Frederick Law
Сингапур
Добавлен 16 мар 2013
My name is Frederick Law and I started out with an interest in planted tanks when I chanced upon an article on Mr Takashi Amano (may he rest in peace) back in 2018. He truly inspired me to try and recreate pieces of nature in my home and that was the start of my interest in all things aquatic. During one of my 'hunts' for freshwater plants, I stumbled upon a shop selling only ornamental shrimp, and the rest, as they say, is history. I bought my first shrimp there and never looked back.
I have a mission to spread truthful and correct information about all things shrimp, and I hope that I may inspire many more people to keep and breed ornamental shrimp.
If you want to know more about ornamental shrimp, follow me on my journey as I set out to discover, inform, and unravel some of the more mysterious aspects of the shrimp world.

I’ll be back in this space soon. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@ShrimpVault wonderful, was wondering where you went! Are you personally keeping shrimp?

This video makes a lot of sense, thank you for sharing. I do have a question, would you suggest keeping your top shrimp separated and just add new shrimp from other breeders to that tank to increase the chance of getting higher grade shrimp? Or breed and cull more?
Started this Hobby while back and it feels like im on a Desert Island. No community's here in USA of like minded people... i dont know one person to turn to to ask questions about this subject.. Anyways, fairly sure ive obtained Boa here in US but dont know enough to know for sure myself. Anyone have a suggestion of a Forum or something for this type of thing? pretty sure what i have is what he describes here 7:29 needless to say i bought it for next to nothing when it comes to the hobby.. so im certain its not a pure line, just a chance boa
We need more videos bro where you at hahahah
Hello, do you have a link where you can buy these acrylic containers? Regards !
Beautiful
보아 색상이 너무 예쁩니다. 열정이 보기 좋습니다. ^^
즐거우셨다니 다행입니다!
these look like right size for FRIED RICE
Where do you find the box?
How many chillers do you use to keep all your tanks under 23°C ? Or your shrimp room is Air conditioned 24 hrs? Since you live in a hot and humid country?
What do you call the viewing box they used to measure the shrimps?
Watching this video again in 2022 :)
woah those shrimp are absolutely gorgeous i'm speechless
hi! did you have a tip to have 5.0 / 5.5 PH? more ada soils? i have 250us conductivity... and 6.5PH... less conductivity = less PH? thanks ;)
I would love to enter a competition!! But the problem I'm having is where to purchase my breeding stock here in the United States.
Süper harika
I just randomly found this video and really enjoyed it
Thank you - that was a great interview! Do you know why Kelvin uses a UGF and sponge filter in each tank? It seems like most of the US breeders I've watched videos of will only use a single sponge or matten filter
Do a video on Nanashi shrimp please, I'm having trouble figuring out their genetic.
So interesting but you were right about the sound... I still enjoyed it. So thanks for posting and i sunscribed
hello kelvin how are you It is impossible not to admire your galaxyfishbone boa and blue boa shrimps. It is very difficult to find such creatures in Turkey. e mail: merkeztaksibaris@hotmail.com
Why the water in his tanks is so cloudy?!
So where the next video with the "alternative better way" ?
Wow really nice shrimps and tanks there cheers friend
Is that normal T5 LED tube light that we use for commercial purposes at home...?
Nope, those are T5 high output lights, higher wattage. I believe his are from Aquazonic.
What are his tank dimensions?
They look like 2ft tanks, but their height is probably 1.5ft, looked really deep to me.
great info terrible sound
Still great content!! Good information from people like him are reasons I'd subscribe. Thank you and Aloha from Hawai'i!
Aloha my friend! Glad you enjoyed it, let’s learn about and enjoy beautiful shrimp together.
Thank you for adding closed caption. I cannot tell, does this breeder use a filter sponge under the substrate in the under gravel filter?
Hai, have u experienced seed shrimp outbreak? What do u do to handle it?
1. feed less food 2. Reset your tank with new soil and water
Thank you for this great video! Can't wait for the next video to drop =)
Thanks man, stay tuned!
@@ShrimpVault will do for sure, top content on your channel =)
Awesome interview! Thanx for sharing and thank you Kelvin Wong! Looking forward to the next video
Thank you for your kind words!
Great video. I'm starting to use their products to see of there's any difference dosing these magical liquids
Thank you. I haven't tried any of his products yet but I've only heard good things about them. Let me know if they work out for ya.
did you see a difference?
@@abrahambarkhordar5572 honestly, not really, just got to keep it simple. that's the best way in my opinion
good job, Sir
Thank you, I appreciate it sir.
What pellets do you feed? Do you blanch your spinach?
Yup! Kelvin blanches his spinach before feeding. Regarding pellet food he uses several varieties, but what’s more important is to never overfeed which he mentions in the video (uneaten food fouls up the water really fast = shrimp deaths) Any generic shrimp pellets should be fine. Personally I prefer the harder varieties that do not crumble easily, I find it lessens the chance of affecting water quality.
@@ShrimpVault great advice and totally agree. I’ve lost so many over the years learning how to do it right. Finally have a stable tank now. Curious, what do you do with your cull or lower grades? Do you put them on the market to sell?
@@rockdicasbah I think typically most hobbyists sell off their culls. Keeping shrimp is not a cheap hobby and it’s a nice way to sustain one’s hobby.
@@ShrimpVault do you sell them privately or online, I’m interested but can you ship to US?
@@rockdicasbah I just linked the breeder's instagram in the description! You can contact him there.
Thx for the great shrimp tips.and your shrimps looks so Nice!
Kelvin is a really experienced breeder, I’m glad you found it helpful!
Very Nice Shrimps sir !!!

Yes bro hello 👋🏻
@@ShrimpVault how are u bro? So long since last saw u. Didnt know u doing youtube and also shrimp keeping
Interesting interview!
Glad you liked it!
So what did he do to overcome his problems with shrimp dying?
Quite a few of you have been asking this question! Just to clear the air and to avoid any misunderstanding, it was my intention to give you guys an insight into all the blood, sweat and tears it takes to become a world class shrimp breeder like Vin. To answer your question, it took many years of trial and error on his part as he began breeding shrimp when there was zero information on the internet to rely on. He was one of the pioneers of shrimp breeding, and a true master of his craft.
Any ideal size for ugf box for tank of 1.5ft cube with caridina shrimps ?
Hey, I like to follow a general rule of 1 litre of soil for every 15-16 litres of water. Your 1.5ft cube should hold 90 litres of water at full capacity. Therefore you should have a UGF box capable of holding at least 4 litres of soil, which means you need a box that is at least 16cmx16cmx16cm or larger.
for 1.5 i use 30x30x30...
@@shamgrangrezroa1661 that’s a huge UGF hahahaha. Do you have any pics of your 30cm UGF?
