I combed out my sisterlocks after 2 years. It took 2.5-3 months 😭 I retained my length but had dyed it twice too while locked so it’s a bit damaged but after trimming my ends it’s not bad. Just trying to grow out the dye now with protective styles. It’s so much work compared to having my locs but I love my free curls and am excited to be on the journey again

I just combed out my 8 year old locs that were super long and my hair is up to my ears and terribly damaged. I retained no length even with conditioner. I will add it was extremely hard maintaining moisture in my locs so I believe that’s why my hair broke off so badly. I’ll have to start over with short hair anyway even though I tried to avoid that. If your locs are healthy and not dry you will retain length but if it isn’t just chop them bad boys off. I really want the month I spent combing them out back lol.
