basically all my life and I have never. It would be epic to catch a catfish on topwater.
I have caught a catfish on just about every lure i use
Seems like a lot of folks have and I find that so bizarre because I’ve bass fished and crappie fished and cat fished pretty well all my life but never caught a channel cat on any thing other than catfish bait.
Catfish will eat anything
Yea I knew they would eat pretty much anything I just never knew they’d chase down a moving lure.
I've caught them on every bass bait I've ever thrown and that's a lot
Wow that’s wild I’ve thrown ALOT of bass lures and have been for the better part of my life and this was a first for me.
I caught a 25pound cat on a rooster tail
😯 wow that’s epic I bet that was a heck of a fight!!
Yup
Yes sir
For some reason yes it’s always spinners they bite on. Anything that spins with the gold blade
That’s wild I had no idea thanks!!
Yes
Yes all the time
Well I guess I’m the only one who doesn’t lol.
Probably won't be the last
It’s strange bc I’ve fished for almost all of my life and I’ve never done that
I catch them on crank baits all the time, but it’s always the same lake. I guess they just grow up different in those parts.
They might because rice fished every pond around my house except for this one for years and this is only the second or third time I’ve fished this pond and caught a channel so you may be on to something!
Yessir, when theyre active they'll chase bait.
That’s wild I knew flathead would but they’re a little more predatory in my eyes. First time seeing a channel do that.
They are not just scavengers thay are often predatory fish I have caught them on crank baits and spinners
See I knew flathead could be predatory but I didn’t know channel cat would be.
@Grissom_Outdoors yea I live up north we don't have flatheads mostly channels and once in a while get blues I even caught a bull head on a jointed Rapala once but it was hooked on the outside corner of the mouth so idk of it was just trying to swipe at it to scare it away or actually trying to eat it
@@ajchilds2163 that’s pretty cool we have all three and an extra called a Mississippi white catfish. So four unless you want to talk about mud catfish.
Jitterbugs and buzzbaits in the evenings. Many of times.
Wow I’ve fished a lot of buzz sits for bass and never had it happen I bet that would be cool.
Yes. Channel cats and blues are active predators. A lot of their feeding happens at night. Hence, most bass fishermen operating outside of their window
Awesome!
Nope , but I caught a 55 lb. carp on a Rapala Shad rap #5 silver...
Wow did he bite it or did you snag him? There’s a lot of hooks on a rapala lol
@@Grissom_Outdoors I pulled the hooks from his mouth , so apparently he bit the lure...
@@jinjerfanatic1372 that’s wild but I don’t doubt it bc I caught a carp several years ago on stink bait.
