    Hi I don’t mind it as well im fact I love weaving in ends lol so im really really WEIRD! 😂 have a question r granny squares supposed to have the centers open or closed bc making a blanket with then i would think closed

    • @GrannyBeeCrochets
      @GrannyBeeCrochets 2 месяца назад

      Mine are typically closed i usually use a magic Circle to make my Center. Some people use a chain 4 which leaves a bit of an opening at Times but that particular pattern called for a more open Center

    Use a Nostepinde, instead. It will automatically create that cushioning so that you don't stretch the yarn.

      @@GrannyBeeCrochets It is basically an oversized wooden spoon handle. A lot of Europeans use their wooden spoon handles. The larger the diameter of your 'stick' the loser your yarn ball will be. You could use a jumbo knitting needle, too. I would get hubby to use a sander to reduce the point of the needle to just a 'nub.' There are numerous YT vids that illustrate how to use a nostepinde. Many hand spinners and super thin thread lace knitters, won't use a hand crank winder on their delicate yarns/threads; they use a nostepinde. The nostepinde makes a center pull ball, that once it's off the 'stick' you can mush the ball to reduce the size of the center hole, and that will loosen up the yarn.

    The extra finger width is a great tip! Many people want to buy or use gadgets for everything, but they forget the best tools are right there at the end of their arms! That said, I need to know the best way to add more twist to yarn that has gotten past the Quality Assurance/Quality Control people at the yarn factories, i.e. irregularly or insufficiently twisted yarn that wants to be "splitty". I have a few methods, but boy it can be a hassle trying to do yards and yards of it at one time or having to start and stop to twist it some more for the next few yards. A couple of the ways are kinda fun. All of the ways to give me a break to get my arms to do some other function except for the same repeated motions chugging away at my stitches. It's actually a pretty good break, I really should do a video except that... I get stage fright.

    • @GrannyBeeCrochets
      @GrannyBeeCrochets 3 месяца назад

      I do not have any hints for the twisty yarn problem but i think it's funny that you said "I should make a video for that" because that's how my youtube Page got started. I would try to explain things to people in words and it's hard when a video Works so much better and granny Bee crochets was born.
